Who Was Nimrod?

Great-grandson of Noah, grandson of Ham, Son of Cush

Mighty hunter, Mighty one on earth, Mighty hunter before the Lord (Mighty means manly, vigorous, hero, champion, tyrant, trapping men by force into his new kingdom)

The name “Nimrod” means “We will revolt.”

“The beginning of Nimrod’s Kingdom”—Kingdom means rule, dominion, king kingship

Where Was His Kingdom?

The beginning of Nimrod’s Kingdom was in the land of Shinar: Babel, Urek (Erech), Accad, and Calneh. Later he built Ninveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah, and Resen.

Nimrod did not just open himself up to the devil and sin against God, he urged and inspired others to fall away from God and serve satan. His sin affected others too.

Nimrod’s legacy is pride, death, destruction, and separation from God.
