Not bad, well worth a listen.
I liked the premise of this so was quite happy to pick it up. Just over 4 hours and I knew I could get through it in the one day. So that was a bonus as I like shorter works as much as the epic long ones. :)
I have to admit even though the premise was interesting, there was a lot of confusion in here. Mostly I think that was because the MC had no memories, and a lot of what she told us was as it came back to her.
However. there were a couple of things that left me with a head scratch... the fact that the 'safe house' really isn't a safe house, and the other candidates for the experiments seem to be able to find them so easy. The fact that Ari's brother and sister are there again that they could find Ari and the others, but not them... Certain writing POV shifts, where the MC tells us things she can't possibly know or see. Just took me out of the story quite a bit. The fact that there are POV shifts to Mark, about 10 chapters in and again towards the end where Ari is unconscious again. I believe with some more planning this might have been easier on the ears. It came as a bit of a shock, although it helped at the time while Ari was 'dead' kinda thing. It was jarring to me as a reader/listener being in someone else's head for a short period of time.
The idea of the bunker isn't something that I would consider either. I would hate that. And I'm surprised that they end up in there, because eeek, glad that Ari really is out of it and when she wakes they can go back out side.
I think this was a good start to a series, the characters were interesting and so were the gifts, not quite the usual take on this, and that was what kept me listening.
I admit I also struggled with the characters here, The voices were to me much younger than I think the characters were actually supposed to be. Especially her best friend Kari/Karly. Or is Trey her best friend. I think this girl is pretty confused with what and who she wants in her life and then it confuses me too. Just a little squeaky at times, and the guys were gruff. At some points I almost stopped listening. I am glad I didn't though, there were some very unique twists to the story. And the ending is worth waiting for. I do look forward to more from this author.

    Sinbad "Rising To New Heights"
In this third book of this Arabian Nights-like series, Sinbad is on another fantasy adventure, in order to save the stolen children of an island people. In his and his crew's odyssey-like quest, they encounter a gigantic metallic sea-dragon, a sky-floating city, his ship "rising to new heights" by becoming able to fly the skies themselves, the sorceress-queen of the mysterious "Warriors Of Forever", plus other surprising events. All this mixed with a goodly amount of swordplay and other action. Unlike the previous two books in this series, this is a book-length novel, instead of a book containing short stories. This allows the author to more fully expand the story and include more marvels and action into it.
Highly recommended if you like reading exciting fast-paced adventures set in the fabulous world of the Arabian Nights and of its most heroic adventurer, Sinbad the Sailor.

A Great Start to the Series
    Any additional comments?
I received a free copy of the audio version in exchange for an honest review. I already owned the ebook version but hadn't read it yet. This is the first book in The Skyfall Era series. I have read other books by the author and he didn't disappoint me with this book. This book can be read as a standalone. It does not end in a cliffhanger but does have an open ending for future books on the series. There is a lot violence and may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.
In Children of the Sun and Moon, the author has set the bar high for future books in the series. The characters, beliefs, countries/empires, locations, etc. are richly described. There are many layers within this storyline that kept me interested and invested in the story. I would think I had things figured out and another layer would be revealed that changed my thinking. I had a hard time putting this book down as I got caught up in their lives and struggles. I look forward to the rest of the series!
Anisha Dadia was the narrator for the audio version. I normally don't like listening to female narrators. But she had a pleasant voice and did a good job in narrating the book.

In a city of 10 million, under glass eyes of six million cameras, one man evades their networked stares, and watches those who are watched.
It had always been Jared's passion to observe, and for the last 15 years, it had been his job.
His days were spent deducing the stories of strangers' lives from momentary glimpses of present actions in streets, train stations, and airports. Filming every moment.
Jared was starting to see more.
He had spent every free moment pouring over the footage, and fate was bringing other observers into his life, teaching him how to push his skills further.
Before he knows it, he starts looking beyond the present, seeing the past in more detail than ever, and might be glimpsing the future.
But he's also hearing voices, thinks he's being followed, surveilled, and has no idea how much - if any of it - is real.
All he knows, is that if he wants answers, he has to keep watching.

    Smoke and mirrors
This seems to be a book about smoking. Totally fragmented storyline without a cohesive story. I could only tolerate 16% of this book. I deleted it unfinished from my Kindle. Yuch!
    not a bad thing, unusual
Kindle Unlimited or got on freebie day depending on which story/collection. Very odd writer, not a bad thing, unusual, and for someone such as me that read, a LOT {10-20 or more book, a DAY} that's saying something. See the list of books below? That's just not a be nice and list them all, that's the list of books am reading at this sitting, pretty sure that was all of them. If I missed any or it says not verified {because no matter how many hundreds have spent over the last 3 years, plus ku, never says verified on mine unless freebie day etc} the writer can feel free to send them to me lol {serious not serious but mostly serious}. The more I read of him, the more the southern 'bless his heart' kicks in, wondering just how many times and ways that poor boy was dropped on his head, how hard, and if on purpose. Interesting reading though...because of?
Touch Sensitive - A Sensitive Time
    The APEX Cycle series - @ 1 - The Whistle 2 - NLI-10 3 - Testing Ground 4
    What A Day To End The World {spin off is Tangents}
    also I Hate Time Travelers - Dead City- Due Date - Murder by Natural Causes with follow up Simon & Emily Are Going To Hell: A love story (sort of) - Footprints: A short fantasy tale - Shadowmancer -- Unknown: A Science Fiction and Fantasy Anthology (Hidden Worlds Book 1) {Testing Ground} is Anthology writer is & so is Vernal Equinox: Short Stories from the Worlds of KP Novels (Kindle Press Anthologies Book 2){A Sensitive Time}
    Very Interesting Story
Very interesting plot with a main character that is constantly being developed in the story. The book starts slow and ends too abruptly. More could have been done with the main character and his abilities. An enjoyable read, but needed more.
An interesting story set in the future. Is it ...
An interesting story set in the future. Is it a dystopian future, or is it just the main character's take on life? It was a little hard to get used to the writing style, but I was hooked once I did. Things are gradually revealed until you get to the end, and then you realize that you want more.

    It's tomorrow in today's vernacular.
Remember the choices when we're exploring in Audio Books, "Sci Fi Contemporary"? This too short listen could be the "Poster Book" for that section. It's a believable adventure with today's hero types finding something to be saved from the bad guys who appear to be government itself who views the electorate as so much cattle to be subjugated. Mixed in is the huge family dynasty that today's souls wished were theirs. A,W, Miller does a fine performance but could work on the female voices a little. I'm looking forward to the next book which I hope will be just a little longer.
    Amazing
I am once again blown away by Mr. Collins!
I'm very much looking forward to the next installment! If you haven't read or listened to a Larry K. Collins book, pick one up today I promise you won't be disappointed!

How much will one man sacrifice to save thousands of lives?
Hundreds of sick and dying patients are being healed throughout New York City by an unseen force. As the world watches on, believing that divine intervention is the cause, security footage reveals that a single man is responsible.
When software genius Philip Campbell sells his security firm to enter the seminary, he ends up becoming a global Internet sensation with his message of compassion and kindness.

Philosophy, science, and medicine meet to form a perfect storm along one man's journey through the infinite expanse of matter, energy, and the self. The Devil's Saint challenges traditional religious and social paradigms while questioning the very nature of consciousness and empathy.

    An incredible story, beautifully told.
This was my first audible book; I wasn't sure what to expect. My daughter bought it for me and suggested I could listen to it over time. I started it just before dinner, stopped for dinner, then stayed awake until 2:00 in the morning listening straight through to chapter 16. I couldn't put it down. Only the need for sleep kept me from finishing it in one day. I finished it the next day. It was a surprising and ultimately very moving story. In the end, I felt both sadness and joy and realized there was much to think about it, in the best way. The narration was very well done, for those who may either need or prefer to listen to their books. Five stars. I look forward to more books from this writer.
    Very well crafted
The Devil's Saint was a fantastic journey brimming with morality, and takes a really good approach to faith while addressing logic at the same time. It was a breath of fresh air and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to future works by Duran.

Since early in man's history, he has looked to the heavens for the secret of time. Many have tried and failed. Some have actually gotten fairly close to the code of time. All dreaming that they would be able to go back and correct former mistakes. Time is a massive obstacle undertaking for man.
I give you Tatum, a young boy with an unstoppable will to succeed. Yes, Tatum will do what no man has ever been able to accomplish. Tatum will split time to find his older brother's killer. This is one of the most heartwarming stores of family love you will ever hear. You unquestionably don't want to recognize how far a young mind can broaden and decipher the impossible dream.
    Members Reviews:
    Just cannot recommend
What disappointed you about Time Splitter?
Story was lightweight at best. Characters were unappealing and unbelievable. Early part had some interesting science briefly discussed but the rest of the science was implausible and unbelievable. Worst thing about this book was the incredibly stilted dialog. The author must not have been around young people for decades. The teenagers' dialogs sounded like they were written by the authors of the old sixties Beach movies. And Bender from the Breakfast Club Movie described the central family best "they are neomaxizoomdweebies". The old fifties TV series Father Knows Best TV family was more believable than these folks.
Would you ever listen to anything by Richard Porter again?
Not if this is the best example of his work
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Worst reader I have EVER listened to. While he could sound effectively with different male and female characters, his slow, over enunciation of each word made it painful to listen to. I even had others listen to some of the book and they found the narrator laughable.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
An interesting premise - could have been developed into a very special time travel story
A murder solved by a child prodigy.
What made the experience of listening to Time Splitter the most enjoyable?
I did like the imagination and the dialogue between characters in this piece. It had a good mix of humor, relationships, and some mystery.
What other book might you compare Time Splitter to and why?
I don't believe that I have ever read a book quite like it.
    Which scene was your favorite?
There was a description of ghost-like characters, which were actually time-travelers. Of course, the book offered a technical explanation. While I would never bet on it, it was really interesting.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    A murder in Time
