Motivating

I received this book for free. I thought it was a fictional book but it's more of a teaching in Christ book. I received a prerelease copy and it needed a lot of editing, but I would recommend the finished product. Most of it was motivating and I loved the cover.

This book came to me in God's perfect timing.

The words of this book helped me understand what God has been working in my life. God has a wondrous way of speaking to me through the works of his children and of leading me to them. If you were led to this book, too, maybe God has a revelation for you as well. Thank you Bill Vincent for following His will by writing such a powerful and informative book.

A refreshing representation of a God Centered Life

Where does Come and See rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

This book spoke to my heart. As a member of Watermark Church, it was very cool to Come and See the reality of my surroundings. As individual elements I know and see each part of this story to be true, but the cohesive quilting together was a sweet, refreshing and encouraging reminder of why i love my church. I love my church because I love my savior, and my church highlights Him more than anything else.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Come and See?

I love the portion of being a regular attender.. it spoke to me in the same manner as CS Lewis' Screwtape letters, when the demons are suggesting they tempt humans to become connoisseurs of churches.. that Satan would love nothing more than for us to highlight our attendance as how we serve our Lord, and how wrong that is.

Overall very well written

I struggle with the certainty the author has regarding the temporary heaven and the New Heaven. The Greek words here do not clarify this fact and I usually hesitate to believe something a person calls fact if it cant be corroborated by the Scripture of the original language. However, the book is very well written and speaks to the heart about preparing for heaven. Nicely done.

Worth a credit

What did you love best about The Four-Gospel Journey as a Guide for the Spiritual Life?

This is a highly informed and sensitive perception of the Gospel presented in a very intimate way. Although a 'different' take, it is firmly grounded in a spiritual practice that is relevant to 'how' we read as well as 'what' we read.It is very much a contemporary take on timeless reality.

What other book might you compare The Four-Gospel Journey as a Guide for the Spiritual Life to and why?

'Surprised by Joy' by C.S Lewis, has a similar sense of the personal revelations experienced by an individual being shared.

What about Dr. Alexander J. Shaia PhDs performance did you like?

Alexander, is a natural teacher. He encourages the listener to think freshly rather than accept instruction. There is a poetic flavor to his expression of ideas that is both hooked into past thought, insight into history and universal grace .

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I consider this an excellent introduction to thinking and feeling the Gospel .

Any additional comments?

It blows away simplistic readings and helps reveal a deeply cultural context without becoming only 'history.' I think the writers own family history has allowed him to be able to act like a translator. There is an emotional edge that touches the heart. There is a tenderness and vulnerability that embraces the "I am with you."

Life changing.

A most beautiful, gentle and life changing look at the gospels from an author who has a heart for truth and a love for his fellow travellers on the long, confusing and often chaotic journey of human life. Something beautiful has happened in my life since I first stumbled across Alexander Shaia's work just a few short weeks ago. Highly recommended for thirsty souls and weary souls.

Mirror for the Soul is a real gift!

Journaling through Mirror for the Soul is like sitting and talking with Alice Fryling in person! Having had the benefit of meeting with Alice as my spiritual director for 14 years, it was a treat to "hear her voice again." The book reminded me of and brought even greater clarity to things we talked about. I was particularly helped by the process questions. As a Coach and Strategic Planning & OD Consultant, it is critical for me to be self-aware of my personal biases and how I might "show up" to my clients. The Enneagram has been a practical tool for both personal development and professional growth!

Mirror for the Soul is a practical guide and definitely my favorite book on the Enneagram!

I've Been Waiting For This Book

For years I've been waiting for Alice Fryling to write this book. I've attended many workshops on the Enneagram led by Alice and Jessie Vicha and our church has offered several Enneagram workshops to the greater Christian community in our area.
