In 1989, Jerry was on the phone with a travel agent, ready to book his seat on United Airlines Flight 232 from Denver to Chicago.

But something strange happened. His gut clenched. He felt sick. Anxious. When an earlier flight was mentioned, his body relaxed. Calm. Peace.

He didn't know why, but he listened. Later that day, from a car in New York with his wife and one-year-old child, he heard the news. Flight 232 had crashed. One hundred twelve people died.
