DAMTT: My Pet Parrot OR My Parrot Needs a Line Not a Cracker

Join Stacy Heller and Eric Reidar in this week’s episode as Stacy battles her ongoing ankle woes (she’s definitely not up for Eric’s proposed “Jumping Jacks” segment), and Eric recounts his misadventures in car shopping—a saga filled with lemons and zero lemonade. For their Cultural Blindspot, both tackle The Godfather, experiencing plenty of ah-ha moments, a few ohs, and some definite ewws. And when it comes to teaching a pet parrot to talk, well, let’s just say the parrot speaks for itself. Expect the usual witty banter, meandering tangents, and more on Don’t Ask Me to Talk! DAMTT: Homework

Join Eric Reidar and Stacy Heller as they follow tangents and share real-life misadventures. This week they discuss undiagnosed ankle woes, too-short fireworks, wine tasting in Canada, European travel plans, and Stacy’s Instagram catch-up. No topic is off-limits for Dear Crabby, even family vacations. Eric and Stacy also tackle Cultural Blindspots—this time comparing blockbuster movies and giving a nod to Murderbot, Taskmaster and Adam Sandler movies. When they finally get to homework, there’s far more to discuss than anyone expected. Tune in for witty banter and unexpected detours! DAMTT is on Facebook and Instagram as dontaskmetotalk. • Best Movie Line

    DAMTT: Best Movie Line

Stacy and Eric kick off the episode discussing which band they'd want to perform at their next birthday. Eric prefers a meltdown, while Stacy chooses Billy Joel. They touch on fireworks, Gertie being a stinker, Stacy’s ankle pain, and Eric’s diagnosis of her ankle (rude!) and his Cultural Blindspot, Vertigo. The conversation shifts to Hitchcock films, Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak, the song "Carlotta Valdez," and finally classic movie quotes, with Eric contributing his usual unexpected references. DAMTT: 16 Personalities?

Stacy and Eric return with lively, yet relatable tangents. This time, they chatted about lake life including wasp troubles on Stacy’s veranda, and *The Great Jam Sandwich*, which Eric somehow hasn’t read. Meanwhile, as a jack of all trades and master of none, Eric juggles fixing a leaky pipe, dealing with a dead rat, and installing a futuristic dishwasher that may be energy healing.

They debate cherry trees, brainstorm summer family activities, and wrap up Eric’s Star Wars journey with *Return of the Jedi*. Stacy revisits Stuart Woods’ novels before joining Eric in a spirited discussion on their Myers-Briggs results and whether they matter. DAMTT is on Facebook and Instagram @dontaskmetotalk. DAMTT: Social Media Feed

We missed a week, but we have a back-catalog to enjoy. On his mini vacay, Eric got a sunburn and memories of the “mass” of people listening to country music at full volume. Stacy shared the anniversary song she commissioned Chaz Coats-Butcher to write, a catchy (if not generic) tune called “Love Letter” which reminded Eric of submitting a poem called “Spacehead” when he was 16 and very earnest. Next, they talk about their Cultural Blindspots with Eric going into *NERD ALERT* detail about The Empire Strikes Back to remind Stacy about the plot. Stacy had something to contribute this week before they got on the topic (and a soapbox) of social media feeds. • Manners

    DAMTT: Manners

Stacy botches the intro, but Eric shares his back-to-back gigs and bloody guitar incident before Stacy interrupts with an inane "cumcumber" cocktail story. They recover and the payoff is $3.61. Anniversary gift ideas for Stacy’s hubby are discussed. In Cultural Blindspots, Eric recommends Poker Face. Find out what’s rude when they discuss manners. • Feeling Lucky!

    DAMTT: Feeling Lucky!

Stacy and Eric are back, this time discussing Memorial Day, “merch,” and bumper stickers featuring stick figures in questionable poses. Dear Crabby is about engagement gifts; should you engage with them or ditch the Ninja Creami? In Cultural Blindspot news, Eric rewatched Month Python and The Holy Grail and continued his Star Wars side quest by watching (the pre-CGI spoiled version of) Star Wars. Stacy is reading the book Cat About Town, which is exactly what it sounds like, while Eric continues to win the niche battle with his current read. But he also shares trivia about how music, Liverpool, and Upstairs at Eric’s are all related. They finish the show with thoughts on what they’d do if they won the lottery, which might include and indoor pool and a soda fountain. DAMTT is on Facebook and Instagram @dontaskmetotalk. • Veggie Tales

    DAMTT: Veggie Tales

Co-hosts, Eric Reidar, and Stacy “I’m the other one” Heller kick off the show with a sponsorship pitch to Planters which ends in nutty controversy. After an update regarding his oatmeal consumption, Eric shares that his band, Battersea is finally selling merch which obviously segues into talk of Wimpy and other Popeye characters (did you know Bluto and Brutus are the same person?) and Robin Williams’ turn as the titular cartoon character. Dear Crabby tackles allowance which leads to some stark truths about parent’s “middle management” role versus CEO Santa. Stacy “listens” to the Netflix series The Residence en route to her lake house while Eric continues to let his Star Wars freak flag fly with Andor and Rogue One thoughts. This week’s Cultural Blindspot is unexpected, and the weekly topic is garden variety DAMTT. DAMTT on Facebook and Instagram @dontaskmetotalk. • SURPRISE!

    DAMTT: SURPRISE!

The heated debate continues, Stacy and Eric are still arguing about pizza topics from last episode’s topic. Soon talk of Mother’s Day, leaving reviews for restaurants, and “Ass” Crabby distracts the co-hosts. Eric finished OITNB and went on the hunt for Sean Connery’s accent in his Cultural Blindspot segment while Stacy’s blind spot almost got her hit with a foul ball! They are in agreement about surprise parties and wonder aloud whether anyone thinks they’re a good idea before devolving back into debate about pizza. Facebook and Instagram@dontaskmetotalk. • Pizza Toppings

    DAMTT: Pizza Toppings

The bridal shower Stacy hosted provided lots of fodder for the show this week; she thought her advice for the bride and groom was inspired, but Eric saw her advice and raised her wiper fluid! While Stacy finished watching White Collar, Eric continued to enjoy OITNB with Tacoma native Vicci Martinez especially now that they’ve begun doing a radio show with advice segment (OMG same!). Being a Phantasm fan versus a Four Seasons fan probably won’t cause as much heated debate as deep crusts and “supreme” pizzas. DAMTT is on Facebook and Instagram @dontaskmetotalk.
