Listen Later

This episode makes sense of all the noise we have heard about how you know it is time to divorce.  No one can help us more that guest Kim Geiken; who was a divorce mediation client and became a mediator.  Join us as we discuss the three A's.  Addiction, Abuse and Adultery, some say they lead to a sure fire path to divorce.  Others say they are the only reason to divorce.  We re-examine Brian Burns 4 step process:  1.  Know yourself-Are you willing to change and grow to make the marriage work?  2.  Check-in with your spouse, are they willing to change and grow to make the marriage work?  3.  If it's new give yourself time (maybe 6 months) being your best self; taking care of your own lane - to re-evaluate.  4.  Know you have done your best and follow your gut.  We discuss that knowing you did your best and that you tried everything not only makes you feel good about your decision; it also helps you have tools that assist you in divorcing together better.  Kim shares her story of growth and connection.  And how this is fundamental to any partnership.
