Anno 2066.
Coraggio, segreti, tradimenti. Vera fantascienza, vera avventura.

    Book 2
Lots of suspense, intrigue, drama and plot twists, The book kept me engaged until the very end and left me eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
    Really Good!
This book is so outside my normal genres of contemporary romance or mystery, but I found myself captivated by it. This story is part of a series and a standalone listen. I hadn't listened to the first book book in the series, but was immediately pulled into this story. The narrator did a fantastic job with her emotions and the various character voices. The storyline of kidnapping really pulled me in. Futuristic stories typically haven't been my thing, but the performance of the narrator added so much and made it enjoyable. I received a review copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. The author and narrator are both very talented, and I would listen to more of their works. I loved all of the twists this book had, and hadn't figured out who the kidnapper was initially or why.
Great Sequel To The Bleak Dystopian Series
I was thoroughly engaged throughout this sequel to Why You Were Taken. JT Lawrence made me feel the paranoia and dread Kate throughout. As before Keke is my favorite character and love any time she is taking front and center, which she gets to do a lot more in this book. The book lets you get into everyones frames of mind before things get rolling, and I find JT Lawrence is always able to make me feel what the characters are.
The narration by Roshina Ratnam was again great, love all of her characters and their inflections. Looking forward to more from this series, and the author in general.
I received this audiobook for free from the author / narrator / publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.
Great 2nd book in this series!
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Like with the first book, I really enjoyed this book. The author does a great job world building and developing the characters in the book. The narrator was VERY good. She really has an interesting accent and brought the characters to life. Definitely worth a credit.
    an amazing thriller
I received this audiobook from the author for an honest review from my own free will.
I don't know how Janita does it, this books just gets you deep on the story, they begin slow to explain various situations and at the middle they just explode and the action spiral just unfurls and keep you on edge until the end.

    Members Reviews:
    Great stuff!
Another excellent anthology with story themes that should be expanded into novels for main stream sci-fi. This kind of speculation occurs rarely in sci-fi these days. Jonathon Strahan editorial work is noteworthy.
All the stories are good what more can you ask for?
This is a really excellent collection of stories. Plenty of good ideas worth pondering delivered succinctly as they must be in short stories. Yet nearly all the entries are so good you are disappointed to reach the end. You think "man, what a great story this would be expanded into a full novel". So it is enjoyable, and an easy read while leaving you wanting more.
    Fine read.
One of the best in the series if not the best.
    Five Stars
    Great item! Good experience.

    Spotty edits
Story was great, reading was great for about 95% of the time, but there was a few cases where there was a jarring edit. The levels were different and not always with a smooth transition.
    Great book bad narration
love the book but really don't like the narrator! Jonathan Yen originally narrated the 1st book in the series, dark intelligence and he was so much better! Really annoyed that they didn't use him for book 2 and 3 :(

But Tek won't let the Bakzen go down easily. He will find Wil's greatest weakness and do anything to make him crumble. The generations-old war began as a feud of races and ideals, but, with this fight, it's personal.
Crossroads of Fate is the fifth installment in the Cadicle series. This character-driven novel chronicles the decisive space battles to end the war with the Bakzen so a new era for Tarans can begin.
    Members Reviews:
    Cartoonish Villain
In this volume, the arch villain Tek turns almost cartoonish, and the interplay between him and Will resembles a scene from Austin Powers in which Dr. Evil steals his mojo. The purpose was to create a context for Will's inner conflict but it requires sending his wife out alone and unarmed without a military escort in a war zone, and then glossing over the fact that Tek is going to carry out his dastardly deed regardless of what Will chooses to do. It may have created a necessary context, but it framed Will as unintelligent and weak.
    Retard Mode Engaged
For light Sci-Fi the first two thirds of the book falls in line with all the prior books...then every character in the book seems to have been hit in the head with a hammer really really hard to have caused massive brain trauma.
It's at this point I put the book down...not on a table or shelf...no...the out behind the barn type down.
