Title: The Dalai Lama's Cat and the Power of Meow

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 56 mins

    Publisher: Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 57 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
In the latest installment of the Dalai Lama's Cat series, His Holiness' Cat ('HHC') is on a mission: to think less, to experience more, to live in the moment. She soon learns the proper phrase for this: being mindful, or a concept better known to her as the power of meow. What ensues is a journey to discover her own true nature, to gain a deeper understanding of her mind, and to experience life's greatest joy: the here and now.
Throughout, she shares encounters with familiar inhabitants of Dharamsala as well as a whole new cast of characters: a senior exec from one of Silicon Valley's most famous social media companies (hint: the name rhymes with 'litter'), the Pope's beloved dog (who shares a shockingly similar title: HHD, His Holiness' Dog), and a public health inspector who threatens to have our poor narrator banned from the Himalaya Book Café.
In this follow-up to The Dalai Lama's Cat and the Art of Purring, listeners can escape to the enchanting and exotic world of the Dalai Lama's monastery in the Himalayas and take a peek inside the mind of a delightfully imperfect creature on the path to enlightenment. By accompanying HHC on her journey, you will learn new ways to relate to your own mind: slowing down, finding peace, and abiding in the boundless radiance and benevolence that is your own true nature.

Is a Sequel Coming? I Hope So!
This is the third, and so far last, book of the Dalai Lama's Cat series. Because new characters are added throughout the series, while the original characters remain and change, the stories' pace quickens through the series. It's still perfect, in my opinion, both the author's narration and the story itself.
A couple of points to ponder: One is that if you decide to listen to and/or read this series, begin with Book One and take them in sequence. Otherwise, much of it won't make sense, which would be a shame.
Another point is that I don't know if another sequel is planned, but I certainly hope so. This book introduces you to many interesting characters and continues the storylines begun in the earlier books, but leaves many loose ends. For that reason, I hope that the series is continued. We'll have to wait and see.
The Power of Meow, book 3 in a fun teaching series
Hopefully you have started with book 1 and also read book 2 of this series. The story line is excellent because the author is a keen observer of felines and humans, and canines too.
The life lessons that are included within the story are brilliant choices and there was one lesson in one of the 3 books that resulted in instant recognition and some reflection on my interactions with people and poor choices I have made - and recognition may help me behave better in the future.
There are many threads woven into the saga, and the one about reincarnation and the same people and animals incarnating into subsequent lifetimes was fascinating.
The bonus, of course, is the gentle teaching about meditation and its benefits, and the practical teaching of meditation too.
Beautifully narrated, professionally produced, a real pleasure to listen to.
    he knows his cats
excellent for putting the challenges of beginning meditation into practical positive steps for success.

Simple, Basic, Inlighting, moments of oh yeah.
listening and thinking apologetics is truly needed in today's world. this is a nice simple , pleasant and non- argument way of dealing with today's culture one-on-one and in the small group for apologetics.
    Good Arguments, too cheese.
The story and all element of arguments, apologetics and all it is perfect, but the environment and the way conversation unravel is too cheese, only believers will found it truly convincing.
In the real world would be totally opposite, there would be more Darwinist trying to disprove the point, or adding arguments that tend to distract the questions asked.
I have never encounter a situation publicly that the majority will agreed with intelligent design. It is quite the opposite.
Would be more realistic if there would be more challenges thrown by skeptics, this would make this play more credible and even more interesting.
This is too good to be true situation. Believers should be more aware that this is not a real world expectation. Things are harder out there, and this type of writings would help even more with real life challenges.
Try to do any of this arguments on a TED Talk forum, defending ID and discrediting Darwinism and you will get my point.

    Real and Compelling!
Susan Meissner is one of my top 5 favorite authors. I found that I had not read Why the Sky is Blue, one of her earliest books so I just had to pick it up (on my Kindle). I'm very glad I did! The story is hard to imagine as the main character has some very difficult things to deal with; ones that I would not want to have in my life. She wakes up in the hospital after being attacked, raped, and not remembering it. The decisions she must make along with her husband change their lives and their children's forever. The mind struggles she faces follow her throughout the whole book. The book is told in two segments; one in the main character's voice and the other by her daughter. The tone is different in both yet adds to the depth of the damage done and the redemption that occurs. Life does not go as we plan and this book is a good reminder of that reality. It's how we deal with what comes along and how much we depend on God to give us direction, comfort, and peace.
I recommend this complex book Why the Sky is Blue by Susan Meissner. She does not disappoint!
My book club loved this book!
My book club has read books by Susan Meissner in the past. I think one of our members had gotten Why The Sky Is Blue at a discounted price from BookBub, or some such site, and suggested we read it. The name Meissner was enough for us all to give a unanimous assent. I didnât know this book was her debut novel until after I had read it. I never would have guessed. It is a well-written story that touches a nerve in a reader. I could not put it down, and I think you may have the same experience.
Claire Holland is faced with a nightmare scenario. With no memory of the vicious attack that left her broken, she must face the reality of a pregnancy. It is not an unwanted pregnancy, at least for her. But the child is not her husbandâs, and that reality alone puts a strain on her marriage and family. Faced with no other choice but to have the baby and then give it away, Claire struggles to do the right thing. Sixteen years later, Claire is faced with another decision that threatens to turn her carefully constructed life upside down.
Why The Sky Is Blue created more discussion in our group than we have seen in recent months. We actually spent most of our time talking about the book! That is quite an achievement for us. Our conversation centered mostly on the complexities of the charactersâ reactions to the situations in which they found themselves and their motivations in attempting to control the uncontrollable. We found most of the characters to be believable and relatable.

    Publisher's Summary:
"JENNIFER HAS WRITTEN AN AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL BOOK." (Kathie Lee Gifford, Today Show host and Emmy-award winner)
A novel based on true experiences, Come to the Garden is a story about a womans journey with a mysterious angel that encourages listeners to believe heaven is closer than they think.
Author Jennifer Wilder Morgan served as a hospital volunteer, visiting critically ill patients praying with them and listening to their stories. As she created a safe space, patients began confiding about the mysterious ways God spoke to them including encounters with angels, visions of loved ones whove passed on, and messages of comfort spoken in dreams. She witnessed the profound healing that occurs when people are permitted to talk about these experiences, and as a result, Morgan was inspired to share her own personal encounters with God in a novel.
In Come to the Garden, the main character, Jenn, wakes up on her birthday to discover an angel in her backyard garden. The angel, who calls herself Margaret, is charming and funny, and she knows that Jenn has been questioning a lot of things about God recently. Is he really there? How is anyone supposed to believe that God truly cares for us when we see so many bad things happening in our world, and we experience the disappointments and tragedies of life? But Jenn suspects that God has been trying to speak to her in mysterious ways. If only she could figure out what He wants her to know. Margaret is here to help her understand.
Framed as conversations between Jenn and her guardian angel, this unconventional and charming narrative will strike deep into the hearts of anyone seeking a greater understanding of God. Come to the Garden is an inspirational fictional story based on real events about the surprising ways God works in our lives and affirms that heaven is truly closer than we think.

Wedding day arrives for Lieutenant Banks, and the whole gang is enjoying themselves. Jason is the lone detective on duty, and before the night is over, he must leave the celebration.
The scene he finds himself at is the opposite of where he just came from. A cold-blooded murder without any apparent motive, and very little in the way of evidence. Just a group of friends who can't understand why one of their own is suddenly gone.
Jason and Vanessa will have to think on the fly, adapt to a constantly evolving situation, and find a way to close a Circle of Fear.

Dalglish writes superb modern detective mysteries
Audible classifies this novel as fiction - Religious & Inspirational. That is false! It is a modern detective mystery, a wonderful one. Getting accustomed to the narrator took some time but he is very good with voices.
    Another Good Story by Dalglish
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Joshua Bennington is the voice of Detective Strong. His voice and accents allow a listener to follow what is happening at any moment. The book is presents another case where reasoning allows the case to be solved in a way I sort of picture might happen in a real case. The dialog between Vanessa and Jason works well. I have already gotten one of my friends hooked on the series. I hope Mr. Bennington is back in book 13 when it comes out.
Have you listened to any of Joshua Benningtons other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have been fortunate to have reviewed several other books in the series. I have enjoyed Adjuster Stories and Boating: A Life's Journey which that Mr. Bennington has performed. He takes on a variety of projects and gets the job done.
    Any additional comments?
The series has a lot to offer and should be considered by the Audible world.
    ANOTHER GREAT DETECTIVE STRONG STORY
What did you love best about Circle of Fear?
I HAVE LIKED ALL OF MR. DALGLISH'S DETECTIVE STRONG STORIES AND THIS STORY WAS ANOTHER THAT I HAVE GIVEN HIGH MARKS TO. THE STORIES ARE INTER-RELATED WITH THE FAMILIES OF THE POLICE FORCE AND THAT BRINGS A PERSONAL TOUCH TO THE CRIME STORIES. HIS STORIES DO NOT HAVE ANY BAD LANGUAGE IN THEM AND THAT IS ANOTHER POSITIVE FACTOR FOR ME!!!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
MY FAVORITE CHARACTER WAS AND HAS BEEN JASON STRONG. AFTER ALL THE STORIES DO CIRCLE AROUND HIM.
Have you listened to any of Joshua Benningtons other performances before? How does this one compare?
I HAVE LISTEN TO ABOUT 5 AUDIO BOOKS BY JOSHUA BENNINGTON AND HAVE LIKED THEM ALL. I LIKE THE DIFFERENT VOICES HE GIVES THE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS. GOOD NARRATOR!!
    Any additional comments?
IF YOU HAVE NOT GOTTEN THE COMPLETE AUDIO SERIES, YOU SHOULD. THE STORIES ARE ALL DIFFERENT GOOD LISTENING!!
Detective Jason Strong gets the Killer
What did you love best about Circle of Fear?
I liked the suspense to the end of the story. We never knew if there bwas going to be another killing.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Circle of Fear?
I thought it was interesting that Dalglish let Strong it shot!
What about Joshua Benningtons performance did you like?
We have liked all of Joshua Bennington's performances so far in the different Dalglish's stories.

Great read of 1880's historical romance
This historical romance is Book 2 in the Michigan Brides series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. Jody Hedlund, the author, has a unique flow of writing and style. The era of this novel is in the 1880's. I highly recommend this author and the narrator as well as this audiobook.
    2 of my favorite characters
I really fell in love with the characters in this story. Such a beautiful journey to take with them as they learn, grow and find true love. Excellently written and, as always, Mary Sarah Agliotta is just brilliant! The story is a great combination of mystery, suspense, adventure, humor and romance. Highly recommended.
    Beautiful Story
This is the first book I have ever read, or listened to by this author. It was a beautiful story of a sweet love between the heroine, Annalisa and the hero, Carl. It was a love that grew over time and it felt real. He was the most caring man with a fun sense of humor that won Annalisa's heart. She was a woman who was so sweet and precious and loved her family. I highly recommend this book.
    Simply Wonderful!
I thoughtfully enjoyed "A Noble Groom". The story line, the characters, and length of the book were perfect. Jodi Hedlund doesn't disapooint in developing full characters, adding depth and strength to each. She uses very descriptive language to help the reader fully engage the scenes and emotions involved. The is the first Audible book I've read narrated by Mary Sarah Agliotti and I look forward to listening to her again. The end of this book left me wanting more of Analise, Carl, and the children's story to continue, yet satisfied with the author's conclusion.....but wonder....a prince or princess? or BOTH!
    Wonderful story and beautiful naration.
beautifully narated story of early immigrants to Michigan surviving hardship and finding love. Great story.

Set in Massachusetts 1773-1774 this historical romantic drama grabbed my attention and did not let go. Eliza Campbell, only twenty years old, feels the weight of responsibility on her as her father dies, leaving her with a secret she cannot tell, even to her younger sister Kitty, Robert Campbell's dying words to her are "find the truth." There is money for them to live on, so that isn't a worry. Finding that truth and the danger it could bring is.
Thomas Watson is being blackmailed by a villainous Red Coat, Samuel Martin. Thomas tries to do the right thing by giving just enough information to the man to keep his family safe. Samuel is evil and threatens more harm.
Thomas learns that something he told the blackmailer has put Robert Campbell's daughters in danger. He rushes to their house and rescues them just before the soldiers arrive.
That is all the description I am going to give. There is so much drama in the escape. Thomas helps Eliza learn the truth she promised her father she would find. They fall in love but are each afraid of admitting it, when they finally do, WOW!
There were a few slow moments of everyday life in the middle of the book, but they quickly passed. The author writes quite a riveting scene when the Boston Tea Party is just a side note to the drama that is taking place in the Campbell home.
The narrator does a really good job of bringing out all the emotions in the book.
The ending is fantastic! There are no cliffhangers but I do look forward to listening to the next book.
    nice but not swoon worthy
I enjoyed this reading. I was okay with it being a christian novel even tho i typically prefer my historical romance with just a taste of passion. the author does give u steamy kissing but if u want more go elsewhere. Also, as a Christian I didnt expect to be bothered by God talk however it is kinda heavy and central to the plot. I dont know how I felt about the main characters actually hearing God speak to them or the deceased father.
