I totally enjoyed this book. I liked the almost instant connection between Matt and Penny. I also have a Matt in my life and it seems we came together over our love of books and video games. This book just seems to mimic our relationship in a lot of ways. Yes, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is crushing on someone. I gave the rating of 5 stars because the story is so uplifting and flirty. Also I really enjoyed the narrators voice, her voice just seem to be that of Penny. So often I stop listening to a story because the voice just doesnt jive but this was bang on. I would like to hear more from Bailey Varness and Ellen Dominick. So now I will order the rest of this series. I kinda wish this had all been just one complete book.

dry book. good plot but no sex. PG maybe.
I will never read a book from this author. what a big let down. It could have been so easily been done to a very hot sexual read with the plot.

    Disappointing & not worth buying
Chapter One was excellent. Then the storyline progressed so fast and was so unbelievable that I couldn't believe it was a Rebecca Winters book. In addition, new characters were introduced & not fleshed out. The editors must have spent overtime cutting out content while over embellishing the traits of the hero.
    Good
it was alright. It was not on series that I wanted. I was reading the rancher series and this was part of it.
A Mediocre Title for an Engaging Romance Book
Colt Brannigan did not want to hire another ex-convict. The previous one stole from his family. When another request came, Colt told them no. Geena Williams, released from prison after the real murderer was captured, traveled down to the Brannigan's ranch to apply for the housekeeper position. Finally winning Colt over, Geena proved her worth. But can they put their pasts behind them to start a new future together?
This book encompassed all that I like about the Harlequin Romance line. As I was reading, the story just flowed so easily from one chapter to the next that I was breezing through until I was, sadly, already at the end. The plot is pretty light, despite the serious topic. And this is jam packed with good scenes between these twos. The main characters were awesome. There are not many people like them in this day and age and I appreciated such genuine people. However, the side characters were the ones who had less than stellar attitudes. LOL This is a clean romance.
Would I recommend? Definitely for people who love sweet, simple romance novels, with a smidgen of good drama. If you like Christian romances, this is perfect to you as well. If you like passion and drama, pass this one up. It will not suit your taste. The only reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 is because I would not probably not read this again. But definitely worth the one time read.
    Sweet jesus...
I must admit that this type of book isn't normally on my radar when it comes to reading, but I was in a foreign country on vacation and this was the only book in the hotel's library shelf that was in English, so I gave it a go. Three hours later I was dumbfound that one could make money writing such tripe.
I will not attack the "novel" for being a G-rated romance that is, I could only assume, targeted for Jr. High girls. Having a target audience is just fine, but the writing doesn't have to be Jr. High quality itself.
Memorable scenes included the main character adopting her deceased brother's baby (which took nothing more than a signature) from a convent after finding out through a DNA test the legitacmy of the baby. Mind you, the main character was just released from prison weeks prior and where is the mother of this baby you ask? Oh, she is in prison herself for going down the evil paths of marijuana usage.

    I couldn't finish.
First off, this is a romance written to appeal to Christians. I was unaware of that. Even so, I've read Christian fiction with engaging characters and storylines that hooked me from start to finish. This is not one of those books. The characters are two dimensional, the romance is founded on nothing more than looks and shared faith, and the non Christian characters are all hateful caricatures of human beings. No. Just, no.
    Not such a fair catch...
I am an avid reader and love many different types of books but this one did not measure up for me. It started off ok but as I got more into it, it sounded like immature kids trying to act like adults but failing miserably!
The main heroine was SO immature it made me sick! I kept rolling my eyes or thinking to myself, what is she 12??!
I wouldn't waste money to read this let alone a credit.
    Sweet!!!
Another wonderful story by Ms. Anderson! If you enjoy a sweet, romantic book, this is one is for you! This is a story about finding love the second time around. I loved all the joking around between the H and h, not to mention all the romantic kisses!! This is a keeper!!
    fantastic
loved it! fun clean romance. couldn't stop listening. thanks audible, Cindy and great job narrator.
    Great listen!!

    Publisher's Summary:
When Beth Michaels hightailed it out of the hole-in-the-road town she grew up in, she only had two goals. One - get as far away as quickly as possible, and two -never set foot in her parent's home again. But when she receives a heart breaking call from her childhood best friend, Jen, she has no choice but to turn her '56 Ford pickup back in the direction of Salem, Missouri to attend a funeral.
There's a new local in town when Beth arrives, and suddenly, it ain't all that easy for her to remember her rules for dating.
    #1. Cookie-cutter-perfect guys ain't her type.
#2. Tie wearin' and church frequentin' is an automatic dismissal.
#3. Most importantly, never date anyone from small minded, conservative, Bible-thumping towns like Salem.
Unfortunately, Matthew Wright breaks all her rules and then some.
Matt might be from a small town and have small town values, but that doesn't mean he fits into a little slot of Beth's preconceived notions. After all, ever so often good guys are good. Now if he could just convince Beth to let go of her past and give him a chance, he's pretty sure there's a whole lotta sweet under that prickly exterior. His own Sweet Contradiction.

    Good story, Dull dialogue
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I had read this book before, and I enjoyed it. So I was interested in listening to the audiobook. It was different listening to a book I'd already ready. It was worth listening to again.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweet Contradiction?
Why do you ask me to give up spoilers?!
All of the parts dealing with the rough spots. It shows how someone is able to function, despite them.
What three words best describe Heidi Mattsons voice?
    This is difficult without explaining:
southern: I was actually quite pleased to hear the story told using a southern accent.
dull: Only during the dialogue. It lacked emotion.
awkward: There are lots of parts that felt like a kid was standing in front of a class reading a paper they wrote.
Do you think Sweet Contradiction needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I think a follow-up story would be great, especially if told from Jen's point of view.
    Any additional comments?
I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
    ****3.5 Platypires****
    not bad. christian influence.
not bad. a Christian read. narration wasnt a good fit didnt flow naturally very stilted. Hopefully a follow up with the story of hunter as that was built well into this one.
    Wonderful coming of age story
This was a wonderful, sweet read. The story of a girl who is trying to escape the town she grew up in comes back. Peggy's writing is smooth, relatable, and living in the South, I experience it everyday. The relationship between Beth and Matthew feels right and unfolds beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And Heidi Mattson's narration fits the story to a T.
    Highly recommended.

    excellent story...loved the journey
You need to read the connected series to understand Ben's journey...from Dahlias story to his happily ever after. I feel that Ben was the star of this series. loved the book alot.
    Entertaining, but a little long!
If you have read the series than this fits right in. I got a little bored around chapter 32 and felt some of it could have been edited out. Overall a good conclusion to the series and glad I read it. I didn't mind the voices at all.
    Well done Kim Karr
Just wishing for another book of this series , just wanted them too look for their adopt child the narrators unbelievable , awesome voices
juvenile; poorly addressed adult themes; sex
My first impression is about feeling duped albeit unintentionally. I didnt enjoy the female narrator and likely wouldnt have purchased the story if her part had been in the book sample I listened to. So having the story swing between the two narrators didnt work for me, since I didnt experience them in the same way. Similarly, I didnt like the split focus on both Ben and Bell, simultaneously having both characters tell their side of the same story. The author did a poor job of making it clear when the characters were in the past or in the present. I dont always dislike this type of storytelling, but here, it didnt work for me. And I think it was due to the female narrator. I just didnt like her for this story. And it might have been largely due to me thinking I was getting one story, focused on one character, and getting something else.
The story is told from the first time they met, which was during college as undergraduates. I generally avoid stories about college-age characters, and Belle acted as an immature college-age female the entire story. Even when it focused on the present, it was confusing. It seemed like Belles life was that of someone fresh out of college & quite young. While Bens life, the way he behaved and spoke, made him seem older, the age he was supposed to be, somewhere in his later 20s. Another reason I thought this story was one of older people was because the book description referred to Ben dealing with his fiances leaving. I was very disappointed to hear a story where that was not quite the case, Belle and Ben, especially Belle did not act older, not even as mature people in their late 20s. Matt was a much more interesting, complex and mature character than Belle. She just messed this story up for me in every way.
Clearly, I didnt like Belle. I may have liked the book better if the book only focused on Ben, as I initially thought it would.

Best book in the series so far - Great Narrator
BEST BOOK IN THE SERIES SO FAR!
I loved this book. In book four, we learn how the smaller communities outside of Envy live, and it focuses our attentions on Theo. There is very little mention of the other main characters in the series until the last few chapters.
At the end of book 3 Theo was shot and then his body disappeared when his friend went to get help. He turns up at the house of the infamous death lady, but instead of helping him to the other side, she miraculously cures him. He finds her intriguing and after discovering a room full of computers upstairs he decides to stick around for a while.
This book is comical at times and I found myself laughing out loud more than once. With references to things from before the change (farmville, disney, geocaching, and the princess bride!), which is actually now, I find it interesting to think what it will be like 50 years from now when I look back on my life.
The few mentions of Waywren, the character from Colleen's Gardella Vampire Chronicles, was awesome! I wasn't expecting that, but I love that most of her work connects in some way or another. Waywren is truly magical it seems, as she appears in Regency London and again in 2060'ish.
I'm really enjoying this series and can't wait to start the next book.
    Envy Chronicles Book Four
    Envy Chronicles Book Four
Theo lands in the home of the Death Lady after being shot by Seattle. Selena manages to resurrect him with her secret crystal and brings him back to health. Along with her son Simon, friend Frank and mother-figure Vonnie, Selena and Theo get back to life as usual...until he learns about Selena's secret. Meanwhile, Lou makes his way to find Theo, and Remy and Ian mix in with other bounty hunters to hide her identity. This book takes the reader away from Envy and into the lives of residents of other areas, giving another perspective on the change.
Narration: Sebastian Fields narrates the series with fluidity and calm. He keeps the voices simple, yet distinctive.
If you're looking for a book about redemption, heartache and the love that gets you through it, this is the book for you.

    Critic Reviews:
"Fans will find much to praise in Hart's handling of her characters' pain and emptiness and their tentative steps toward redemption." (RT Book Reviews)
    Members Reviews:
Characters fall well short of the mark
Flying is about woman named Stella. Stella had endured a personal tragedy that precipitated her divorce. She has a practice of picking-up men by flying to a city and hooking at arbitrary bar for a one-night-stand. Here is the thing, you never quite connect with Stella. Also, Matthew, her eventual love interest, is just not likable on any dimension. Why Stella would put up with him, I have no idea -- he should have been given the heave ho -- seriously. Also, her abrupt changes have her breaking character several times, very jarring in a bad way.
The revelations happen late and timed at awkward times. You could forgive that a bit if the timing wasn't so ill timed that it leaves you shaking your head. Also, the supporting characters have massive unresolved issues and act in ways that leave you scratching you head as well.
I usually like what Megan Hart writes but this is a dud. I would definitely pass.
    Ugh
    What disappointed you about Flying?
Everything. I honestly didn't even care what happened to a single character by the 4th or 5th chapter.
Has Flying turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I usually love them. Including Megan Hart's other books.
How could the performance have been better?
The performance wasn't bad, but I kind of hated the actual characters.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not so much. Even the ending was a let-down.
    Any additional comments?
    Save your credit.
Another Great Book from Megan Hart
    Any additional comments?
I love Megan's unique way of telling stories. Her books cover the whole gamut of emotions. Another great "listen!"
    love Megan, loved this book!
This is a story with a lot of heart that any woman mid life will truly relate to! Read it and you too will be flying.
Excellent narrative but story falls flat
Megan hart characters are usually fully developed and flawed. I feel like she missed something with Stella and Matthew. The heroine is like able, but many Megan Hart fans will agree that Flying is missing the magic her other characters/books have.
    The narrator was excellent.

    THE BEST
From the beginning to the end this has been one of the best books I had read! So many authors have a way of chopping off the endings to where you feel like they were growing tired of the writings and just ended it leaving so much to the imagination that nothing seems to fit right. Warrior Heart wasn't filled with a bunch unnecessary details that you just skip over to get to the meaningful parts, I really love your work and will definitely look for more of your books. Thank you so much for sharing your talent for all of us to enjoy. Great book!
    Loved this book!!!!!
This is another winner from Jane bonander! I can't begin to say how much I enjoyed this book. The storyline was extremely interesting and had me turning the pages and unable to put the book down.
If you love a good western romance story, this is one book I highly recommend. The storyline and characters will definitely keep you wanting for more and if you are like me, you will hate to see the story end.
I definitely give this book five stars and it will be one of my favorite books that I will be reading again.
I love the style of writing by this author and I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future.
    Read this before...
I've read this book before in soft cover, but then my book got lost, so I haven't read it in a while, but I never forgotten the name of the book, or the name of the characters. This book shows that what's lost can always be returned, and come back, and that love can form in many ways.
    read
This is the third book written by Jane Bonander and I have enjoyed each and every one of them I can't wait to read more she has written.
    Warrier heart
The book starts out good, but after the marriage Libby is so wrapped up in her own selfishness, it became a tedious boor, seriously being jealous and demanding enough to require a chaste marriage. Over the top.

Francesca is now a lawyer...and Cade is a mess up alcoholic who has disappointed everyone he knows again and again...Cade gets in trouble and once again his dad bails him out by getting him a lawyer....Well tada! Its Francesca his long lost high school love!
These 2 have always loved each other...After a night of passion, Cade finally admits he is an addict and goes to get help....they write love letters...(that won it for me) And there is a wonderful HEA!!! I bought book 1.5 I have to know what happens next...and I am glad they have a different narrator...Maria is NOT horrible...but her male voices need a LOT of work....
I still loved this story....and recommend it if you like a beautiful romance!!!

    Great story, Love the characters
Would you consider the audio edition of Mangled Hearts to be better than the print version?
I prefer the print edition of this book. I read it and fell in love with the characters and listening to the audiobook the narrator didn't capture the characters the same way I did in my head so it was a bit strange. The narrator did a good job, and had I listened before reading the answer to this question may have been different.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Mangled Hearts?
Any moment with Cade is memorable. From the moment he met Francesca to the moment he first saw her again. I love this couple!
Which character as performed by Maria Hostage was your favorite?
Francesca would be the closest to what I pictured as far as the voice.
    A Feel Good Story
I liked the idea of Cade finally realizing that he could be a better man. So many people lose the battle with alcohol and don't get that second chance.

Greyson Twining is the handsome owner of the club. He is charismatic, alluring and way out of her league. While his smile sets her heart on fire, everything else about him makes her want to run away. Especially when Meg finds out that her roommate and confidante, Nancy has gone missing.
Meg isn't sure if she can trust her heart, but as more secrets are revealed, she fears that she may already be in too deep.
The Private Club 3 is the last volume in the explosive Private Club series. Listeners should be 18 or over due to mature language and situations.

I love the mystery side of the book
(too me adding this later book #1 does have more steam than they other books but don't let that get you silly, it doesn't mean the other 2 do not have steam, just 1 has tons more??!) they all came out in Feb 2014, I am shocked that they didn't work as 2 books, I am not sure how they decided to break it up into 3 books? I love the mystery side of the book, not that the other parts are not interesting or do not pull you in. They do for sure. I love Greyson, I tend to like the characters that most don't ...he is a totally jerk, but he doesn't tell you otherwise, u like it or don't??! what you get it there, there are no hidden mirrors. Now why I say there should be only 2 books, it seems you keep hinting around the point and where the book will head but it ending of each book kind of makes you think? Okay will I ever know the point? So glad for me personally that all 3 were out so I could see the ending. It is there. promise. If you are one who can wait, please do. so Worth IT!! I am totally new to J.S. Cooper and Helen Cooper ... not sure what they are? sisters? brothers? same person? hubby & wife? does that ever happen? that would be a cool team of writers? I will have to do my research. I am so glad I did find them and can not wait to see what else they do write. Book #1 was free at the time ...how I was sucked into the whole set. Must read. Loved it. And I would say that ending that mean book #3 has a HEA ending. check it out! ( :
