Delightful

I read this series from the prequel the through book 3 in about a week's time. I throughly enjoyed this look at life in a small town. The characters ran the gamut from somewhat stuffy to just plain folks facing life from day to day with mostly good humor and fun. Millie and Al, the proprietors of the B & B, were an outstanding example of how folks should grow old together. These books made me want to move to Goose Creek and join in their down-to-earth lifestyle. Those who enjoy books about a simpler time are sure to love this delightful set of characters going about their daily activities.

Wonderful read, light and easy to envision, and pleasantly humorous enough to give a few good laughs! Designed for women over 40

Four and a half stars for the zany conclusion of the Richardson saga, complete with weird relatives and a humor which matches mine. Designed for those of us over forty who remember the Good Old Days of proper entertaining and hosting of guests. Well done!

Very interesting and enjoyable, lots of fun. The characters are so real and lovable I feel I k ow them personally. A great series and good read.

Stars Hollow (Gilmore Girls) meets Downton Abbey. I love this charming series, and it keeps getting better. Millie is up to her usual tricks of jumping into trouble with both feet, and Al is his usual grumpy, but caring self having to go along for the ride. Enter an eccentric aunt, a depressed cousin and a host of other characters, including an entire yard of animals, and you get this small Kentucky town that turns into a zany mess. Loved it!!!

I try to pace myself but always end up finishing way too soon. Oh, did I mention the wonderful recipes in these books? Ms. Smith, this series is Entertaining with a capital E!!

Wonderful Christian Romance

I enjoy Christian romance novels but I sometimes shy away from them because they can get too "preachy". This author, however, has a wonderful way of showing faith through lessons learned along with a believable heartfelt story and likable characters. A truly sweet journey that no one should miss.

The wonderful narration added to the enjoyment of this book. Definitely putting both Author and Narrator on my list of "keepers".

If you're looking for a quality Christian romance, give this Author a try. I was given this book for my unbiased review but would have gladly used a credit.

Sweet Romance

This was my first Christian Historical Romance. Yes all of those lol. And honestly, I enjoyed it. It was good to take a break from my normal listening genre and try something new. So glad I did.

Barb writes a story that has several layers. It is listed as Christian becauae of the references to God, forgiveness and the church. It is just enough not to be overbearing for those who may not be of the faith. The story also deals with race, and acceptance and a few "never saw that coming" moments.

This is a love story and I enjoyed how the characters were developed and how Jonas's and Ivy's relatiinship grew overtime.

Tom Jordan performs this book and as it being his debut did a wonderful job. Great tone, differences in characters were evident, and he has great pacing. I felt the emotions he provided and gave me a deeper understanding of what they were facing. Well done and looking forward to more of his work!

~The Audio Flow

Wow... What a wonderfully-warm, fun listen.

This story took me to a simpler time and place and led me on a journey with the two main characters, Jonas and Ivy. So many great lessons in this book, but it presented them without being preachy at all! Great storytelling works on at least two levels - the surface story, and the underlying motivations behind the characters actions - not always easy to portray, but Barbara nails it. You followed their tale and understood why they did the things they did - perfect storytelling.

Tom Jordan's narration was warm, smooth, consistent, and the audio quality was top-notch. What a great voice to listen to for several hours. I can't wait to hear him in her next book.

Surprisingly good, a fast read, hooked in for more

At only four and a half hours long, lots of ground is covered, yet you don't feel rushed. I can appreciate this as occasionally books really only have this much material but stretch it out into much longer. That said, this is part 1 of a series, so more is coming, but I feel like I went on a journey with the characters just in this initial book. Initially I wondered if I would keep up and catch the plot, but the story quickly settles in and you're not letting go.

Love found a way.

With the help of Our God, love found a way to bring hope and happiness. I love Miss Beller's stories, full of sweet adventure, with the beauty of the mountains we love.

Together with God was the best for their relationship

I loved the feeling of actually being on the mountains with the cabin and the beauty from the sweet love story that included the trials of building a relationship in those days. The book was one I didn't want to put down. Thanks for a great read.

Hard times

Reading this book is an excellent way to learn the way of early settlers in the mountain ranges of the early west. It tells of the hard winters, ways to grow crops for the months they are snow bound. I was also interested in the use of native plants used for flavor in their cooking.

Another good one!

Loved Gretta and her giving generous nature and the development of Zeche' s character after meeting him in the 1st book in the series. The descriptions of the rugged mountains, people and animals were very good too. Can't wait for the next book. Great job, Misty.

Great Page-Turner

Loved this book and had trouble putting it down to get anything else done. I love the way Misty Beller writes! She is able to make you feel the way each character feels. You can see that she has researched not only the area she writes about, but also the medicines, herbs, and cooking styles of the period. Well worth reading!

A sweet Amish based love story. Ruth's happiness is stymied by overbearing parents. But with help from her brother love is the winner.

I choose this rating,because I understood Ruth position in life,caring for parents with health issues.putting off dreams of marriage and having a family someday.because her parents needed her home.

Awesome suspense!!!

Exceptional murder mystery plot

This murder mystery tale centers on a now widowed mother, Deidre Morris, and young son, Kevin. Deidre finds herself tangled into a murder mystery of epic proportions where it seems as if everyone is a suspect. The plot of this story is impeccable. There are many different pieces of the Echo Falls world happening at the same time, yet you never feel lost as a reader. There are suspicions and lies and hidden truths, and they are all discovered in the end in a spectacular plot twist I did not see coming. For me, not being able to predict what is going to happen makes a mystery book a five-star read for me. This was no exception. The characters were believable and likable, the story made my heart race, and I could not turn the pages fast enough. At one point, my cat jumped up beside me, and I almost jumped out of my chair. I was so invested in the action of the story that I didn't hear her.

Kudos to Ms. Perry for a book well written. I'd definitely be interested in reading other books from this author.

Nail-Biting

Why would someone want to kill her best friend, this is what Deidre has to find out, when her son is injured, and we donât know who would want to hurt them.

From the beginning to the end we are waiting to see who is the murderer, and again who is breaking into the house, and making attempts on their lives.

We are in Amish Pennsylvania and although Deidre isnât Amish lots of her relatives are, and I loved how Kevin, her 5-year-old son, and his cousin Ben, who doesnât yet speak English, converse and play together.

We follow along in this nail-biting story but are able to enjoy the picturesque scenery around us; I could almost feel the mist from the falls. While the place is beautiful, there also seems to be danger lurking, but why.

When we find out the details, they are so very heart breaking, but I never saw all of it coming.

Learning to love again after battle trauma

I had a problem with this e-book âHeal His Heartâ when I read the words âgold-medalâ awarded for valor. The United States military does not award a gold-medal for valor, are you referring to the Bronze Star or the Distinguished Service Cross? I did enjoy the story of the man finding love and peace for the trauma that occurred while he was in Afghanistan. I am not sure, but I doubt that the story about the grenade would be possible (without giving away the story I cannot comment further). Make those two corrections, and you will have a much better story. I will give this book 2.5 stars which round the three stars.

Really a perfect story!

So many of our Military men are facing hurts from which ever war they were in. For the lucky ones love is what they need. The only thing I would change in this story is I would add God's love. I am a first time reader of Natalie Moore, I like her work she is a good writer. Good ahead and purchase it. I got it on Kindle Unlimited but it is worth the price if you have to pay for it.

An Okay Read

Beth lives on the edge of an Amish community, but sheâd never had much contact with them until her house burned to the ground. With no family and no place to go, her Amish neighbor takes her in. Claudia has a daughter and her oldest son living with her, and Michael manages to get the construction company he works for to build Beth a home at no cost to her. Just when Michael and she are becoming close and Beth wants to become Amish, she gets a call about working for the company of her dreams. She wants time to consider her options, but Michael doesnât take her dilemma well. Has her future happiness also gone up in smoke?

The short book has a number of mistakes. âWhilstâ is always use for âwhile,â no matter whose voice itâs in, even though the novel is contemporary. Thereâs a lot of head hopping. It used quotation marks around magazine titles instead of italicizing them. âOfâ was used for âoff,â and the sentence structure often seemed awkward. The Amish family prayed aloud before meals, and Michael spoke to God as he would a friend, but I thought the Amish said silent grace. I couldnât understand why the construction company build houses and buildings for anyone, but would only build Beth an Amish-style house with no electricity, etc. The book wasnât bad but nothing special.

I could not put this book down, when you just think you have the plot her comes a curve in the road. Love has to be based on experiences and that takes time. I do appreciate the high morals that are upheld and enjoy reading of the Amish way of life. I enjoyed this short story and am looking forward to reading the next one. Thanks to the author again for her good job of writing.
