Powerful story to bring the deifiur to their place

Would you listen to Eternal Magic again? Why?

Absolutely! Not only do I enjoy the narration done, but there is a good bit of information shared and learned in this novel.

I don't want to say much on the story and give away the great finds we have here. Linsey keeps the story moving fast, giving us many answers and information we have been wanting. There is something that happens or surprises me in each chapter, moving the story along by leaps.

We start to get answers to Cass's past, though have more questions too. I look forward to learning more and more with Cass as she learns her power and what tasks she needs to work through with her sisters. And more about Del and Nix. Interesting how they are all connected.

What does Laurel Schroeder bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Laurel returns to voice Cass. I have really grown to enjoy her in these stories. She voices Cass and all with voices and tones that have become them. Even the new characters we meet have a voice of their own, even just slightly different than those we've grown use to. There are accents used as we do visit Ireland and Scotland as well. Laurel's pacing is wonderful, helping to keep the story moving along. She feels to be in the persona of the characters as she narrates. There is no hint to stopping and starting over, all is smooth in flow. Lovely job.

Any additional comments?

It's neat seeing the pyramids, statues, and different places along with traps in them when Cass and sisters and friends are on the hunt. Also the way stories were written with the details of Egyptians and setup of the pyramid. It feels as there is a lot of care and research put into writing these moments. I love how the sisters attempt to take care with the sites they visit. They believe in preserving what once was so others can treasure it as well. It's those pesky demons sent after Cass and sisters that make a mess!

We get to spend time with the sisters together, Del, Nix, and Cass. I really enjoy seeing them together. And we see Connor and Claire help them again. And of course we get Aidan. Cass and Aidan are just lovely.

Loved it. I want more!!

Listening to a Torchwood audiobook allows the listener to escape into their own imagination. It works really well especially where the monster would be too difficult or cheesy to portray on film.

I thought the readers were fantastic also and I look forward to more stories.

The Lost episodes

These tales do a great job of continuing the adventures of Cardiff's finest. can't wait for more!

I did not finich this book

The first few stories had a good buildup and interesting plot, that all of a sutten were finished. It annoyed me. There were a few good stories but where I dropped the book where where they reached the torchwood season 4 timeline. The part where they fucked up the series. From there on I had no interest in the rest of the stories

great value for a credit

I wouldn't have baught these separately but for a single credit well worth it.

The stories range in quality but there are a couple which for a Torchwood fan are well worth a listen.

Why oh Why did they ruin this series by changing the format?? I could easily have seen it going the same way as Supernatural if they'd just left it alone!!

fantastic short stories

some amazing short stories by some amazing actors. It kept me on the edge of my seat! Once I started listening I couldn't stop, I didn't want to stop! I would definitely recommend the audiobook to any sci-fi fan.

We need a lot more from Touchwood!!

Great Story Line

To all of us Spider fans this book does not disappoint. Lauren Fortgang does an excellent job of voice differentiating and story telling.

Jennifer Estep once again expands the story breathing even more lfe into the storyline. Personally I started this series on kindle and also have the complete set in Audible, it is that good. In fact if you are starting this series go back to book #1 Spiders Bite. the book does stand by itself, but I would recommend to start at the beginning.

her powers keep getting weaker each book

i just dont know if i can keep listening.... the over all story is great but the fact her powers and abilities just dont match up with past books and the epic battles she has had in the past and each person she fights she keeps getting weaker with her powers and never trains to better herself.

Oh Gin. It's not me; it's you.

Oh Gin. I need Gin after this one. How is this book rated above a 4? Are people rating without reading? I started this series, broke up with this series, and now I'm contemplating the real end of our relationship. Gin is supposed to be the Queen of the Underwold. Best Assassin with the power of two elements. But it's a lie! She always gets beat up, trapped, kidnapped, tricked, and suckered. She is lucky she isn't dead. LUCKY! This series should be called THE LUCKY SPIDER. I mean REALLY people... here are my issues:

1. False Title. You can't be the Assassin Queen and barely get away every book.

2. The convient flashbacks.

A Satisfying Conclusion

What made the experience of listening to Red Queen the most enjoyable?

Red Queen is the second and final book of the The Chronicles of Alice. This dark and delightfully contorted retelling pick-ups where we last left off with Alice and Hatcher. While there is a prologue, I do not recommend reading this title out-of-order or as a standalone. For that reason, I am not going to be providing a recap during this review.

Once, there was a girl called Alice, and she lived in the New City, where everything is shining and beautiful and fair. But Alice was a curious girl with a curious talent. She was a Magician. Do you know what a Magician is?

The Chronicles of Alice easily fall within my favorite of retellings. Fast paced, gritty and beautifully re-imagined, Henry gives new life and breath to a loved classic with Alice. I was filled with elation to immediately discover Red Queen was no exception and would follow in the shining footsteps of its predecessor.

We are now accompanying Alice and Hatcher on their journey to find Hatchers lost daughter Jenny. But alongside of our familiar heroine and her somewhat unstable companion, we are introduced to some new and rather eccentric individuals. This includes Pen the giant and the denizens of their current surroundings. Each encounter provides additional insight into Alice and Hatchers quest and the Red and White Queens. The author cleverly relies on this new ensemble to convey the history and fill in many blanks.

The world building maintains the previously introduced, bleak yet imaginative setting that manages to effectively pique the curiosity and encourage further exploration. While the environment is a more limited in this adventure, I did not find it to be any less appealing. It was well-tailored to the direction of the story and serves its purpose.

It is fair to mention at this point that Red Queen is not as dark and graphic as Alice. Do not approach this portion of the story expecting the exact same action packed experience or you may miss all that it actually has to offer. Here we are gifted with a rather unique but welcomed change of direction or turn of events. The tale is now very much character driven and the pacing has slowed but not without justifiable reason. Through fragmented memories, we are exposed to Alices past and family life. Any pre-existing questions are answered and the veil is finally lifted from Hatcher as Henry thoroughly examines Alices relationship with him.

Absolutely incredible.

This book had me from the start. Really enjoyed the flow of the book bouncing around from story to story. it really painted an interesting pucture of the Spanish Reconquista. and the crazy part is that most of it is true. Obviously excluding the supernatural aspect of the novel.

All in all I loved it, and Im just glad they made an audiobook of this finally!!!

Not sure, but it would comparable to a book which cycles between present and past focusing heavily on the past.

Yes, he's done other Dragon Age series books. I think he portrayed the characters well. they were distinct from one another but just wasn't how I imagined them in my head. Which is all well and good, i just improvised

Really enjoyed this book. Though it wasn't a continuation of anything, it was still great in it's own right and very enjoyable to listen to.

Wonderful continuation of the storyline

This was a wonderful continuation of the storyline. Hearing the story of the Fourth Blight and leading of what occurred after the Fifth was enjoyable. The performance/narrator did an excellent job.

Now I know what happen to the Griffins

An incredible story of heroes & horrors. I have always wondered what happen to thr Griffin's & now I know. Nothing could be more bitter sweet.

maybe it's just me

This story had potential but the narrators dry delivery made it hard to get into. I think there was a lot of action in this book but you wouldn't know it because the narrator's tone never wavered. I was also dissapointed that the author did not provide much texture to the environment and the charachters felt flat and bland.

Aida and Story Experiencing Burnout

A big let-down in many ways: a) Way too much repetitive discussion on how inscrutable and ruthless the Ross'El were, b) out-of-character Aida philosophy-waxing and even "war-is-hell" preachy at times, c) bringing down army troops as lead force on the insurgency and then landing the marines much time later, d) a mere captain (Aida) given the authority to call a "Zulu" audible to bring forth the 10 meter titans and break mission critical overt status, e) the 10s of tons of titans being able to instantly jump over 20 meters in the air using their thruster power which by definition are only maneuvering rockets, f) the same titan to use that jump to artfully place a jujitsu-like titan knee face plant on an approaching enemy golem, g) Aida being able to gain a rudimentary understanding of an ancient Grav starship within a few minutes because ... polyglot.

In the end, Aida did get one thing right, she should have stayed a first sergeant.

With that said, the writing and narration were still good; it was just the story that had degraded.

Aida goes back to her roots

De Oppresso Liber is Evan Currie's 6th installment in the On Silver Wings series. This time out, captain Aida Soria leads a special ops onto a recently discovered inhabited planet that the Ross appear to be playing out like Hayden. This gravity well however is home to an intelligent, indigenous race that have not yet advanced sufficiently for Alliance consideration. While Aida's mission is to train an native, insurgent, guerrilla force, her natural tendencies rise to the surface and she uncovers the real intentions of the Ross world invasion and discovers buried secrets that may tip the balance of Alliance power and put Earth on an equal footing with the Ross.

The sci-fi elements continue with an alien theme. The new alien race, while overall humanoid, are uniquely distinct and intriguing. There's also more exploration of Alliance history, especially concerning the Grav, the Ross' natural enemy and the only entity that has been able to fight them to a standstill.

Another Must Read from Tarah Benner!

Tarah provides readers with another great chapter of The Fringe series with Lockdown! This books sees the strengthening relationship between Eli and Harper who both are willing to suffer through anything to protect the other. We also get a much more personal view from Celdon, Sawyer and Owen. We, as readers, have the ability to know what motivates each of their actions, but the people closest to them don't have that same insight which makes the conflict more real for the characters.

I love Tarah's world building in her different series. You have a very realistic sense of the lives that the characters are living. I would highly recommend all of Tarah Benner's books! I have read everything she has written so far and she has an amazing ability to picture how the world could be in different scenarios. Her research is thorough and she creates very believable situations. This is my second time through The Fringe series and it is just as good as the first time!

Awesome book

I really enjoy Tarah Benner's writing. I love the world that is the Fringe and also the compound. I didn't think I would like the multiple points of view throughout the book but I ended up really liking some characters that I didn't in the other three books. I like Sawyer and Celdon's character development as well as being able to see into Owen's mind. I can't wait to read the fifth book. If you don't read the author's notes at the end of the books you really should they are fascinating. I can appreciate the research Ms. Benner does while writing.

Good read, but I liked the 3rd book more.

Honestly I didn't get "into" the book until I was about 80% done. The cliffhanger was good, but it also felt stale. We've been there before (SPOILER ALERT) with Eli pretending to be Owen and it seems like that's where we'll head for the fifth book, but now you have the added layer of Sage and Jackson, so it might play out differently which will be refreshing. I am fully committed to the series so I will for sure be reading book 5 when it comes out.

Beginning: We start out with both Eli and Harper in custody and taking beatings. Been there, done that. Celdon is still trying to play spy within Constance. And Sawyer is blissfully ignorant (mostly) in H&R.

Middle: Eli and Harper are out of jail and into full love mode! Exhibitionist much? Celdon found out who his mother really was.

What a fantastic series, I'd love to learn more about the characters and maybe hear more adventures from piper and ash :)

Any believe it's over!

I absolutely loved this action packed series and this book too. I am so sad to not be able to read more. I'm so ready to dive into more books now though!!

Thrilling Plot & Great Narration!! I Want More!!!

Absolutely. The story was thrilling and enrapturing. The narration was on point and so diverse! At times, I forgot that only one person was speaking the multitude of voices. This entire series had a plethora of action, romance, and at the right moments - a touch of comedy. I absolutely loved this story line. Jam Packed Awesomeness!!!! This series of books are the type of stories that leave you imagining their lives beyond book, once the story has ended.

Lots of adventure to keep you interested. the ongoing plot has one goal after another and Piper continues to impress with her abilities.

Story lost its pacing... and tied up too many ends

Not really sure where the author can go from here... A bit disappointed about pipers lack of relationship, friendship or otherwise with Lyre. With so much emphasis on her relationship with Ash she has left very little room for anything else.

This book has one of the few stories involving inner turmoil that I could understand and not shout an obvious answer at the main character. The book is cunning with the political games being played and shows off the different "sides". very enjoyable
