Loved Tiger's Story!

I'll keep my review short, and sweet because it's all been said before.

I'm kinda glad I waited a long time to start the New Species series for two reasons. First, I've enjoyed reading the other Audible member's reviews and secondly I love being able to listen to the each story back to back. It would have been frustrating for me to wait a year or more for the next book to come out.

Since I jumped on the New Species bandwagon, I've really been wanting to hear Tiger's story. Mainly, because he's given the other New Species a hard time for being with a human and then how he's been determined not to fall for a human female. Tiger's story was awesome, and I loved how he's been the most romantic so far; however, I wish the other mated New Species males gave him more of a hard time being with a human, than they did in this story. But still Tiger's story was everything I expected and more.

I'm confident, I will be listening to all of Laurann Dohner's series.

Tiger and Zandy are a great couple. I felt so sorry for Tiger... when he finally found a woman he wanted to keep... but then he thought she didn't want him. It was just like Becca and Brawn story when both wanted each other, but didn't really talk to each other to find out their true feelings.

Tiger and Zandy had some great smexing and action... kidnapping and things... But the hospital scene...WOW...

Another Great Story In New Species!

I really love this series, it full of steamy sex, romance, and lots of suspense that will have your heart racing.

Brawn and Becca really have to work together when they are captured and locked in a cage. Brawn who's been a captive before is familiar with situation and is very angry but he helps Becca coupe as she has never been subject to this kind of treatment. Their capture brings them closer together but when the are freed, Becca's father ensures Brawn stays away from Beccca that is until a big secrete is reveal that will change both their lives.

Each story has intense heart pounding suspense and steamy sex with lots of attractions between the main characters.

I loved Brawn, he is another one of my favorite characters!

Awesome Conflict/fight scenes Premise same

Still like this series due to great conflict/fight scenes. But still there is NEVER any mention of any other race other than the new species males & the pale human female with long hair (anglo) . No mention of a reporter, cop, waitress, healthcare worker or any other background character of different race just to throw in some inclusion for those non white reader/listeners. So far each book is about a male species falling for a human female (always anglo with pale skin & long hair age around 30 ish) STILL the stories grip & the conflict is great. In 2015 I'm surprised that there is no inclusion of other ethnics/races in stories but good writing is still good writing.. Will continue to follow series and spend my money for them. Four stars was for great story without ANY diverse characters weaved in the story. I wish that the author would consider making a MINOR character with dark skin. In America everyone runs into someone with DARK skin in their day to day activity.

Aaaaahhhhhhh Justice, YES!!

I've wanted to hear Justice's story since I began this series and I was not disappointed one bit!!!! This sexy story was further enhanced by his romantic interest--Jessie--I LOVED her! I've gushed about all the preceding stories, and my adoration of this series continues. Justice's story is less of a "nailbiter" than the other one's so it was a nice change. It still has action, but, it focused more on him coming to terms with his public persona versus being a man in love. I adored every moment, definitely a credit worthy series.

Justice ~ Favorite Character and Story!

Justice was, is, and will always be my favorite character in this series, and I absolutely loved his story! It was a refreshing plot change from having a lead female character who always needed to be saved to a Jessie, a tough kickass female who was a perfect fit for Justice. (Dang, is it wrong to be jealous of a character in a story?)

Justice is the face of New Species, he looks out for his people, he's caring and can be dominate. I loved the scene at the party, when Jessie is trying to leave because she is tired of hiding their relationship from everyone. Justice, in a show of dominance, calls out to her over the music and crowd and demands she come and stand right in front of him. Jessie does not want to make a bigger scene timidly walks up to Justice and stands right in the spot he is pointing at. Then while she is standing there and everyone watching, he announces to everyone she is his mate. :-) Did I say he was my favorite character?

This series is in my top 5 favorite PNR's..............*sigh*

Sooo good! MINE!!!

I really like the New Species series... however not all the books are on the same level...

Book 1 was great, but book 2 fell short to me. This one was awesome! I actually think this one was a bit better than book 1. Only slightly. I love the whole possessive alpha male thing...

I love they way this book started... with Valiant and others in a showdown of dominance because the human invaded his territory.. Then he grabs her up and makes her his!!! It was awesome. The whole book was pretty darn good.

Great Credit, Buy or Sale.

I love the series......but

I have the same complaint as the cyborg series. I have listened to the first 3 books in the series and its following the same pattern, even all the way down to the short human females (again). Don't get me wrong the series is still good, great plot line, funny characters. I just need more variety. The first 3 books are very similar..... New species huge dangerous male falls for a tiny little fragile human female, the female is captured / attacked by fanatic hate groups and the NSO goes a retrieve the female mates, the end. I think I might die of shock if there was a tall human woman in the series, or mixed breeding or a new point of view of the plot line. I am going to continue with the series, they are entertaining, I hope some new stuff comes along in the series....if not I will be disappointed. I don't want to hear the same story 9 times in a row.

Valiant Valiant Valiant!!! I LOVE him, and I totally loved this book! I'm so hooked on this series right now it's all I'm listening to. I laughed so many times throughout this book it was as though it was a romantic comedy. Valiant's reasoning and his passion for Tammy made this one of my favorites of 2013 for sure. Although I'd consider it within the paranormal genre its just different enough to offer you a change of pace if you're into paranormal romance novels.

In most ways, this is just the kind of book I seek

This was a treat. I like longer books with lots of detail and respect for the reader's need for a plausible story. If an author wants to send me through time or into another dimension, then I want at least a fair explanation of how that happened. I'm one of those unfortunate people who can't suspend my understanding of reality and just go with a story...give me something to let me think the strange circumstances MIGHT happen. This story does that.

The publishers' summary gives you an idea of the plot. I don't like reviews that retell the story, so I won't do that here. Here are the pros and cons as I see them.

Cons: The author seems to have an ax to grind with pretty people, Only one character who I would classify as "good" gets to be attractive; a female magician who befriends the heroine. All the other favorably portrayed characters are plain, disfigured or elderly (not that older people aren't still beautiful). I get that it's nice to read a book about romance between characters that aren't unrealistically handsome and beautiful. But this story goes a step further; almost implying that real aesthetic human beauty does not exist, but rather is always an illusion.

Men don't fare much better. The hero is surly and sour and killed his first wife. (no spoiler here. This information is provided early.) There is a handsome knight, who is pretty dim and "dismissable". There again, pretty can't have anything else going on.

My last con: This is the beginning of a series? trilogy? I knew that going in, but this book doesn't end, it just stops, mid story. This isn't so bad if the next installment is in the works and can be expected in a reasonable amount of time. Let's hope the author doesn't operate on a timetable similar to Harkness (A Discovery of Witches) or Gabaldon (Outlander Series). While I understand the amount of detail and research I love takes time...three year cliff hangers take away from the enjoyment of the story. (IMHO)

Pros: This is an interesting take on magic and travel between other versions of our world. The descriptions of the heroine's life in this strange world are rich. Magic is treated as any other area of study: the student might have aptitude for a subject, but hard work and practice are the key ingredients. Don't get me wrong..we're talking magic here. Some smart theories about how it works, and even the implementation of good old Algebra are utilized, but the basis of the story is the ability of many of the character to cast spells and enchant others. So it's escapism..but with some thought required.

Others reviewers have said they wouldn't put this book in the romance genre. While there's no bodice ripping or endless declarations of love, there is no denying this is a love story. A complicated and unfolding one. I like that too.

Really enjoyable

Would you consider the audio edition of Inescapable to be better than the print version?

Loved it. Lots of turns and twists in the story line all the way to the end. Some parts are a little over juvenile (use of slang seems weirdly placed at times) but still very nicely written story. Love triangle causes a lot of angst, but looking forward to next book. Really liked the sound of the narrator! Worth the credit.

Mysteriously Delicious!

I love paranormal primal lust with a side dish of loaded mystery! It completely kept my attention. Evie is off to college only to run into a gorgeous upper classmen Reed who seems to loathe her existence and always seems to be around her even when she tries to avoid him. Evie finds comfort in her friends especially with a football player named Russell. Evie feels completely at home with Russell but completely in lust for Reed. Of course Evie is no ordinary girl and she is just finding out how special she really is. I'm off to the second book! I have high expectations now I hope it maintains the mystery and lust. Yes, Very credit worthy!

Very Surprising!

Where does Inescapable rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

I bought this title on a special 2 for 1 offering by audible, not really understanding that it was a YA book. After listening to it for awhile, I became interested in the main characters and invested in what happened to them, especially Evie. When I finished listening to Inescapable, I immediately bought the next 2 titles and then the 4th as well. I also downloaded them to my spare iPod to share with my 13 yr old granddaughter, so we could listen to them together.

Wickedly Delicious

Once again, Ms. Wright had my laughing so hard at work; I got questioning looks from my co workers. This book is hilarious. Jamie doesnt have as big of a potty mouth as Taryn but that doesnt make her any less funny. I like Jamies strength and courage and her struggles throughout the book, and Dante, WOW!!! He makes me wish to be wolf-shifter.

I love Jill Redfield as a narrator. She always gives the performance that little extra. Such as when a line says the character laughed, she actually says the line laughing. Its that little extra that makes her reading very enjoyable.

*****This might be a spoiler, but if you read the first book you should be expecting this. The funniest scene in the book was when Taryn went into labor. I literally cried, I was laughing so hard. Thank you Ms. Wright.

Same outline as book #1

I was bored by the booked, in spite of it's hot sex scenes. The format was predictable and followed the lines of book 1. I did love the narrator, though. I won't be continuing the series.

Just as awesome as the first book in this series!

Again I start by saying you won't be disappointed with this author/ narrator combo! These books are worth it. I always get excited when I see a new release in this series. This book will suck you in from the start. There are secrets, action, passion, love, determination, bickering, humor, sex, danger....just make the purchase already!

OHHH..... SOMEBODY BITE ME PLEEEEEZ

If you like brilliantly written PNR's that are HOT then you just HAVE to get this hot listen.

It was so funny, hot, tender, frustrating, romantic, sexy and did I say hot? filled with great characters that all get involved in the hot love lives of two wereshifters who, despite their life long attraction, fight the mutual attraction between them until it ultimately leads to a 'no strings' hot sexual relationship that was enjoyable and just fine for both of them.... that is until one day their eyes met and a connection was undeniably made.

Worth a credit? Absolutely YES - it was all I expected and more, (should you have missed my other clues - it was hot) from the brilliant mind of SR and the characters and emotions were easily tackled and filled by the many voices of JR who shows just how a gifted narrator can make a really good book great.

Another cliff-hanger, more Vlad and Leila to come!

Wow! I just finished listening to Twice Tempted and I am blown away. I have been counting the months, days and then minutes after listening to "Once Burned", the first story about Vlad and Leila. I preordered the audiobook and downloaded it seconds after it appeared in my library.

The first story was really interesting, as unlike the previous novels in the Night Huntress World where the vampires, ghouls and demons have special powers, this time it is Leila, the human, who has extraordinary gifts.However, unlike the Night Huntress novels which achieved closure for the main story arc in each novel, Once Burned left us hanging.

This story has even more plot twists, with unpredictable events continually surprising the reader, yet they are integrated seamlessly into the plot line. Lots of trouble, broken hearts and romance, action and adventure, loyalty and betrayal. What a wild ride!

However, at the end, just when I thought the whole plot was going to wrap up nicely, Jeanine Frost left us with another cliff hanger! I am really glad that there will be more Vlad and Leila, but now I need to go scour the author's website to see how long I will have to spend in agonized waiting to find out how this story finally ends! I sure hope it won't be any longer than the wait for this book.

If you read Once Burned, if you are a Night Huntress Cat and Bones fan, this is a must buy audiobook. However if you are as impatient as I am, you may want to wait until this mini series within the larger Night Huntress World has concluded, as the wait is really going to kill me!

Once again, Tavia Gilbert has done a fantastic job with the narration and her skill really enhanced an already exciting story, and bravo to her and Frost for another great story. Hmmm. I think I'll have to listen to them back to back next. . . or maybe listen to the entire series again, as I do not want to leave the Night Huntress World!

A Book FULL of events and actions

This book is worth the wait, you wouldn't expect all the events that will happen here, you would think they will be continuing the search as all will think so. But no, this one is full of heart breaks, hearts unbreaks, death and surprises....

when i recall what happened here, i'm actually surprised of all the events...

When it was good, it was very, very good...

What made the experience of listening to Lover at Last the most enjoyable?

The characters! Ward's BDB universe is filled with lovable (and loathable) characters of every description, and this book features a full caste of familiar faces and new creations. Blay and Qhuinn's journey is, of course, the primary focus of this story, but we also get further insights into Xscore, Layla and Assail, not to mention the shaddow brothers Tres and Iam. At times the constant switching back and forth between characters and storylines gave me literary whiplash--and to be honest, I felt like Assail (whom I hav so far found to be a completely unsympathetic character) got too much air time. But as always, Ward managed to draw me in with her vivid descriptions, frequently hilarious dialogue and the ever-shifting political and interpersonal currents that bring this world to life.

What other book might you compare Lover at Last to and why?

LAL resembles most closely the last few books in the series because the plot weaves several storylines together and jumps back and forth between them. Also, I was getting some serious Suzanne Brockmann vibes at points--If you like her Jules and Robin storyline you'll probably enjoy this book. The circumstances of the characters are very different, but their emotional struggles are similar.

What does Jim Frangione bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

As always, I appreciated his ability to bring the characters to life, to give them personality, while both staying true to the authors' descriptions and avoiding overdramatization. There were some noticeable recording glitches in this book--some areas where the tracks didn't blend seamlessly, and some places where the text seemed to contain errors. I blame that on the editors though, not the narrator.

Surprised they didn't check my ID

This is not the first time I've looked over at my partner in the middle of a book and declared "This is Porn....", but this is probably the best time.

Usually books like this one, that are beginning to redefine both paranormal fantasy and the bodice ripper genre, are written so that I just want them to be over with so I can enjoy the good bits and stop cringing in between. Not true of this story!

There was enough interesting plot and non relationship tension to make this book a book I would have wanted to read even if it hadn't been for the INCREDIBLY steamy scenes between the two leads. There were also quite a few very funny lines and quips.

The only thing I didn't like about the book was that some of the secondary characters veered pretty far into "stick figures with a schtick" territory. Most of the time this was still fairly amusing, but sometimes I just really wanted them to shut up.

Jill Redfield did a great job of bringing across the main characters voice, and reading the steamier bits without distracting from what was going on. I always feel like the best narrators are the ones you don't notice, and so I guess she did a great job, because she only made the story better.

Overall, totally worth my credit, but I will not make the mistake of listening to any more of her books with my car windows down again! Hi Kids!

You'll Bark! You'll Howl! You'll Tell the Pack!

Wow! Paranormal lovers, remember this name: Suzanne Wright! I'd never heard of her before, but I've already started seeking out other work by this author. This book was unexpected and amazing. While it stays within the paranormal genre, it still felt fresh, in large part I think due to the fantastic characters.

Our heroine Taryn is sassy, sarcastic and often just plain rude. This is not, I suppose, unusual in the paranormal romance genre, and these very traits, more often than not, make me grind my teeth in frustration. Often these smart mouthed heroines sound like spoiled teenagers trying to prove they are tough, but that's not the case with Taryn. Somehow, Suzanne Wright makes it work. Taryn's dialogue comes across as witty, her sarcasm is more often than not hilarious.

Trey is an alpha male you can believe in. He truly follows his wolf instincts, and I really enjoyed that. No simpering human in wolf's clothing, Trey is all beast and brawn when the need arises. While it's true that, in this book, the heroine steals the show, she doesn't do so without a good deal of help from the hunky hero.

Yes, the sex is hot, and not for the faint hearted, but it is meaningful and well balanced in this book.
