A look Down Memory Lane

I have good memories of my time as a teen. It has been over 60 years since I discovered this book. It showed the strengths and weaknesses of a family.

I recommend this to a teenage girl. Old language may be difficult but one could understand most of it.

I admired the character Jo. She knew herself and was Abe to make hard decisions that benefited her later in life.

This is my all time favorite book. I bought this as a Christmas present for a special little girl. She said she can't wait to read it. I told her let me know how she liked it. I'm hoping she loves it as much as I do.

A timeless classic.

I have reread this book several times. I own a hard copy, but got the download so I can carry it with me more easily. It's great for reading on a plane, or just lying in the hammock. I don't have to worry about messing up my precious book.

I never tire of the story or the characters. They are continually fresh and charming to me. I read this book first when I was in high school, 40 years ago, and have read it every couple years since. I also enjoy the movies. The more recent one is my favorite.

Good Lessons and Representation of various Personalities

I really enjoyed this book and the personalities represented. The only thing I didn't completely enjoy was the impression that I got that works are the way to heaven and the careful wording in regards to Biblical concepts, but I understand why an author may do so to keep from turning people off from the good lessons that can be drawn from this book.

Best book ever! LITTLE WOMEN is a classic I revisit so often I have parts of the text memorized. I loved the way it was set in the past (Civil War era) but the relationships and problems felt real, and that I could relate to them despite living in the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, etc. Jo March is a spunky girl with a good heart who doesn't always do the right thing and I think many women and men can relate to that. The writing is good enough, and never really drags but I do wish some parts had slowed downâdespite thisâa very serious favorite of mine.

Nothing Original About It!

Ive read this story a hundred times before, and the sad thing is, this book isnt even particularly well written. Ever is the most annoying character ever! She is boring, brainless, melodramatic and self-hating. She couldnt imagine how someone as gorgeous and mysterious as Damen could fall in love with someone like her, normal and plain. Even though she lived in a huge mansion and was described as beautiful many times throughout the book, she was still constantly moping around and feeling bad about herself. Sounds familiar huh? All in all, it was a waste of time.

Spiritual and romantic

This first book could be a single novel, a really romantic and good one.

I adore all the books of the series but specially this one.

I don't speak english and the audiobooks help me to learn it.

Happily Ever After?

I have been listening to and reading a lot of books that are very similar to Evermore and though I did enjoy it I think that Alyson Noel probably made the story harder than it should have been. It also reminded me a little of Lauren Kate's Fallen Series though if I had to choose I would probably go Lauren over Alyson.

I loved it but...

I did really enjoy it and I read and listen to a LOT of books. This was just a little too slow at the beginning. Having read similar and I'd imagine a lot of of readers are the same, you know that something is going to be revealed but also know that there is so much in that build up as well. I just it didn't take what felt like 20+ chapters to get there. I don't know, maybe I am just impatient!

This guy can write an ending !

As always Dan Stevens reads Zafon beautifully.

This is a mysterious story with other worldly elements but at its core is Friendship, love and I think a little hope tinged in old age

Well worth a listen

We'll narrated, well crafted story

Once again Zafon shows his masterly touch. He writes so vividly about the horrific transformations that Jahwal undergoes that the reader can readily see them . This is the second in his Niebla / Mist series each stands alone but are linked by the idea that one's soul can have a dark side.

Superb narration of a gripping story

This is a wonderfully enchanting story, with an ever building interest. It is a very satisfying mystery, with tremendous poetry and passion.

The narrators performance is amazing, with consistent, distinguishable voices for every character, bring the story to life more so than reading the words. I highly recommend it!

Pretty Good

Second book was pretty good. Some parts were pretty emotional! On to the next book.

This boos is an amazing 2nd book in the series it is a wonderful and amazing expression of forgiveness and the importance of love and peace. Personally I think that this book is for everyone, I can't wait to read the third book

What did you love best about Shimmer?

It's easy listening.

What did you like best about this story?

I like how the story melts between the life of a young 12 yr. old who finds herself struggling and dealing with her own afterlife as well as what happened in her life before she had an afterlife, and her interaction with her "spiritual guide" and dog who accompanies her.

Which scene was your favorite?

There's a scene where the dog is facing his fears of separation, & how the girl manages to help him overcome that fear - very touching description.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The scene where the dog was curled up & in fear did make me feel for him.

Good book. Required for my daughter school

So far it's a hit.

I bought five of these A to Z Mysteries for my 8-year-old son's birthday, and he has devoured all of them. He is not yet done with this particular book, but likes very much what he has read so far. I am pleased that he immediately took to them and wanted to start reading them right away; they kept him interested from start to finish. I definitely intend to get more of these books.

We have been reading through this history book for several years and love it, but our version was a pretty poor paperback reprint. I love this version of it! The color pictures make an immeasurable difference and the text is wonderfully clear (as in we experienced several pages in our old version where the text was so blurred we couldn't read it). So glad this is available in this format now!

A Well Written Story About Britain

This book is an excellent historical work about Britain and it is written for young children. It starts in the fog of ancient myths and ends with the Boer War. If a person wishes to get a very simple, very readable, and very enjoyable book about British history, than this is the scroll to buy.

Simplistic

Simplistic, but a fair overview of English/British history for someone in a hurry; I used it to check basic background while reading a novel about King Edward II, and it was effective for that. The book was obviously written for children.

Treasure

This book is a treasure. I am learning right along with my girls. All the stories highlight strong moral character traits. Like honesty, courage, kindness, and love. Wonderful!!!

Print too small for younger readers!

While the story itself is good, I bought it to read with my son. The print is entirely too small. It is poorly printed. It should have been done in larger print. I realize that would make it a thicker book, but the way it is done is not at all useful for younger readers, and if you are following the book list, this is recommended for younger readers. I was really frustrated because although I had it in electronic format, I try to limit my child's reading to books. I didn't send it back, but I wish I had.
