Do Not Scratch Your Eyes

With twitter acting up and Pete's wifi disappearing every 2 minutes here is the second half edit of the fan reaction after the Leicester game which saw a battling defensive display for 75 minutes and then chickens coming home to roost as Dan Bachmann was sent off for a second yellow bringing Jamie Vardy for the penalty that saw the score finish 2-0. A debate then ensues over Dans first yellow card and the difficulties for a goalkeeping captain being booked (his first one) for running out of his goal to remonstrate with the ref (which he has to do as only the captain can approach the ref and he's a goalkeeper in the penalty area!!).

Anyway we pick over those pieces and more - edited to try and remove some of rubbish that even for us was below par as Pete cant hear anyone most of the time!!!

Phillip of Leicester Fan TV joins us for the first time to discuss our trip to the King Power on Saturday!! We find out about Leicester’s season post relegation from the Premier League (which Phillip is still quite rightly not happy about), another former Pep Guardiola assistant in the hot seat at the foxes we hear about how Maresca has got on and what the Foxes fans think, recruitment after the inevitable departures are covered including Hemel Hempstead born Harry Winks, and we cover two Leicester player who had loan spells at the Hornets and Mordor FC respectively one of whom had massive hair!!

We hear how Leicester have been setting up in terms of system with a lot of possession and heavy on ball retention which Phillip has found frustrating on occasions, we discuss Everton’s 10 point deduction for Profit and Sustainability rules being broken and Phillip seems fairly magnanimous about it all but asks, quite rightly, about the Premier Leagues approach to financial fair play – preventing Pete from having another rant at the football authorities (for once). Carl looks forward to Man City appearing in the Northern League at some stage. Pete asks about Nigel Pearsons forearms and winning the Premier League, the tragic loss of their owner, an incredibly poignant 1881 banner moment and how the FFP rules seem to be to try to stop another team outside the top six/seven to repeat their success.

The Prediction League sees Pete fail to control the proceedings per normal, John does some drawing (Badly Drawn Watford now has a copycat with felt tip pens!!!) as his printer isn’t working and then goes to the pub, Ben and Jarvis make a trip to a local football ground, Phillip tries to make a draw prediction but is unreasonably prevented from doing so! Finally, we all conclude that we are old, grumpy and cynical and see that as a good thing!!

Danny Ion returns to defend the family honour as on a previous post match phone in Carl questioned Becky's use of mayonnaise with Chinese food. Having scored all 5 penalties in his first appearance Danny is determined to vanquish Carl despite seemingly being even more aghast about Becky's condiment combinations!!!

Justin asks if the opponent can finish off the other teams penalties, Pete keeps using the word "triumphing" and hoping no notices and Carl staunchly refuses to identify the opposition in the commentary question!! Danny compares them up (or down) the road to cheap non Helman's mayonnaise!

We are joined by “Blue Cheese” Brett Leboff who has delayed his dinner to join us. Brett gets very descriptive of the penalties he and Carl either score or miss! Never one to use 5 words when 5,000 will do - Brett questions the questions, his opponent, and the basis of reality itself. Carl meantime tries to keep his winning streak going before finally comparing himself to a circus bear! Brett also tries to stay in the game longer than possible, Pete loses track of the score along with the will to live whilst trying to get an answer out of Brett and Justin feels like he’s in a tumble dryer.

We cover in detail the stewarding incident from Saturday, the excellent Armistice Day commemoration, stewarding again, peoples’ roles and responsibilities, stewards again (again) and how the ground is arranged if safe standing became a thing – oh and stewarding!

We learn about Justins “Wendover’s chest crumb food identification game”, Carl brings up “radiator water” again, Who would we sign if in striking distance of a play off place in January, Carl’s other half makes another brief sweary appearance following her debut on last weeks spaces, and we explain why we all like Jake Livermore and Ken Sema and quite like Mileta Rajovic even though he can’t seem to control a football but will score goals when the wingers aren’t inverted and Pete makes the startling revelation that we are not Barcelona! (Thanks for that Sherlock!!)

Hamer’s appearance and his distribution is compared to Bachmann’s, Pete invents the phrases “twitch worthy” and “reassuringly basic”, name drops like crazy and then asks that the whole team have a plan as to how we counterattack   from corners and defensive set pieces.

We discuss the latest rumour of the rumours that came out at the weekend regarding the suggestion that Warner Bros might look to invest in the club before Justin and Pete make terrible attempts at American accents! Pete talks about the financial and personnel issues across the Pozzo group as time rolls on.

Finally a question about our trip to the Football Content Awards degenerates into squabbily nonsense about Chinese food, whether stewards would search for mayonnaise (or other condiments), counterfeit beer in Liverpool and the World vs Carl becoming a place to reclaim family and podcast honour and Carlos feels put upon!
