As an INTP, it's not been the easiest road when it comes to learning how to have patience for emotions. My version of helping someone is usually finding a solution to their problem. That can sometimes subvert or create a shortcut for someone who isn't ready for the later stage of what they're going through. On this episode I talk about the different stages of emotional challenges, how to identify them and how you can help someone in each of those stages or even recognize when you're not able to help someone. Part of what I do on this show is help identify if someone needs therapy or if they just need better support and I think this episode really exemplifies that idea. So, I'd love it if you'd join me on the episode and give me your feedback when you're done. How do you best help someone?

Today on the show we're talking about using social currency as a way to get out of or avoid poverty when you don't have a job or are trying to work as a freelancer. Just this morning I came across a Reddit post asking about what someone might do if they only had $600 and might end up homeless. My answer was to use social currency as a means to build rapport with shop owners or places that you could work at immediately and develop a network of people willing to hear your story and help you out. We dive into that idea quite a bit, relate it to mental health and being a freelancer.

Today on the show we're talking about using enneagram and chakras in my growth path as an INTP. I personally have had issues with trust and stability in my past which was brought out through my exploration with the enneagram and chakras. While some of this stuff can feel a bit too woo-woo for some people, I want to clarify that it's not about the content of dissonance that sometimes needs to occur to accept the ideas, it's about the descriptions of these types and what emotional response they prompt. It's almost as if we're looking for triggers on purpose to identify how we can learn from those triggers. If we don't know what's affecting us then how can we possibly grow from those things? That's exactly what I'm sharing and breaking down on this episode of DOPEamine!

Hey friends! Today on the show we're talking about ego defensiveness and humor development. In Myers-Briggs, it's typically known that the tertiary function is tied to ego defensiveness, that when you're arguing with someone they tend to bring their less-sophisticated tertiary function to the fight. That can be frustrating for the personal ego to not only use that function but frustrating for others to experience a side of you that they don't normally see. So, identifying that defensive behavior can be an important first step to understanding your personality type and how to grow your sense of humor, another form of ego defense, in a healthy constructive way. I'm in the early stages of my understanding this idea but we attempt to break it all down anyway here on DOPEamine! Let's go!

Today on the show we're diving into some deep dark topics to address how, as humans, we can avoid some of the most difficult feelings that come up for us. Often ones that involve death, violence and sexuality. We talk about how it is sometimes actually helpful to address these dark thoughts to figure out the origin of these days to figure out where to go next, decide if we need to speak to a therapist or if we need some support in our lives to give us space to work through an idea to come out on the other side of that idea.

Today on the show we're talking about managing our emotional state in the moment. What are some questions that we can ask ourselves to regulate our mood when we're dealing with high stress, triggers and other things in the moment? We take time to break down our environmental, physical and emotional needs to consider what's possible within ourselves to manage our emotional state in any given moment. I wanted to touch on this topic without simply saying "see a therapist" because that doesn't help with every day life. So, sit back and get comfy as we break down 3 way to change your mood. Let's go!

Today on the show we're talking about my time on the Personality Hacker Podcast, mental health in relation to being an INTP, where some mental health research can go and how the industrial world could be having a major effect on how we view ourselves. I want to continue to work towards improving the connection points between Myers-Briggs and mental health to better improve humanities of ourselves and help us live more fulfilling and happy lives.
