It's time! We've finally gotten to sit back down and have an Alpha Female discussion. Spring is in the air and with it will come extremely LONG days for Craig so we knew we had to get it in. Listen as he shares what's going on down on the farm and we chat about our family updates.
Corn is up in prices and we've been preparing the fields and the equipment to get the highest yield. Craig shares what that looks like as we try to record in a house full of needy kids!
He's also taken up day trading and watching a ton of financial shows. His interest has been piqued and he's been reading and learning and watching which is why he hasn't actually done much investing yet. But it's fun to hear him talk about it.
The first thing Craig doesn't know… I want to get rid of these kittens. There's definitely more but after my Grandma passed away we split up her cats and the older cats are just so much more manageable. Also, I'm getting my ears pierced again!
Craig and I have so much fun doing these episodes and giving you a peek into our lives and our family. We hope you enjoy it today!
"When you are married to an alpha female, remember the mantra, it's no big deal." Errin and Craig Weisman

In the spirit of protecting my clients' information, I'm always hesitant to share the wins that they're seeing. However I had a few clients recently share some of their wins and how they've been conquering their fears and I had to share. Listen in to hear some inspirational changes.
Because really, what's the point if we're not sharing the changes we've made for the better right?
These three clients of mine have committed to documenting their wins over staying mired in fear and it has been amazing to see how their lives have changed. Fear will keep you stuck if you let it.
Which is why you have to break through the cycle of fear and make sure that you're prepared and ready to receive all that life has to offer.
I also share a metaphor for how I viewed my burned out self. Have you ever seen the movie Moana? My burned out self was Taka. Listen in to hear more about that and why we should all strive to be Tefiti instead.
"The action is what is going to propel you forward." Dr. Errin Weisman
In this episode:[00:57] Welcome to this super sassy solocast.
[02:24] I am going to start this podcast by reading some wins.
[05:43] If you go in and ask for changes, what is the worst thing that can happen?
[09:35] I want to do some teaching around fear and the big scaries.
[11:42] Our brains try to trap us in the negative bias.
[13:25] I want to remind you to just take the next best step.
[15:13] Don't forget my monthly masterclass!

We all experience burnout differently, something you'll learn as you listen to these episodes, so it's important for me to share my experience with you! Listen in as I dig deep into what I was thinking, feeling, and doing when I was in the deep pit of burnout.
I first experienced burnout within the first few weeks of my attending job. Here I was with the big beautiful new job, the husband and two babies at home and a mountain of student debt. I was supposed to be on the mountain high but I felt lower than I ever had in my life.
Exhaustion was the root of my life. There was no amount of sleep or rest that made me feel energetic and I just felt terrible. I was snapping at my husband. I was angry all the time and if I wasn't angry, I was completely numb.
Externally my life looked amazing. I appeared to have it all. But the cost of having it all was really taking its toll. Once I finally found myself in the basement of burnout I found my first coach and she helped me realize where the burnout truly stemmed from. I wanted to help people. I wanted to heal people. But there are so many different ways to do that.
Now, six years later and I'm doing exactly what I love and am meant to do. Keep listening in to hear the amazing stories of women just like you who have faced the pits of burnout and risen out of the ashes refreshed, rejuvenated, and revitalized!
"I'm a woman who speaks openly about being burned out as a family medicine physician so that no other working professional woman feels alone in her workplace journey." Dr. Errin Weisman
In this episode:[02:12] Welcome to the first episode of Burned Out to Bad Ass!
[02:40] I experienced physician burnout within the first couple of weeks of my new attending job.
[04:16] Burnout to me felt like numbness, crushing, and being trapped.
[05:48] Externally my life looked awesome.
[07:43] I hit the valley of burnout and then found the basement.
[10:29] In the spring of 2015 I found a coach that understood and heard me.
[12:12] I was put on this earth to heal and help. Being a physician isn't the only way to accomplish that.
[14:11] I started getting coaches training and started making changes.
[15:30] Six years later, I am doing what I am excited about.
[17:25] Know in your heart that you are not alone, you are not crazy and you are not wrong. Change is absolutely possible.
[18:05] I want you to take an internal evaluation of your life and say, is this enough? Am I satisfied with what I am doing?
[19:03] Thank you for listening!

Ever feel completely overwhelmed by the emotions you feel while you're at work or around other people? Do difficult situations touch you on a deeper level than they appear to with others in your sphere? Then lady, you might be an empath. Listen in as Dr. Sheetal Ajmani and I chat about the realizations we had in our careers and how we've learned to better cope.
What is an empath? Per Merriam-Webster, an empath is "one who experiences the emotions of others." Sound familiar? So many female physicians are in fact empaths and they just don't realize it, thinking that they're simply being "emotional."
But it goes so much deeper than that…
Empaths take on the emotions of those around them, which means if you're a doctor working in pediatric urgent care, you likely feel drained after each and every shift. Sheetal did and once she realized what was going on, she knew exactly how to address it.
Sheetal believes in the power of allopathic remedies combined with homeopathic regimens and has worked hard to merge her work in Ayurvedic healing with medicine. Listen as she shares an exercise we can all use to build up our own bubble shields and why your empathy is a superpower AND kryptonite.
"An Empath feels all the feels, we really feel what other people are feeling." Dr. Sheetal Ajmani
In this episode:[04:26] Welcome to the show, Sheetal!
[06:00] Sheetal shares what an Empath looks like in a high performing career.
[09:32] Being an Empath is truly a gift, and it can also lead to burnout.
[13:10] Sheetal speaks about how she has balanced her allopathic side with her holistic side.
[17:42] Learn more about the shielding bubble exercise Sheetal taught me.
[18:09] Sheetal shares how to do the bubble shield exercise.
[20:12] Sheetal leads us through the bubble meditation.
[24:01] Why your bubble is so important.
[25:34] Sheetal speaks about her Reclaim Your Radiance course.

Have you ever thought to yourself, maybe I'm just meant to be an entrepreneur? Me personally, I didn't until I stepped out and realized what it was about being an employee that made me so unhappy. I need to do my own thing, make my own rules, and have my own impact. Sound familiar?
Shannon Claire has always been a rebel and it's her out of the box way of thinking that has served her well in the entrepreneurial world. After becoming a teen mom, building a family, having that family torn apart, and finding herself as a business owner, she has a lot to share!
You don't have to feel shame for wanting more. She felt trapped by her faith in a marriage that was toxic and abusive, but she finally found her way out and is now thriving.

What do you do after building your own businesses for over 30 years? Share the knowledge with others coming up behind you. That's exactly what Kc Rossi is doing now. After starting and ending multiple businesses, she realized that she loved helping others to do the same in a way that aligned with their soul purpose.
She's here today to share why it's important to actually implement what you've learned in courses, life, and business. Self-leadership means you take all the theory that you've learned and start to create daily habits that help you make a positive change.
You don't need someone elses process to get started. Instead align with your own rules and blueprint and become the trendsetter yourself. Fear holds so many of us back, but the best way to beat the fear is to just go ahead and take action.
Listen as Kc chats about our tendency to compare ourselves to others and how that process is actually holding us back. Your soul is unlike anyone else's, so comparison doesn't serve you. We're digging deep today! You definitely won't want to miss it!
Also, I was recently on Kc's podcast too! Head here to check it out.
"I am a forever learner and I really ended up on kind of a course carousel taking one certification program after another and really was like what am I going to be when I grow up." KC Rossi
In this episode:[02:36] Welcome to the show, KC!
[02:48] KC shares what she does and the magic she puts out in the world.
[04:13] The transition to coaching.
[06:36] Why she chose the word self-leadership.
[09:33] Compare and despair: it doesn't lead to a flourishing life or business.
[11:17] Her view on social media and why she is a fan of digital minimalism.
[15:00] I'm thinking about moving off social media and not doing FB ads.

Woman, I see you! If you're walking around feeling exhausted and drained and wondering where you'll get the energy to just make it through the next day, then I used to be you! You are doing so much and you are doing GREAT!
I'm sending out this love letter to all of the Alpha Females out there who are busy making everything happen. Leave fear in the corner of the room and listen in to hear an amazing poem that my team sent me. This is not you against the world, it's all Alpha's against the world. We need to spend more time lifting each other up and having each other's backs, and that's what I'm doing with you!
Take back all of your M&M's and leave the rest behind. I've been feeling called to just put some quick words of encouragement out there. I don't know who needs to hear this, but I do know that sometimes it's those quick words that get us through! Let me know if these help you!
"You're not granola, you don't have to put up with the nasty raisins to get the M&M's you can just have all the M&M's." Dr. Errin Weisman

We've all felt the slump that this past year has brought. So many of us have felt stuck. Whether in our jobs, our homes, our workouts, or maybe in our relationships, we've felt like things have stopped. When Dr. Michelle Quirk started feeling this, she decided to build some momentum and get moving.
She's an avid runner and has built a coaching business designed to help professional women to prioritize their well-being through fitness. She knew that if she was feeling that "stuckness" then it was time to do something about it.
How did she move forward? She started evaluating her emotions and why she was feeling the way that she was. Instead of feeling the restlessness that cancelled races started to have on her, she decided to rest in the pause.
Michelle started to refocus and figure out ways that she could alter her normal schedule of events and still create community and connection. She's now running some virtual challenges and helping women step away from being stuck by starting with bite-sized goals.
It doesn't matter if you're on mile 0 or 1000, you have to start somewhere. Listen in to hear all about Michelle's story, how she's helping women, and how you can connect with her and start gaining some of your own momentum.
"It's been a huge thing for me to show that the sport is available to everybody if they want it, and you don't have to be a certain size or look a certain way." Dr. Michelle Quirk
In this episode:[02:16] Welcome back to the show, Dr. Michelle Quirk!
[02:55] Dr. Quirk shares all the amazing things she is doing in the world.
[05:47] Listen as Dr. Quirk discusses why she chose the word momentum.
[07:33] The pandemic has taken the wind out of so many people's sails with the loss of connection.
[10:42] Dr. Quirk speaks about the whole experience of doing races and how she misses having them on her calendar.
[11:26] It might be a good time to embrace the pause and then refocus and figure out why you are doing what you are doing.
[13:37] Dr. Quirk shares some virtual challenges they have done.
[15:00] Email me if you want to participate in a Doctor Me First 5K Race.
[15:40] Dr. Quirk believes you should start with bite-size goals when getting back to exercise or just starting.
[17:41] You don't have to crush it every day; keep your easy runs easy. The first step is putting on your sneakers.
[19:22] Thank you for being on the show!

I recently had a listener write in and ask me to expand on ways to avoid burnout, before it even happens. Graduation is just around the corner for many med students and one thing your degree doesn't cover is the effects of burnout and how to avoid it.
When I received the request to go over this topic from Taylor, I thought it was an amazing idea. So, my tips for avoiding burnout or if you've already beaten it, keeping it at bay!
First, get your stuff straight now. Write out how you're feeling, your general thoughts, anything that's going on right now for you. Write it all out and do this for a week, a month, two months. Don't wait to start this process!
Then start where you're at. Meet your basic needs today. Think Maslow here. If you have basic needs that aren't being met, get them met! You can't do better for yourself and others if your basic needs are still outstanding.
Next, learn the difference between thoughts, facts, and feelings. There IS a difference between these and knowing the difference allows you to take better stock of your mindset day in and day out.
Last, get really comfortable with fear and how to talk to it. I mean that literally. We all have fears, but your fears don't get a voice in your decisions, your life, or your needs. Learn how to put fear in its place and to keep moving and striding forward and you'll find so much more fulfillment.
When you have a better idea of your own personal needs and how they're affected by the profession you've chosen, you'll be steps closer to fighting off the clutches of burnout! Have questions? Reach out! I'm only an email away.
"We have gotten so good at delayed gratification that we don't even realize when it slips around our neck and becomes a noose." Dr. Errin Weisman
In this episode:[03:04] Here are my five top tips for staying out of burnout.
[03:16] My first tip is to get your stuff straight now.
[04:13] Tip #2: Start where you are at now, meet your basic needs today.
[05:49] You must learn the difference between thoughts, facts and feelings.
[10:16] Tip #4: What is your dream life?
[12:19] My final tip is to learn to have a conversation with fear.
[15:18] Let me know if you have topics you want me to do solocasts on.

It's amazing how vulnerable being clear with others can make you feel. Think about it. How often do you tell people how you truly feel? How often do you speak out with clarity and confidence about what you need? Kelli Thompson is a leadership coach who is passionate about helping women find their clarity and confidence.
After spending years in corporate America she realized that her passion lay in helping women make it into the rooms where decisions are made. Not as the "token" HR representative but as an impactful member of the conversation.
She's joining me to chat about why clarity is so important to her and why she has made it her mission to help other women find theirs. Because when women advance, they're much more likely to reach back and help others as well. Listen as she shares more about her background and experience and what she's doing to help more women reach new heights in business and leadership. Stop climbing the wrong career ladders using outdated information! Take a page out of Kelli's book and change your mindset.
Because our need to rise to the top and be more productive and ear more recognition is one of the main causes of burnout. But there IS a better way!
"The more clear I got, the more successful I was, the more clear I got, the happier I was, and the more clear I got, the more money I made." Kelli Thompson
In this episode:[02:16] Welcome to the show, Kelli!
[02:29] Kelli shares a little about herself and what she is doing now.
[04:37] Women believe that if they want to be successful, they need to act like their male counterparts.
[07:15] What causes burnout is the pressure to conform.
[10:04] Only 23% of women are senior executives; something has to give.
[13:25] Listen as Kelli shares why she picked the word Clarity.
[17:13] Why she focuses so much on women.
[20:23] It's not enough to fill a chair in the room where decisions are made.
[23:15] "At the end of the day, someone is counting on your unique calling."
[26:01] Kelli discusses her new group program that starts March 23rd called The Clarity & Confidence Leadership Masterclass.
[27:09] Thank you for being on the show!
