After doing a stretch of hard time in juvenile jail, he cleaned up his act as a computer techie - only to be laid off when the economy went south. No!!!!
this is such a disappointment. all the other books I purchased by EJD have been attention grabbing a full of action.
    Fast paced and engaging.
Where does Thieves' Paradise rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I would say that this is up in the top five of the audiobooks I have listened to so far.
What did you like best about this story?
I appreciated the suspenseful nature of the story and the fact that although tragic, there was a level of redemption for the hero.
Which character as performed by Bill Andrew Quinn was your favorite?
    Big Slim
    You Won't Be Disappointed
This book was definitely worth the credit. Fantastic storyline, and well detailed of the characters. I really enjoyed this book along with many others similar to this writing style from EJD.
    Worth the credit.
This was a really easy listen... Good for work or while sitting in traffic. Time will fly by.
    Not what I thought
Book was ok. Was a little weird that there were so many characters to do. In my opinion the book didn't get good until the end. The beginning was a lot of dragging on

    Publisher's Summary:
Two years have done little to ease veterinarian Audra Hughes' grief over her husband's untimely death. Eager for a fresh start, Audra plans to leave Portland for a new job in Philadelphia. Her seven-year-old son, Jack, seems apprehensive about flying - but it's just the beginning of an anxiety that grows to consume him. As Jack's fears continue to surface in recurring and violent nightmares, Audra hardly recognizes the introverted boy he has become. Desperate, she traces snippets of information unearthed in Jack's dreams, leading her to Sean Malloy, a struggling U.S. Army veteran wounded in Afghanistan. Together they unravel a mystery dating back to World War II, and uncover old family secrets that still have the strength to wound - and perhaps, at last, to heal. Intricate and beautifully written, The Pieces We Keep illuminates those moments when life asks us to reach beyond what we know and embrace what was once unthinkable. Deftly weaving together past and present, herein lies a story that is at once poignant and thought-provoking, and as unpredictable as the human heart.

    The Pieces we Keep
From the opening minutes of this audiobook, I was riveted. Audra's love for her son, grief over the death of her husband, and complex relationship with her in-laws made for compelling reading.
In 1940s England, then new York, Evelyn's love story unravels. The past and the present interconnect, diverge, connect again.
I liked that not everything was wrapped up in a neat little package, even as certain coincidences made me shake my head.
That having been said, this story is well worth your time for its emotional complexity and well-done narration.
    did not keep my attention
The story was good but for some reason it did not keep my attention. maybe it was just me.
I am very disappointed in this novel. I
Is there anything you would change about this book?
There is a poor story development compared to what was possible. She lost me after halfway through the novel- otherwise I would have returned it. Highly disappointing!
Has The Pieces We Keep turned you off from other books in this genre?
I will not look at her books
What aspect of Saskia Maarlevelds performance would you have changed?
..she was not the problem!! The author is!
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Films and novels are often 2 different entities. Her novel is not well written.
    Any additional comments?
I was so disappointed and looking forward to well crafted novel and the author did not complete the task!

    A tidal Pool...
Has more depth than this trash pile of words. There are very few books in this world where I have cared less about any of the characters in this coma-inducer. The entire plot was as spicy as tapwater. If Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street had a book club the only reason they wouldn't recommend this selection would be because it was below their readers intelligence level.
    Great part 2!
Where does Roxy's Story rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    It was pretty good!
What did you like best about this story?
I just like how they told the story behind Roxy, the first book almost made you hate her. Its good to see the story from another angle.
What does Amy Rubinate bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I like her but not as much as Rebekka, that I think read the other one. She kinda grows on you tho.
Who was the most memorable character of Roxy's Story and why?
    The guy who discovered roxy.
    Any additional comments?
    Love V.C. Andrews!
    Great Read
VC Andrew books never ceases to amaze me.A must read series as always.l can hardly wait to hear the next book in the series of Forbidden Sisters.

Based on the real-life horrors faced by thousands of girls, award-winning author Pamela Samuels Young takes listeners deep inside the disturbing world of child sex trafficking in a fast-paced thriller that educates as much as it entertains.

But Brianna is in for a horrifying surprise because her boyfriend doesn't exist. Instead, Brianna unwittingly becomes the captive of a ring of drug dealers-turned-human traffickers who prey on lonely girls from dysfunctional homes. But they've made a big mistake in targeting Brianna because she doesn't meet either of those criteria.

    Almost too real
This book is difficult to listen to but even more difficult to stop. Amazing, realistic and gritty story of a girl pulled into an underage sex trafficking business and the struggle to find her. The amount of detail about the business and the frustrating laws regarding it are mind blowing and well researched.
The narrator was amazing and had a believable voice for every single character, whether they were male or female, Latina or African-American, frantic or insolent. Soooo well done.
Though there is plenty of violence and strong/sexual language, the author has a knack for perfect realism without using overly graphic details or excessively vulgar language merely for shock value. It's a gritty story but realistic and believable in every way. I would read it again, but only after I've recovered emotionally just a little. ;-)
Social Awareness is required to stop human trafficking!
This is a great book to bring social awareness and education to the very real and horrifying topic in the USA and world wide, human trafficking. The only way for our nation to bring a stop to the human trafficking and sexual exploitation of our children is to make everyone aware of the problem. And demand our lawmakers create actual punishments that are not just a slap on the hand. Please consider being part of the solution to this horrific problem in our era. Pamela Samuels Young provides a list of websites to visit for more information and consider supporting. It is going to take help from everyone to eradicate human trafficking. And its all too true, any child in your very own family can be the next victim of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
The story is very good and the narration is superb.
Diffucult to listen to because of the topic
Listening to Anybody's Daughter is painful and infuriating. It is pain that need to be felt and anger that is necessary to stir action. This novel is about sex trafficking of early teen and preteen girls. The primary responsibility of adults is to protect children. Many of the adults in Anybody's Daughter are ruining the lives of children to make a profit. The pedaphiles that are the customers are as bad as the people that are involved in the sex trade of young girls.
This is Book 2 in the Angela Evans series. I have not listened to the prior book, but will soon. Angela Evans is a young black lawyer in the Los Angeles area. The book is well written. Narrator RC Bray is among the best and he does a great job.
    Awesomely written and narrated!
This was my first Audible book and I really enjoyed it. Ms.

    What an emotional story!
I read and listen to books all the time but this book engaged me from the very beginning and left me upset, hopeful, disappointed for the characters, surprised, devastated to the point of "ugly crying" for hours and finally loved. Both the writer and narrator did their part in this well written book. I will read it again.
missing a little something but still good
almost 4 stars. I liked this book; there were some moments that I teared up, some parts were hard to read because of content & there were also parts where I thought it could've gone a little faster. It seemed like there was a big time lull that could've been filled with better....?; I don't know, something
    Just Okay
Would you try another book from Maggi Myers and/or Amy McFadden?
The narrator was fine but I don't think I read another Maggi Myers book unless it was a good deal thru whispersync.
What do you think your next listen will be?
This question is irrelevant to this book so I will give my opinion on this book. This book was just okay. It has great reviews on Amazon which made me eager to read it. Although the subject matter was tough to listen to it made the book stand out. I also enjoyed the relationship she had with Tommy and the evolution with her parents. Unfortunately, I still found it rather boring and rather predictable. With the great reviews on Amazon I definitely dont recommend anyone avoid this book because of my review. I guess it just wasnt my cup of tea.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I read this book only a week ago and I can't recall a favorite scene which goes to show how much of an impact this book made. I really only remember the molestation scene because it was tough to listen to.
Could you see The Final Piece being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
This could be on Lifetime for sure!

    Never Ceases to Amaze
If you could sum up Sociopaths in Love in three words, what would they be?
    twisted, sexy, cannibalistic
What other book might you compare Sociopaths in Love to and why?
The Bible because there's a lot of necrophilia
Have you listened to any of Andersen Pruntys other performances before? How does this one compare?
It's really priceless to hear the author's own voice telling his story.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
For the Love of God: Don't See This Movie
    Any additional comments?
I can't think of a better way to spend six hours. The dynamic relationship between the main characters kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I dare you to find a dull moment in this story. When I wasn't almost vomiting I was laughing, when I wasn't laughing I was crying and promising myself I'd stop reading things like this. Exactly what I look for in a book!
    Boring - no climax
The narrator sounds bored and monotone. The story itself lacked any real cliffhanger or exciting moments to keep me engaged. It was gross and I think meant to be "shocking"...and though it certainly wasn't predictable it was rather far fetched and unbelievable. The kind of strange "fantasy" elements really ruined the vibe of the story as well. I wouldn't waste your time.
