intense and enthralling.. a real winner!
A hare maid on a quest, a young hedgehog thief in exile, a badger male enslaved.. and a vicious golden fox captain with his sights on Redwall abbey.. these fates are all intertwined in a dangerous and fast-paced tale of Redwall. This story is among the best in the series! listen, share and enjoy for, after all, such heroes are remembered here and good beasts are always welcome to know them here.
    Read over and over again
Amazing book read over and over again the characters set good examples for life.i guarantee that you will love Eulalia.
    Great book
Great book great story line wonderful characters great battles fun and joyous to read just another great book in the series
    Not quite up to par
Would you listen to Eulalia! again? Why?
Probably not. The story hardly had anything to do with Redwall at all. Of all the main characters, only one of them was a Redwaller. I felt like Redwall only came into play when the main characters needed something. Shelter? Redwall. Help with the final battle (who cares that Redwallers are peaceful beings who, according to the story, have nothing but a poor medley of items barely counting as weapons)? Redwall. Not only that, but the characters were all over the place. It was like one of those stories where the characters are looking for each other but keep missing each other by looking the wrong way or walking in a different direction by accident.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The idea of the story was good. A badger imprisoned by sea rats hellbent on seeking revenge for his enslavement and the brutal slauter of his family, a hare maid of the long patrol THIS CLOSE to being kicked off the mountain, and a little misguided hedgehog booted out of the abbey for a season to learn some good 'ol life lessons all sound like a mix for a great story. But, as amazing as Brian Jacques is, much of the story felt forced and certain things just glossed over.
Have you listened to any of Brian Jacquess other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've read many of his books and I've listened to many of his audiobooks. Performance-wise, this is just as fantastic as the others. It's so great getting to hear his songs actually sung and different voices for each character.
    It was great
great I really like the storyline alot. it was really good. I.love listening to it with my dad

    A winner
Would you listen to Betsy-Tacy again? Why?
Yes, my 4 year old granddaughter and I have listened to the book over and over again, as we drive back and forth from her house to mine.
What other book might you compare Betsy-Tacy to and why?
This book is incomparable. A classic
What does Sutton Foster bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She has a musical voice, very clear and pleasing to the ear. Much of the pleasure of listening is her perfect intonation.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, one chapter at a time is usually best for a four year old.
    Any additional comments?
I think this book teaches children very quietly and indirectly about what it means to have an imagination and about the ways that children can entertain themselves without many toys or outside forms of entertainment.
The first of one of the best series of books!
Loved it! I want to listen to more from this series! I've read the books so many times. It is delightful to listen.
    Sss
And you so much better be good for a great game great great game to play with
Wonderful narration of a classic children's story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Children have loved the Betsy-Tacy series for decades. I had heard of the books but somehow never read any of them as a child. I checked the first book out of the library for my daughters and we all fell in love with the series. They were very excited to discover the audiobook version. Sutton Foster is the perfect narrator for this book.
    Any additional comments?
I hope the publishers are planning audiobook versions of the rest of the Betsy-Tacy series, hopefully with Sutton Foster narrating again.

    Loved it
I really enjoyed the books ten and eleven, also by Lauren Myracle. I'm turning twelve in a few weeks so decided to hunt down this book and I found it on audible. I really enjoyed it and the voices were decent. Although, as you may have read in other reviews, it has some mature topics, so don't read it if you're not twelve or almost twelve. Overall one of my favorite books and can't wait to read Thirteen and Thirteen Plus One.
This is a pretty good book
I kind of liked this book. I kind of liked this book because its about becoming a teenager and how to put in a tampon and stuff like that

    Members Reviews:
    Spring Always Comes
Grace Conlin has a deep, expressive, wonderful voice and is perfect for Lucy Maude Montgomery. She is a pleasure. I think she is a bit like the Story Girl, Sara Stanley, who could keep an audience as she recited the multiplication table.
I have read and re-read most of Montgomery's works including her scores of short stories. As best I can remember, they are all about the people of her little postage stamp world of the Maritime Provinces and particularly Prince Edward Island. I think for the most part, her stories are true in the sense that they happened to someone, sometime, somewhere in her little kingdom. They don't feel made up with a proviso for artistic interpretation. Her stories are simple, the kind one tells at the kitchen table, front porch, general store or over the fence. They are for kids and adults like me who are old enough. In "Anne of Green Gables" Anne reveals one of her guiding principles: "Don't ever do anything you can't tell the minister's wife". Perhaps Montgomery followed this rule in her writings, not surprising for someone who first published in a Sunday school paper. The older I get, the warmer grows the special place in my heart for simple tales especially when one needs a break between say George Eliot and Elizabeth Gaskell.
I especially enjoyed the adventures with Peg Bowen the reputed witch. The awkward man's romance with a very beautiful woman is a delight. How does a woman get him to propose when he is painfully shy and both of them madly in love? Then there is the cat. Montgomery always includes cats. My favorite Montgomery cats are at Patty's Place in "Anne of the Island" but this cat is pretty good. A wild time is had by all. This book doesn't tackle the big issues but sometimes one doesn't want to be bothered by the world and its problems. Sometimes, one is satisfied with small crisis's and small joys.
WHY? Why is the narrator so bad?
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Grace Conlin?
I'm so sad. All the Montgomery books seem to be narrated by very poor narrators. Is it me? Why is it so bad? The drone is boring and there is little inflexion... or it's put in the wrong places. These books deserve a better narrator.. maybe someone who loves the books more? Or a better actor?
LM Montgomery = Favorite, But Not with This Book
I really love the great Lucy Maude, but this book was probably a low point for me. If you are interested in this book, I would say spend the time re-reading one of the Anne books.
    Wonderful Stories
It was enjoyable to listen to.

    Publisher: HarperAudio
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 58 votes
    Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10
    Publisher's Summary:
The Clans have finally arrived in their new home, following the prophecies of their warrior ancestors. The journey was difficult enough, but now they must struggle to establish territories and learn the hidden dangers of this unfamiliar world. Most importantly, Leafpaw knows they must find a replacement for the Moonstone, a place to communicate with StarClan. Otherwise there will be no way to choose new leaders, no way to share medicine cat secrets, and no way to know whether the Clans are on the right path.
The future seems uncertain, and more than one cat is harboring sinister plans that could lead to violence and darkness. As all the warriors wait for a sign, some of them begin to realize that the threats they face in the forest may not be as perilous as the threats they face from within.
    Members Reviews:
    Amazing.
What did you love best about Starlight?
As a devoted Warrior cats (or Warriors, as it was later renamed to), This review may be biased. One thing I love about the series in general is it's amazing and in-depth story arcs, and this book definitely lives up to my hype about the series. It is a major turning point in the entire series and it was handled perfectly; the characters' reactions, worries and excitement about their new home was right on and I could definitely empathize with them all.
Who was your favorite character and why?
It's hard to pick a favourite character as every single one of them is so[ unique and interesting. But if I was going to choose, I would say Brambleclaw and the way he was handled particularly stood out to me. We got to see his struggle with separating from the original cats from the journey to the sun-drown place in detail, his craving for power and the uncertainties that came with it as well as how he struggles with knowing that Hawkfrost is his half-brother and that Squirrelflight doesn't trust Hawkfrost at all; and subsequently, the tension that comes between them.
Have you listened to any of Nanette Savards other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not seen any of her other readings yet, as not many of the Warriors books are audio books as of yet, but I'd be glad to do so when I can. This one is great, it's clear and well spoken. The only issue I have with it is that some of the voices of the characters don't sound right, but then again, I don't expect her to be able to do a perfect male voice. Overall, it was great to hear my favourite book series get a reading as great as this one.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There wasn't a time in the book that didn't move me; it is amazing.
    Any additional comments?
I would love it if more of these books are turned into audiobooks in the future, be it by Nanatte, or someone equally as talented.
I would recommend this to anyone. As people often say, this series doesn't seem to appeal to just one audience; it's a cat story, so you would assume it's for children, but it has quite a bit of gore and some genuinely adult and familiar themes which could point towards teens or above. So I would recommend it for people who love adventure, a bit of gore at times or love cats, like I do.
    Brilliant
If I had to pick a favorite WARRIORS book that I could listen to on my Apple Nano, I think this would be the best.

    Touching and warm
This story of a dog's journey from puppyhood to old age tugs at the heart of tender listeners. Parts of it were a bit too sad for my 10-year-old son who is an avid dog lover. That said, the tale is well-told and doesn't shy from the difficulties of life as a stray. My son, despite having sobbed when Squirrel recounts the loss of her mother and brother, daily asked to listen to the story until he was able to finish it one rainy Saturday afternoon.
A bit serious, the book is still a good choice for anyone who loves animals and who wants to encourage their children to see the world through the sees of the noble dog.
