As those are the first two names being linked to the Dolphins for their open defensive coordinator position. Mike talks about why there may be some red flags with Vic Fangio that Dolphins fans are unaware of and why looking in another direction may not be the worst thing in the world. Also, why Sean Desai may be a better fit "personality" wise with Mike McDaniel. Mike also talks about the NFL playoff results and has a little fun with the #BillsMafia after their loss to the Bengals on Sunday. As the old adage goes, "Good news on Mondays, bad news on Fridays." For Josh Boyer, the bad news came on Thursday as the Miami Dolphins announced that they had relieved their Defensive Coordinator of his duties.
As the week crept along, it was beginning to feel like maybe the Dolphins weren't going to make any changes to the defensive coaching staff after all. But the news many Dolphins fans expected finally arrived on Thursday afternoon. Along with Boyer, the Dolphins also parted ways with safeties coach Steve Gregory, outside linebackers coach Ty McKenzie and assistant linebackers coach Steve Ferentz. Of those dismissed, Ty McKenzie was the only coach who had just completed his first season with the team.
Where do the Dolphins go from here? Who are the top candidates to replace Boyer? Is Danny Crossman safe? Aaron and Josh discuss it all on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!

Defeat. We all had a feeling it would be coming. We just didn't think it would be like this.
The Dolphins fell into an early 17-0 hole in Buffalo and it seemed as if Dolphins fans were going to be in for yet another playoff blowout loss. Instead, the team turned it around and fought back, taking a lead in the third quarter and fighting until the very end in a tough, gritty 34-31 loss. The performance of the shorthanded Dolphins was admirable, but it was a tough pill to swallow as many of the little things that had cost the Dolphins in lower stakes situations throughout the regular season contributed to the team's playoff downfall.
Still, there is much to be proud of and positive about. Aaron and Josh talk through it all on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!

On today’s DolphinsTalk.com Post Game Wrap-Up Show, Mike and Tom break down the Dolphins' playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills. Not many gave Miami a chance to win today, and the Dolphins did show up and play a very competitive game but came up short in the end. The guys talk about the play of Skylar Thompson, some questionable playcalling decisions by head coach Mike McDaniel, and Miami's inability to run the football. They also talk about Miami's defense having two interceptions and forcing a fumble they ran back for a touchdown. They look back on the 2022 season and discuss Miami's future. As well as talk about the ESPN Adam Schefter report from Sunday morning that Miami is sticking with Tua in 2023. Is this the right call, and what does this decision mean in the big picture? All of this and more on today’s DolphinsTalk.com Post-Game Wrap-Up Show.

When the shorthanded Miami Dolphins were able to do just enough in Week 18 to earn a playoff berth, the hope (more so than the expectation) was that Tua Tagovailoa would clear the NFL's concussion protocol in time to return for the Wild Card round and give the Dolphins a fighting chance on the road against the Bills.
Unfortunately, that was not to be.
Instead, the Dolphins remain shorthanded as rookie 7th round pick Skylar Thompson leads the team into Buffalo. The odds are stacked against them, as DraftKings lists the Bills as 13.5-point favorites as of Thursday evening. But, in a way, that should allow the Dolphins to come into the game relaxed, as the expectation of most people is that the Bills will have their way with the Dolphins.
Can Miami take advantage and shock the world? What does Mike McDaniel need to do to prepare his team for the monumental task facing them? Is there a road to success this Sunday? Aaron and Josh discuss on the first ever PLAYOFF GAME PREVIEW episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!

On today’s DolphinsTalk.com Podcast, Mike and Ian discuss the Dolphins all of the big news in the world of the Miami Dolphins. It's playoff week, and Mike and Ian preview this weekend's Miami Dolphins playoff game vs. the Buffalo Bills. How will Miami fare with numerous offensive tackles unable to suit up and play? Can Skylar Thompson win a playoff game on the road? What does Miami's offense and defense need to do to pull off this major upset with Miami having so many players out or at less than 100% this weekend? Also, the guys talk about Tua's future in the NFL and in Miami, as many NFL Insiders believe that even if Tua wants to play, Miami may move on due to his durability issues. And we have reports from NBC that sources close to Tom Brady say that playing in Miami next season isn't off the table, and we know how much Stephen Ross and Chris Grier have flirted with Tom Brady the past two offseasons. So, could the third time be the charm? All of this and more on this episode of the DolphinsTalk.com Podcast.
