SWEET FUN STORY!!!

Hometown Cowboy by Sara Richardson......This is a sweet fun story that will pull some on your heartstrings. I loved the story of Jessa and Lance, it is so believable I felt like they are part of my family. Sara Richardson will pull the reader into the story and doesn't let go until the last word. What's Better than Cowboys and Colorado?

The start of a new series about three brothers in the bull-riding business has everything you could ask for. A hero and heroine who want more but have issues to overcome before they can have their HEA. Plenty of other characters to add to peak your interest for future books. Family relationships with all their ups and downs and yet undercurrent of support for each other and the hero and heroine. Funny scenes, touching scenes and plenty of steam. Can't wait for the next book about the middle brother!

Excellent

Good start to a new series. Jesse is a relationship girl. She wants it all. Husband, kids, house and a dog or two. Lance doesn't believe in relationships. After his mom walked out years ago he swore he never love a woman the way his father had. These two shouldn't work but they do.

I highly recommend this one.

Don't be bumptious!

Written around the turn of last century, it still spoke to me in a delightfully refreshing way. Standards and expectations were different in that era but, especially for those of us who experienced some of those changes or were subsequently affected by them, these show the first glimmers of why some of the changes (in ways women were treated or how the medical staff team dynamics needed some adjusting) were needed. However it is the sense of humor and heart the writer conveys that so delighted me. Delightful is just the descriptive that seems to fit.

Plot revolves around a graduating trained nurse who, though very ably transformed into an automaton of efficiency, is lamenting her lack of individuality and vitality. When she comes into a very different line of work, caring for an irritable invalid girl and her even more irascible surgeon father, this could degenerate into a trite romance but is saved by it's sense of humor and pithy insights. Also enjoyable are the colorful period language and expressions and view into the worldview and customs of the era. They somehow find their way into my thinking, causing me to look at my own era and perspective, though in no part the possible intention of the writer - it was meant, I believe, as a happy jaunt through its own, contemporary, time and place. But its worth the side trip for a reader a hundred and ten years, or more, later...

Great Reading

I came across Ms. Abbott's stories a few weeks ago and I've read every one of them so far. Her stories were written in early 20th Century are timely and interesting. Great reading, short stories, interesting characters. Recommended for anyone who enjoys light romantic stories.

People with differences can love and adjust to each other.

I enjoyed the unusual style of writing. It was nice to read and I enjoyed the personalities of the characters in this book. I liked the happy ending. Thank You immensely. Karen F.

Hard to get into

I generally like works by Eleanor Hallowell Abbott, but this one was a real slogfest to get through. I finished it only because I don't like to leave books unfinished. I treated myself to a large vanilla latte as a reward when I was done!

Awesome start to a series

This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster with the ups and downs. Tessa and Lukas were so thought out and amazing together. It is a clean read if you are looking for that. The way it is written was so beautiful I would recommend this for anyone

A quick read with some delightful characters!

Excellent! Being from the west side of the L.P. myself, it was a lot of fun to read a book situated in Michigan (and it gave me a special appreciation for the reference to lake effect weather). Lukas and Tess' characters are both hiding something that they believe could send the other running for the hills. The only thing is that it isn't until Lukas reveals his secret that Tess realizes that when hers comes to light she runs a very high risk of losing him. Both Lukas and Tess blame themselves for what happened, though for different reasons. Lukas is convinced his loss occurred due to his negligence, whereas Tess thinks she's to blame because she got drunk that night. Despite their concerns over how the other will react, they end up falling head-over-heels for one another. Along the way we get to meet many other delightful characters (and year-round residents on Mackinac Island) including Lukas' doberman, Dio. There's also Estelle, Lukas' 60-something-year-old co-worker with a penchant for prying into his love life, Doc and Marie (the man who hired Tess and his wife, the island's doctor - also parents to one of Lukas' best friends), Sara and Gavin (a fellow teacher and her husband), and, near the end, Conner and Jessica (one of Lukas' best friends and fraternity brother and his girlfriend). Despite Lukas' initial reaction to Tess' news, they do find their HEA. And while the book does end rather abruptly (no cliffhanger), I can't wait to see what happens next in Pyramids and Promises!

I Love These Dio!

This book shocked me, I'm not going to lie! I've only read the Dragon Kings so I was a bit aprehensive and I go into books "blind." Which means, I don't read anything about them ahead of time, no reviews, no blurbs, no nothing. I don't even look to see how many reviews a book has because I want nothing to sway my decision on reading anything. I loved this book! Wow! Kimberly Loth does it again, but in a different way, and I absolutely loved it! I didn't put the book down, just like her other series, which is a different genre. So, pleasantly shocked and thrilled that this author can pull me into her world no matter what! As soon as I'm done writing this, I'm off to read the next one in this series, which I purchased right before, so it has time to download.

"Until the moon stops lighting the night."

I went into this book completely blind, having read nothing about it, and I was COMPLETELY blown away. Leddy Harper has seriously outdone herself with this book and these characters. One of my favorite types of stories to read are those where boy meets girl when they little kids and they form a deep friendship that later on turns into more....where it seems like their world just isn't complete without the other one. To some extent, this is one of those stories, though there was a lot of heartache and trauma, sadness, and a lot of ups and downs before a happily ever after was ever able to be found.

"I didn't exist until I met you". The love and loyalty Rylee and Killian have for each other is beautiful. Reading about them as children, complete with Killian's devestating family history, and watching Rylee break down Killian's walls to forge this everlasting friendship was so touching. Though their story changes course towards the end of their high school years, and it seems like their bond is shattered, Killian's drive to right the wrongs, mend broken hearts and prove his devotion to Rylee never wavers. "In so many ways, he harbored horrible brutality no one should ever experience, but with me, his innocence was blind and beautiful-perfect.

This book has a mystery component to it as well, where there was always a piece missing and I felt like it constantly kept me on my toes. And when the pieces come together, all I have to say is WOW! I didn't want to put this book down at all until I reached the end, and even now, I wish it wasn't over.

"Until the sun stops rising in the east". This is one of those books that will stay with me for a long time to come. I think this might just be my favorite Leddy Harper book yet.

Amzing, tragic and gut wrenching

Killan and rylee meet when they are 11 and 10 years old . Killan has suffered more than any one person should , let alone a kid . he watched his parents murdered and then also suffered at the hands of their murderers. Rylee is hid savior , the one person he wants to be around and "talk" too. They are best friends and soon become so much more . All until Killan breaks her heart . Beautiful story

I am a huge Bridget Essex fan. As with all her stories I am always so impressed with her imagination and writing style. She's hit it out of the park with this one. I enjoyed this from the first line to the last. Her characters are always easy to imagine everyday people not so different from many of us who read these treasures. Through her stories I have witnessed the incredible growth of a true author. If you haven't read one of Bridget's books I highly recommend them. They are all my favorites. You won't be disappointed.

This was a joy to read.

It's kind of odd how some stories just catch you right from the start. It was interesting to see the interaction between Trish and her sister. Strained, a bit bitter but still so typical of siblings. Her finally caving in to the much needed rest was nicely done. The meeting with Kennedy easy very nice, gentle, fun. Definitely had a grin on my face. The walk in the woods and then the meeting out in the open was so beautifully done. The sene so awe, beauty and joy it evoked was awesome. I was sad to have it end. I wanted to know more! This was a very nice read, fun and uplifting.

A lovely read by the fantastic Bridget Essex. As with most of her holiday books it's a quick read but well worth it.

Trish has a past that is effecting her present. Can she learn to let it go and start fresh and accept things that aren't normal.

Hands down my pick for Sugartown's top couple âïâï

I am so thrilled Carmen is revisiting Sugartown one last time. And to see Pepper and Sammy all grown up is fabulous!! I wasn't sure how that little girl Pepper and lisp-sufferer Sammy would fare as main characters in their own story but I can safely say they did not disappoint.

Sammy is now Sam (with no lisp) and he's grown up to be a model citizen of Sugartown. Except for the very "un-sibling-like" feelings he has for the girl who grew up as his faux little sister: Pepper. And Pepper - well she's now a grown woman, tattooed, dyed hair and all. And she too harbours feelings for Sam that were rejected a little while ago. After an extended absence, Poppy has come back home to Sugartown and things are about to get all sorts of shaken up!

"Pepper Ryan-Harris-Rowe is a goddess and Iâm the devastation she leaves in her wake. I always have been."

This is my absolute favourite book from the Sugartown series because it feels the most real, it is the most painful and it deals with some massive issues in the most heartfelt and authentic of ways. Carmen is never one to shy away from the big issues and Sam & Pepper's book covers a multitude of issues - from mental illness to death and loss, from drug use to jealousy on steroids... I spent most of this book with my heart in my throat and tears at the back of my eyes. There were moments my jaw dropped from shock, times when the scenes were so steamy hot I almost needed a change of panties and tears shed over how much I felt for these characters.

Pepper and Sam are definitely my pick for top Sugartown couple and their messed up relationship is one I'll be happy to re-read over and over again.

Jaw dropping, heart stopping - Elijah and Ana have it all âï

I was thrilled when I realised that this next book in Carmen Jenner's Sugartown series was revisiting Ana and Elijah from 'Welcome to Sugartown'. I absolutely fell in love with Elijah and three years on, it's clear he and Ana are still head over heels about each other.

"I want all of it, all of her heart and soul, her compassion, her love, her desire, and her incredible pussy. I want all of her, for all the rest of my days."

But it wouldn't be a book of Carmen's if there wasn't some drama for our happy couple. From some old faces to ex-"lovers" to a proposal that might not even happen - Elijah and Ana's relationship is far from smooth. But it's the way that Carmen manages to make all the crap thrown at them authentic and genuine that had me hardly able to put this book down.

I stupidly thought that this book couldn't bring me to tears because Elijah and Ana were together and appeared so unbreakable. Well I was wrong - there were tears, at one point I'm certain my heart stopped beating and I held my breath, and yet I wouldn't have changed a single thing!!!!

Elijah and Ana's story might be over. But I'm glad there's one stop left in Sugartown âï

Watch out Ana...Elijah does not want a slice of the pie, he wants the whole thing. And so begins Elijahâs quest in hopes of walking down the aisle with Ana.

The story took my heart away the way Zack had to hideaway from every one because they tried to get his money and the Geof comes around and takes care of him and they fall in love.

Love it..very short and fun read.

Narrator killed this story!

Loved the actual story and plot, but the narrator was as dry as concrete! The narrator never made the book come alive. I love this author and will purchase more books a and audiobooks as well, but if its the same narrator I wont be purchasing the audiobook.
