Fabulous

This is a standalone listen and part of a series. I enjoyed hearing the story of Fynn, Miles and Eva. What a great friend Fynn had in Eva. She was like a fairy godmother. I liked how she encouraged Fynn not to accept the ho-hum. Meghan Kelly did a great performance with her emotions and voices. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I would listen to more books by this author and narrator. I enjoyed the unexpected twists this book had.

Love the characters

It's been a while since I listened to book one so I'd mostly forgotten it, but lots of it came flooding back as I listened to this book. I like that, it gave me the chance to love the characters all over again, I love them I do. I adore the inner group of women, they're all strong in their own right and the support they give each other and the closeness of the relationships between them is something most woman want and would envy. But it's not just the female characters that are likeable, the male characters are their match.

Be prepared for some twists and surprises. The story is fun, uplifting and enjoyable to listen to.

Of course the narration helps with that enjoyment. Meghan is one of my favorite narrators because she always does great character voices and her delivery draws me in and makes me feel like I'm part of the story, this book is a great example of her talent.

Great read

F is for Fynn by Monica Landia was a great read. Fynns Life hasnt been everything she hoped it would be. The only bright spot is her twelve year old daughter and her best friend Eva. Fynn finally asks Eva for help changing her life. I loved this book and cant wait to read more by Monica Landia.

Fynn takes control and gets her life back on track with a little help from her friends. I really liked each of the characters and what they brought to the storyline. Note, there were a few steamy scenes.

Meghan Kelly is a top notch narrator. I always enjoy her performances!

Don't Bother!!!!!

This book was terrible. The author jumped all over the place, never making things clear. It was difficult to understand which character was talking during many scenes. Serenity came across as a disturbed woman. What woman who has just been beaten up and sexually assaulted thinks about having sex the same day?? this was revolting and ridiculous. I wonder if the author is actually female. What woman describes breasts as big old battles? would a grown woman ask a man if he beats his meat? Those were just two of numerous questionable phrases written throughout the book. There is also a big difference between having an orgasm as opposed to having an organism! Next time an editor would be a good idea.

What in the world did I just read?

You have got to be kidding me? I mean you have really got to be kidding me. Where do I begin?

I would post a spoiler alert warning for you, but I'll just lay it out plain. This book is filled with abusive, non likeable characters. It jumps all over the place. None of it makes sense. And I do mean NONE OF IT. Real parents would never allow what Serenity's parents allowed to happen to their daughter. It is so graphic that my stomach turned and to think that the same day she is horribly beaten to within an inch of her life, she is trying to jump the hero's bones. I understand battered women's syndrome, but this book does not do a good job of capturing that at all. While reading this I kept telling myself that the other reviewers expressed that Gunner grew on them eventually. These reviewers must have received a different copy of this book than the one I purchased, because he really didn't grow on me at all. The mother in law planning press conferences and what not... it's stupid. And while I was reading I kept saying, 'This is DUMBEST THING I'VE READ IN A LONG TIME.' And trust me, I've read some real doozies. I know it only costs $.99, but I will be getting a refund. It's the principal and quite frankly, I don't want this on my Kindle.

Sometimes you can get an happily ever after

Phoenix Rayne, you had me in tears I thought he had died in the warehouse fire... I was almost mad lol. But this store had me in edge , my heart goes out to Serenity and what she was put through. Thank God that no good, sick husband of her is dead along with his crew .. I'm hope they got their forever after with a beautiful family as well. But there all some women of there is probably suffering from abuse and can't get out... This was a well put store . thank you

Fantastic read

Pleasantly surprised by this story. The twists and turns will have you uttering several WTFs and OMGs throughout the book. The Story is told from the Hero's POV, and is highly entertaining.

What would have made Happy Accident better?

The production/editing had so many instances of repeating text instead of replacing. True of all of the first 3 books.

I really enjoyed listening to happy accident but the editor did a horrible job. All throughout the book you heard the narrator over do his lines. I must say I am disappointed with the book for that reason only.

Secret Dream (Delos Series 1B)

I wondered what had happened to Lia and Cav. I knew from Nowhere to Hide we would see Lia and Cav again because I could sense Lindsay was not finished with themâyet. I am also seeing a pattern here..tell the âhow they got together storyâ then finish with a novella. Good way to keep readers interestedâbut I must sayâwaiting is NOT my strong point! From the Morganâs Mercenaries and Morganâs family series, I knew Lindsay would bring back characters. So you never know when a character you think might be done âwill return!

It opens with Cav and Lia on their way to Oregon to see Liaâs parents. Lia is excited and Cav is worried. Heâs down right petrified. When they meet, Father Steve is warm and accepting, Mother Susan..well the term iceberg comes to mind. Cav sees right from the start, Susan is going to be an obstacle. She is in Mother Protective Mode and he is going to have to prove his worth! Its cute how Lia and Steve look for ways to âbe togetherâ yet not give too much away to the parents. Now I am not going to tell you what happens, but suffice it to say I chuckled and cried, ohhhed and said HOT DAMN right along with the characters all through this book. I highly recommend reading this series in order but if you must at least read Nowhere to Hide BEFORE this book. Now go out and get your own copy, you will be glad you did!

Great Addition to The Delos Series

This novella picked up almost where book 1 of the Delos Series (Nowhere to Hide) left off. I love that the author created the opportunity to continue Lia and Cav's story, observing their relationship grow and deepen. This author has a gift for painting word pictures. You observed the story unfolding and share both Lia's and Cav's experience of the unfolding events. I have a new book boy friend and its Cav...what a fierce, strong, intutive and deeply loving man! Lia emerges from her cacoon and spreads her wings in every respect and it's a real joy. I rated this novella at 4.35 and assigned a sexy score of 4.50. Ms. McKenna knows how to write the sizzle. The sexual tension and the sex sceens are not gratitus. There is a lot of sensual sexy aspects to this story.

Other than Ms. McKenna, I am only aware of one other author that has written novels and followed them with novellas which allow the reader to keep contact with the primary characters. I am loving that Ms. McKenna is doing this. It adds so much more to the unfolding of the principal characters. Brava Ms. McKenna!!!!!

Loved the characters!

I loved Jimmy and Evelyn from the start, and enjoyed their romance! The narrator did a great job with the voices and bringing the characters to life!

Suspenseful!

Roz has a good story with characters that are sweet and devoted to each other. I loved the main theme that its alright to enjoy sex. It was not a very sex positive time during the time period this story takes place so I appreciate the characters exploring that aspect of their relationship. I also enjoyed the setting and could see it in my mind as being something that could have happened during the time period. I give it a 4/5!

For the narration I think Harper did a great job with these characters! Sometimes guys dont voice women well, but he did an excellent job making them distinct and sound natural! I also appreciated his tone and the overall audio production. It was smooth and clear! I give it a 5/5!

I liked this story and I didnt expect to when I realised when it was set. Historical stories are a genre that I generally avoid.

The main 2 characters are likable and in their own way they are strong. They have both experienced being judged cruelly.

Jimmy was banned from playing professional baseball for 5 years for being wrongly accused of illegal gambling.

Jimmy encourages Evelyn to accept that the person she is and like that person. He shows her not just that it is ok to enjoy sex.

I liked this one but the hero got on my nerves

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I think what drew me int this one is that it seemed modern and different from her others and I wanted to read something a little lighter and fun. I do think it was light and fun but the hero was so obnoxious sometimes that it was hard not to roll my eyes sometimes. He just didn't remind me of a grown man sometimes, and that whole stunt he pulled on vacation? All he had to do was uninvite the girl and this book would have had zero conflict. I truly disconnected to that part because it just seemed like such an immature thing to do especially when you didn't even know the woman's name. I wish there would have been a more challenging thing standing in their way or else I would have given it a 5.

The heroine was just kinda okay. I wasn't sure what he loved so much about her. I think if she had gotten her on narrative and I could have been in her head, I would have liked her better but I had such a hard time relating to her that I wasn't really routing for their HEA as much as I should have, but I did really dig the story as a whole. I love friends to lovers and i love reformed manw***res who find the one. If you do too, this book's for you!

Sure.

Friends to lovers...

Can a guy and a girl just be friends? That's the premise of this audiobook story. The main characters have been best friends since childhood, until she tells him about something she really wants- a baby. Starting to see his friend in a new light, the hero struggles with his changing feelings of being insanely attracted to the heroine. I enjoyed this story a lot and narration was well done with blended voices.

Liked the story, but better to read this one

Sadly, as much as I liked the story, this audiobook just felt sloppy. I thought both narrators did a fine job (though I enjoyed Jay Lindenwood's performance more), but the sound quality was pretty horrible. Their voices seemed muffled or perhaps too close to the microphone and there was some kind of background noise that was very distracting. I wanted to know what happened in the story though, so I actually started reading the book instead of listening to it exclusively. Because of that, I noticed that at least in one chapter (chapter 8), an entire chunk of text is missing at the end. I'm not sure if it accidentally got cut or was added into the book later, but it's definitely not in the audiobook. That chapter still ends in a normal manner and you likely wouldn't even notice anything is wrong, but it was such an emotional chapter/scene and that missing dialogue and interaction was so heartfelt. There also seemed to be some editing mistakes (ie: repetition of words/sentences) and some speed issues. All these things really took away from the enjoyment of this book.

Though I didn't love the story, it hooked me right in and I had to know what became of childhood best friends/lovers Lily and Trevin. I feel terrible giving it such a low rating, but I really don't want others to have to experience these issues. Gravity deserves a much better audio version than this.

Captivating Friends to Lovers Romance!

This friends to lovers romance is a raw and emotional roller-coaster. Lily and Trevin have been friends and neighbors since they were 8 yrs old. Their home lives were so different, with Lily having a loving and supportive family and Trevin living with an abusive father. They supported and grounded each other through all lifes' events and milestones even when their paths took them to different parts of the world. This story spanned 20 years and was sweet, frustrating, raw, heartbreaking, and hopeful. I didn't agree with many of their choices as they grew and matured. I wanted to yell at them both at times but I cheered for them all the way.

This is my first listen to narrators Jay Lindenwood, and Mackenzie Jamieson. I loved their young voices for Lily and Trevin and thought their growth to adult voices was wonderful. I thought they were both perfectly cast and enjoyed their performance. I especially loved Jay's singing voice and would have enjoyed more of that. I was a bit distracted by some production issues including some occasional background noise and repeating of words/sentences.

Awesomely written from an exciting new author!

Well developed characters and tightly written. Having read this story on Wattpad, I was very excited to know it was being published as an audiobook. Perfectly captures the challenge and confusion of falling in love, opening yourself up to what is new and scary and finding your voice. Throw in some heat and awesome food and you have a recipe for an enjoyable listen/read. Performance was spot on as well.

Excellent Follow Up!!!

Excellent Follow up!! I loved the characters! Madison is sweet, yet snarky and strong. Hunter is sexy, yet kind and generous. I really enjoy the banter between Hunter, Beau and their coworkers!! In book one, I envisioned Hunter mixing it up with Ashley, but so glad it was Madison!! They are perfect together!!

We meet Madison in book one. She has come up on some pretty hard times. In the process of leaving her deadbeat baby daddy, she finds herself in labor on the side of the road. In swoops gorgeous paramedic, Hunter Knox. Hunter successfully delivers baby Joy, and in true "hero" fashion, saves the day. But after leaving them at the hospital, he's having trouble getting the beautiful girls off his mind. By the time he returns to check on them, they're already gone. Samanthe Beck is honestly one of my favorite authors so I had high expectations for the release of this book. I loved the first novel in this series and fell in love with Hunter the second he was introduced. While you donât need to read Emergency Engagement, which is the first novel, it is worth it. I originally didnât expect Madison to be Hunterâs love interest but she was perfect. Madison and her new little girl gave Hunter purpose. The connection between all of them is inspiring. I love this novel and series so much! I so hope there is more to come.
