Thrust together during the investigation, he and Izzy find themselves reluctantly attracted to one another, and begin an affair. Meanwhile, the killer is much closer than they think. Another great installment
A first I wasn't sure I was interested in a story with ASAC Frazer but once it started I was hooked. Frazer wore his mask well but Izzy was able to get behind it and see the real man. ASAC Frazer is a sexy little beast...lol. He had control in everything he did even when things were out of his control.
I loved Izzy. She was a strong character but I was a bit disappointed that we didn't see that strength when it came to protecting herself. We were told she was capable, we felt she was capable but when it came down to it she needed a man's help.
Kit was an annoying little shit but i'll chalk that up to her being a 17yr old who thinks she knows everything and is owed anything she wants.
Overall I enjoyed the story and the writing. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was listening. This was a great installment in the series. I started the series at book 2 with each passing book i'm more and more determined to swing back to book 1. The tidbits dropped about Parker and Rooney make me believe that their story was an explosive start to a great series.

What does Eric G. Dove bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
His wonderful narration brings to life Toni Anderson's characters.

    Disappointing
Because it was written by one of my favorite authors, I felt good about giving it a try. Now I'm sorry that I wasted a credit. It was fair at best. James Langton was as fine as he always is, but even he couldn't make it a good read and I was glad when it was over. Hopefully, she will go back to what she does well. For a really good mystery read, I prefer Peter Robinson, many of which are also read by Langton. There we find characters we care about as well as a really great story.
    Above My Head
I tried to like it, but after 3 chapters it was a no go and I gave up. I hope it works for someone else.
Gets rolling 1/3 of the way through.
As the first novel in new series it isn't a grabber, immediately, but 1/3 through I really connected with the characters, and the mystery itself is great!
    Marvelous and wonderful
I almost did not purchase this book due to the lukewarm reviews. This this is a GREAT book, in the finest Agatha Christie tradition. The story line is complex and the characters are intriguing. The narrator makes it easy to distinguish between them. The story line proceeds at a good clip you are not tempted to skip ahead. And as in all great literature there are themes of redemption and heroism from unlikely sources. There is no overt humor in the book but you will smile remembering the story. This is a book you will want to keep and reread by the sea. I was so impressed with this authors work I am buying a paperback for my guest room. And may buy more copies for gifts for my mystery loving friends.
    A very entertaining listen
A interesting combination of characters. I am looking forward to hearing from them again in the next installment.

    Narrator: Dick Hill
    Format: Abridged
Length: 7 hrs and 30 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-08-15
    Publisher: Random House Audio
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 47 votes
Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Modern Detective
    Publisher's Summary:
Stephen King calls Jack Reacher "the coolest continuing series character" - and now he's back in this masterful new thriller from number-one New York Times best-selling author Lee Child.
"Why is this town called Mother's Rest?" That's all Reacher wants to know. But no one will tell him. It's a tiny place hidden in 1,000 square miles of wheat fields, with a railroad stop, sullen and watchful people, and a worried woman named Michelle Chang, who mistakes him for someone else: her missing partner in a private investigation she thinks must have started small and then turned lethal.
Reacher has no particular place to go and all the time in the world to get there, and there's something about Chang...so he teams up with her and starts to ask around. He thinks: How bad can this thing be? But before long he's plunged into a desperate race through LA, Chicago, Phoenix, and San Francisco and through the hidden parts of the Internet, up against thugs and assassins every step of the way - right back to where he started, in Mother's Rest, where he must confront the worst nightmare he could imagine.
Walking away would have been easier. But, as always, Reacher's rule is: If you want me to stop, you're going to have to make me.

    great read
this kept my attention and I finished in a week on my commutes. fun read and I enjoyed their travels to various cities. made me wonder about the deep Web.
A trip to the dark side
Another Reacher adventure. Charters were well, developed and easy to follow. Interesting plot which held interest throughout. Dick Hill is always great.
Same story different location and girl
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
all my friends who have read this agree with my comment
What was most disappointing about Lee Childs story?
I have read every Jack Reacher book and love them. This one wasn't exciting or thrilling. It was more Reacher just ambling along and oh yes--someone needs his help.
Which character as performed by Dick Hill was your favorite?
Dick Hill was the saving grace of this book. I have listened to him on other books but HE IS JACK REACHER! He is fabulous and I would have quit the book if it wasn't for his narration.
What character would you cut from Make Me?
    no one
    Any additional comments?
a little more action. it seemed too sedate
    Tedious
I'm an avid Jack reacher fan, but this novel locked his usual flare and personality. I just didn't care for the characters and the way it went on and on with practically no action until the end. Disappointing
I should have listened to this previous reviews.
I've read and enjoyed every Reacher novel, this was by far the worst. Slow, boring and the narration was awful.

I haven't been this excited with an author in years!
Best of the first three storylines! Julia knows how to balance a book. Just the right amount of humor, drama and even a sprinkling of spirituality! Narrator brings EACH character to life! Perfect inflection.
PS I also haven't been this excited since I discovered Diane Mott Davidson!
PPS if anyone feels up to correcting my grammar, please do so. LOL
I am enthralled with this series.
I loved this, and can't wait to read the next book in this series. On to the next book
My favorite so far in the series.
The plot is unique and complex. I especially enjoyed the flashback chapters from Mrs. Ketchum in the 1920s. It lead me to research the Adirondacks and their geography. Maps seem to bring a story to life for me even if Miller's Kill is a fictional town. Suzanne Toren's narrative helped me to appreciate the personalities and emotions of the characters especially Rev. Claire Ferguson. On to book four!

Jaya Jones and Gigi Pandian Fan for sure.
Quicksand: Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt Mystery Book 3
This was a thrilling Treasure Hunt that Jaya was presented with. Finding a long lost treasure and restoring the reputation of her family's hero were impossible to resist.
I enjoyed the alternating POV(Points of View) between Jaya and her great-granduncle Anand.
While understanding why he did it, I was sad that Lane left Jaya for her own good. I was tickled that he couldn't help but want to protect her afterwards. I loved the way that Jaya put him told him exactly what she thought of his unilateral decision to end their relationship. These two are an entertaining pair.
    Excellent narrator!

    a good enough one
The first books in thi series were fun to read. So I jumped at the chance to catch this book. I didn't like the plot of this one- too many out of town characters plotting a too big crime wave. But I did enjoy the author's SW living story telling.

    Shocking Ending!
I have listened to every book in this series & it's only because I've grown to love Angelica, Mr. Everett & the other townsfolk. The main character, Tricia, is easily one of the most unlikeable unrelateable characters in any cozy mystery series. So, if you like to get into a book where you get attached
to the main character then this series will not fit the bill! Tricia is grumpy, rude, cynical, non charitable & overall someone you are cheering for to lose, which is an odd choice. So be warned about that!
However, I enjoy the other characters so much that I continue to read/listen. And I was very pleased with this latest installment. I did NOT see the ending coming at all, it was a complete shock. If you read all the books you are so entangled in these characters lives that you will be surprised in every way with how it ends. Great story, great plot line & great performance on this story!
    Ten Stars
This is the best book in the series. Lorna Barrett has out done herself. I started listening to this book while starting out on my morning errands and did not stop listening until I finished that evening. I am still processing the ending and wondering what Lorna is going to do with Trisha in the next book. All I can say is wow!!!!!
Thank God there's only one more to go ...
    Any additional comments?
I've gone this far, I might as well go on to the next. I saw the ending coming a mile away, so it was no big surprise. The surprise, however, continues to be Tricia's amazing unlikeability. Unapologetically, humorlessly judgemental. The author must have awful food issues. I don't think we've ever seen Tricia get through a meal without 'losing her appetite' ... or trying to fat shame anyone who even looks twice at a dessert or potato chip. And even though it has no relationship to the story whatsoever, anyone she meets who fits the bill, needs to be described by how fat they are. Because it's so unnecessary, it's a little jarring to hear. I hate to say it ... but you DO find yourself thinking 'well she deserved THAT' every time something awful happens to her. She always accuses everyone she can think of and then hopes no one will think ill of her. Everyone simply loves her and by the end of every single book, I ask myself why. I was going to quit the series, but when I saw I only had one left, I figured I'd see what happens to the other characters who are rendered much more entertaining to know.
    True cozy mystery
i really enjoyed this series so much. can't wait.

    Just okay
I didn't find it as enjoyable as the first book in the Mindhunters series, but it was an okay read.
    Awesome
This book was awesome from beginning to end. I loved not being able to figure out who the killer/killers were. I started to suspect Rollins just before he was revealed which make this book even better for me, because I usually know who it is halfway through a book. Love it!
    Hooked on this series!
Had ordered this second book even before I finished the first book in this series. Like the story and the characters! This is an author I will continue to follow....have already ordered the third book! Have recommended this author to friends!
I loved the characters - Caitlin and her assistant
This story was riveting from the beginning. I loved the characters - Caitlin and her assistant. Did not see the unexpected ending. I llke this writer and this series.
    Like Nothing I've Read Before...
This is another talented author I am so glad to have recently discovered. Since this book was published in 2009 and only has 20 reviews so far, I'd say Ms. Brant is highly under-rated. If your looking for an extremely well written romantic suspense with multi-faceted characters and an intriguing plot, you should definitely pick this one up. Although it's the second in the 'Mindhunters' series it can absolutely standalone. But the first book in this series 'Waking Nightmare' was so wonderful I'd recommend reading it too. What a delight it was to see the couple from that story make a brief appearance in this one and learn what they were up to now. This does have a bit of the occult but it never overtakes the story and only adds to the mystery and suspense.
Ramsey and Dev were both unique and well-fleshed individuals. I loved the way Dev "got her" on a deeper level. Both have emotional scars, especially Ramsey who has never really known love until Dev. It was just a fabulous read that engaged me in all aspects and threw me for some loops. While I suspected the villain's identity, I was never sure of it. There was a big shocker at the end which I never saw coming either. Besides the heart pounding suspense it had a beautiful romance and let me add that Ms. Brant can write a love scene with the best of them. A truly thrilling read that grabbed my undivided attention from the get-go and never wavered. The writing was exceptionally vivid, smart, and spine-tingling at times. Can't wait for the next one!

Very hard to stop listening to!
I loved having characters from the original tv series reappear! I will definitely be listening to this one over and over again!
Features Three Special Characters from the TV show
I was so excited to hear this book on Audible because we have all waited so long for newer Murder She Wrote titles and this didn't disappoint. The audio sound was very clear, the story was concise, and there were just enough descriptions of the ship, the people, the whole environment, to draw a picture, but not over-embellish and distract. Michael Hagarty, Dennis Stanton, and George Sutherland, oh my! The only thing I wish has been done was to include these other characters (Dennis and Michael) in other books.
    Good One
Quick, light and easy read/listen. Great for that afternoon and evening you want to relax.
    Much better than anticipated
What did you like best about this story?
I liked this book much better than I thought I would. The characters were fun, the story line was engaging and the ending was surprising.
What does Sandra Burr bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I think she is the best Jessica Fletcher since Angela Landsbury.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending. The last 20 minutes. WOW.
    The Queens Jewels
I really enjoyed the book. Kept my interest the whole time. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the narrator. Other than that it was a great listen.
