    Publisher's Summary:
"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain. Only Em can complete the final instruction. She's tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present - imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called "the doctor" while war rages outside.
Marina has loved her best friend, James, since they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America's most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James's life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina's hopes for their future. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was. Em and Marina are in a race against time that only one of them can win. All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

Great adventure - couldn't put it down!
Would you listen to All Our Yesterdays again? Why?
I think I will listen to All Our Yesterdays again because it was such a fun adventure from the moment all the way to the end. I really connected with the characters and I enjoyed how the author effortlessly switched back and forth between the characters in the present and the characters in the past. Just the right mixture of action, adventure, drama, romance, suspense, sci-fi and love.
What other book might you compare All Our Yesterdays to and why?
There really isn't anther time travel novel that has captured my attention and interest the way this novel has. I did enjoy listening to this book as much as I did Divergent.
What about Meredith Mitchells performance did you like?
She did a nice job of reading. Her voice is easy to listen too.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I enjoyed the ending. It wasn't a completely happy ending, but it wasn't a sad depressing ending. It is what had to happen, with a sprinkle of hope mixed in.
    Any additional comments?
I hope this author writes another book - soon!
Pardon me...do you have the correct time?
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would, with the rather large caveat that that person would need to be into a thriller/time travel/mystery offering, and not everyhone is.
If youve listened to books by Cristin Terrill before, how does this one compare?
No I have not. This was my first introduction to this author, and it was a moderately good first taste. That said, there is a definite need for a more aggressive editing process. There is some awkward dialogue, scene setting, and confusing( at least to me ) movement between the various charcters.
    On balance, however, damn fine.
Which character as performed by Meredith Mitchell was your favorite?
No one stood out, but most of them were strong.

    Great Satirical Suspense Novel
What made the experience of listening to Serial Date the most enjoyable?
The audio quality was very high, and the fast paced story was suspenseful and satirical at the same time.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Absolutely. The combination of action, personal stakes, and just the right amount of romantic interest really held my attention. I loved the sardonic humor.
What about James Killaveys performance did you like?
The narrator enunciated very clearly, his voice was moderated well and his expressiveness was entertaining but not distracting.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I almost looked forward to my 40 minute commute!
    Any additional comments?
I can't wait for the next audio book by DV Berkom!
Great Action with a Dark Sense of Humor
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! The story keeps up the pace from the beginning to the end. With this countries strange obsession with reality TV shows, why not take it one step more! Creepy with laugh out loud moments. I love Leine, she is a kick butt character.
What other book might you compare Serial Date to and why?
Dave Barry or Carl Hiaasen's Sick Puppy (one of my favorite books) DV Berkom has the same fast pace and wacky characters that keep you listening.
Have you listened to any of James Killaveys other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I haven't. It takes about 10 minutes for him to really take off with the characters and get into their heads.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Both, which is great. DV really fleshes out her characters to make them come alive in the eyes of the listener. Even sub characters you develop a love/hate relationship with them.
    Any additional comments?
I can't wait to hear more audiobooks in this series from DV Berkom.
    Realty Show Nightmare
Would you listen to Serial Date again? Why?
Yes, the plot is so unusual yet believable, which makes it both intriguing and a bit scary. The possibility of this type of show eventually turning up are incorporated well into the story. It resembles Hunger Games in that way.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Serial Date?
The climactic end with the police detective, Santa fighting to get to Leine in time to save her life. And also, the many moments between the two as their relationship grew.
What does James Killavey bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I enjoy the way he brought the characters to life.

    Love it!
Offbeat, dry humor, great looping interlacing stories. I immediately bought all avaliable audio and written. Not typical, but in my opinion very good, almost great.
    Slow Pace/Good Plot
This story line is great. I love many of the "broken" inspectors in series. Frost is now in my line-up. It was not boring and I felt the narrator was good for the somewhat comic detective and differentiation of male and female characters.
After Dahgleish, Lynley, Gamesh, Dublin Series. Gabriel Allon and Adrian McKinty, to name some faves, this reading was not a "can't-put-it-down" story for me. The ending had a good finish with some surprises...
But the pace was not fast enough to keep my mind off of the things I try to forget while I'm reading (plugged in)!! I will try Frost #2, though :)
    Frost at Christmas
Frost at Christmas - Nice crusty detective story. Narration was great, story line easy to follow.
    love frost
everything about this series is spot on. tone, humor, humanity. great narrator. very satisfying
    Gritty introduction to Frost
What made the experience of listening to Frost at Christmas the most enjoyable?
All the things which made the television series such a success - Inspector Frost, apparently a bumbling detective with, on the face of it, hardly a clue what is going on juggling several serious cases at once and coming up with most of the answers - to the exasperation of Station Commander Mullet.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Frost at Christmas?
The solving of the "Bank Job".
Have you listened to any of Stephen Thornes other performances? How does this one compare?
Yes, he recorded one of the Poldark books.
Totally different subject matter but equally convincing.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    Detection in the raw
    Any additional comments?
This is the first of a series of books featuring Inspector Jack Frost which were used as the basis for the television series. David Jason's portrayal of the main character was masterly - a brilliant detective who gets things done despite being completely disorganised with regard to procedures, especially those involving paperwork, who cares far more about getting the job done properly than giving the "right" impression.
Compulsive, can't wait to listen to the next one.

    A complex book
I enjoyed the early books, but old age kept me from the book store for a few years so I am catching up on my Kindle. I liked the story line, but I spent so much time reading things not in (it seemed to me) the story. So many characters that were not part of the story, or were giving so much more space than they needed. I suspect they might have been in a previous story I missed. Will try another Scarpetta book soon.
Cornwell's family of characters actually starts acting like one
Author Cornwell's often challenging formula of complaining characters, convoluted plots, and random pacing is tweaked a little in "Scarpetta", as some rare and welcome warmth is seen among the supporting cast, the plot is a little more compelling and easier to follow than recent entries, and the central character herself is presented a little more multi-dimensionally. On that last point, Dr. Kay actually jokes once or twice and even displays a sensual side. Saints preserve us!
Actually, I'm one of the few readers who didn't mind the way things were before, admiring Ms. Cornwell for writing the kinds of stories she wanted to write without regard for slick readability and other lowest common denominator elements. Still, it was nice to see an injection of actual cameraderie among the central cast of Kay, Benton, Marino, and Lucy, and well as some eventual individual happiness for each.
In addition to the decent central mystery (did troubled police suspect Oscar Bain brutally kill his girlfriend or did someone else do it?), there's a subplot involving an internet gossip site that adds a little fun to the mix. A well-staged final confrontation scene and a moody, effective epilogue (set in the famous New York eatery, "Elaine's"), brings it all to a satisfying close.
Another one or two like this and I might refuse to go back to the way things were before, as "Scarpetta" has shown that it's possible for this series to showcase tough, edgy stories without the central core characters hating themselves and each other.
I used to really enjoy them, the mysteries
The Scarpetta stories are starting to lose their pizzazz, IMO. I used to really enjoy them, the mysteries, the bits of personal stories, etc., but in recent years I haven't been finding them nearly so interesting or fun to read.

Great Book can't wait for Part 2
I truly enjoyed this one, really liked the way the characters were developed, their thoughts were expressed well and the narrater was totally enjoyable and expressed the characters well. Very much looking forward to the next book in this series at least I hope it's a series.
    I recommend it to all.
    Good
    Good story, well read.
Slight twist on the same story.
    Enjoyable and interesting.
I will be getting the next book
    Good not great
I've read a few better, but I've read many worse. This scenario does make more sense than any other I've entertained and it's not a bunch of zombies. Thankfully. The narrator seems to do decent as well.
    Well done!
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and found that it was well plotted, the characters were likable, and it didn't feel preachy even though it still held to a biblical framework.
    Good story
I like it moves at a good speed move ing on to #2 hope it is as good looking forwarded to it

Secret rooms and fascinating artifacts in cozy mys
I adore Julie Hyzy's White House Chef Mysteries, then I saw that she has her first in a new series out in Audio books, so I gave it a try. This series is just as interesting and was fun to listen to also!
Grace is a new assistant curator at (fictional) Marshfield Manor. Her family is from this area and she had spent many happy days here as a child. Unfortunately, a disturbed guest causing a huge scene and then a murder, causes Grace to have to start off her job with much more involvement than she had anticipated. Her gossipy nosey assistant, Frances, seems to know everything about everybody, but she's obviously no fan of Grace. But the hunky gardener , Jack, is considerably nicer. She's helped in stepping in to help protect the rich owner from danger by her two roommates in the beautiful but decaying mansion that her grandmother has left to her.
This mystery has lots of interesting details involving curating in an old mansion. All the different rooms and secrets are especially fascinating --I love old houses and secret rooms. The characters are intensely created with great flaws and creative personalities--some you love and some you love to hate. Hyzy has created another fun cozy series for sure. The narrator for the audio book is wonderful--creating voices distinct for every character. Definite winner!
    Loved it!!!
This book was fun and fast paced with many twists and turns. I look forward to the next book and the progression of the different storylines. I especially want to see what happens with the sister and ex fiance. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries.
    A Fun Read.
A fun read, well performed and looking forward to the next book by Julie Hyzy.
    An incredible mystery listen
Grace Wheaton, the assistant curator at the 150-room Marshfield Manor filled with priceless art in Julie Hyzy's Grace under Pressure, has just finished dealing with a troublemaker in an issue that required the use of all the security guards when a message comes over the radio that shots have been fired in Bennett Marshfield's office. Rushing up there along with Marshfield, Grace discovers that the curator, Abe Vargas, has been shot. Learning that Abe was scheduled to meet with Marshfield over a threatening letter, Grace suspects that he has been killed in mistake for Marshfield, probably by the letter writer. Then, Grace learns that Marshfield testified that morning against Taft, a man who scammed thousands of people in a giant Ponzi scheme and against which Marshfield blew the whistle.

    Good read
Good easy read with lots of twists. Would recommend this bok. Enjoyed reading. Take a look I think you would enjoy.
    Pretty Poor
I am embarrassed to say that the author - a former submarine commanding officer - should be so inaccurate about the basic story line, the operational feasibility of this operation, and the operation and configuration of the submarine he writes about. The book is poorly edited, frequently mixing the names of characters in the story line. Not a good effort - Tom Jacobs is capable of much better.
    A great story.
Indeed, a great story. A few inaccuracies that a non military type would not notice. Very believable characters. Lots of intrigue.
I might have been able to give it five stars if the editing would have been better.
    A misleading book title
I fully expected this book would be story of or about submarines. Too me it was a great disappointment.
The Ship and Crew were very minor in it and I feel that the title is very misleading!
    Great read.
Although the submarine has a brief appearance it's presence is felt through our the novel. A good mix of military and "James Bond" thriller. Thanks Tom.

    Members Reviews:
    Could not even read.........
    Dear Ms. Lake,
I will continue to read your books on one condition: please NEVER try to write an American character again, especially a Southern one. I was unable to get past page 40 in this book, it was so appallingly written and insulting to boot.
    A Disappointment
DEAD ON CUE is a murder mystery set in the small English town of Lakehurst. The story revolves around a historical play being staged at Fulke Castle. An American actor, an outsider to the local dramatic society, arrives and takes over the production.
The book is billed as a "Reverend Nick Lawrence" mystery, but he is not an amateur detective solving crimes. He shares equal billing with police detective Dominic Tennant who investigates the case and eventually solves the crime. Sadly, none of the characters really come alive and dominate the story. This novel is a cozy in the Agatha Christie vein but lacks the ingenious plot or deft characterization. With no truly dominating character, the story wanders.
The mystery itself is interesting enough for a crime fan, involving murder during the actual production, and a few plot wrinkles hold your attention. But the solution seems stumbled upon rather than discovered and left me with questions about motive and opportunity.
    All in all, a disappointment.
    As good as the first
This second installment was as good a story as the first in the series. Relatable characters, clear plot line, and good rhythm keep the book interesting without becoming overburdening. Again, my only complaint is that the book spends more time with Inspector Tennant than Vicar Lawrence, the title character.
    Dead on arrival
The silliness of the dialogue fatally corrupts any hope that this book is worth reading. Buy at your own risk.
