I am so glad that I waited until I'd acquired several books in this new series because the first was so good. I have already begun the second but I stopped to write this review before I made the mistake of reading five of them then attempting to distinguish what happened in which book. I loved how this first one ended. I was driving and listening to my kindle, I was so intrigued I had to pull over so I could begin the second in the series. Ms Jacks knows how to tell a story. Action action action! You never knew what was coming next. A quiet lull to fresh out some of the many alpha and omega personalities then....someone's hand is cut off. Who knew there was an omega pecking order? If you're used to "kind" humane vampires get ready to be introduced to some very vicious v's. Enough to make you want to tear down the curtains and let some sunlight in! The inter-paranormal struggle for power is intense. In this world "safe" is a relative term. Even the alpha wolves at risk during these dangerous times. And in the midst of all of this is a pregnant omega. This is a cruel, harsh environment in the best of times, if you are unlucky enough to be small, "defenseless", alone, and pregnant it's a living hell. So how do you get a HEA out of such bleakness? Marcy Jacks is just that good.

entertaining

EDIT 1/5/15 I just finished reading eleven books in this series. Why did I waste my money? Let me sum them up really quick so you can save time;

1) Alpha=male and Omega=female. The writer may fantasize about gay sex but not gay men. She doesn't know either.

2) the Omega mates get pregnant but there is no information provided about how or why. Also no information about delivery. Shouldn't there be a backstory with details?

3) the author doesn't know the difference between rape and sex.

There are the usual werewolf tropes here so nothing new as well as the usual gay sex myths. More drama than I was expecting but I liked that. Some history and background was nice and a little plot but not much.

No information about how a male gets pregnant, carries and gives birth.

McShannon series

I really enjoyed Shane and Kenya, Shane is very tender and sweet, he is very giving. The passionate scenes I thought both hot and tender.

The one complaint I have is with the audio recording, there were a couple of repeated spoken words, this is poor editing and should have been picked up by the producers. These distracted the listening and were annoying.

I would definitely recommend this book to friends. This was a great short romance story. Shane and Kenya had great chemistry. I have listened to several books by the author and love how Ms. Maxim write about strong, smart, sexy female characters. I would have liked to get to know more about Shane and Kenya and wished their story was longer.

Submission for beginners

The story is good, but my goodness is it basic!

Is it really necessary to call every part of her, 'her little xxxx' every time it is mentioned? Is it really necessary for the Dom to explain exactly what he is planning to do to her twice before he does it, once while doing it and again after he has done it?

I enjoyed this, but wish it weren't so patronising to the reader!

Loving it

Itâs like they are made for each other, they have chemistry like no other. Arrow and Goldilocks canât seem to get enough of each other. Goldilocks knows she is happier with Arrow then she is her own fiancé. Arrow is starting to fall in love, an emotion/state that he hasnât felt in so long; Goldilocks is making him feel things he hasnât experienced. Hopefully, Kara is ok, if sheâs not, Arrow will never forgive himself.

I did love this book. It was was hooked. And I wanted to read the other stories. Well written. I enjoyed the story line.

On the surface, Space Raptor Butt Invasion may appear to be just another exploitation title in a turgid sea of bizarre erotica, but don't let that fool you. Dr. Tingle is to man/dinosaur butt loving what Romero is to zombies. He takes his chosen medium and transforms it into a metaphor for astute social commentary. Sorry but this was awful, I hope the writer gets better, as the idea for this type of writing is good, but needs work....
