Title: The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone
    Author: Adele Griffin
    Narrator: full cast
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 6 hrs and 54 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 08-12-14
    Publisher: Blackstone Audio, Inc.
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 4 votes
    Genres: Teens, Mysteries & Thrillers
    Publisher's Summary:
From the moment she burst into the downtown art scene, 17-year-old Addison Stone was someone to watch. Her trademark subversive street art and her violent drowning left her fans and critics craving to know more about this brilliant wild-child who shone so bright and was gone too soon.
Two-time National Book Award finalist Adele Griffin offers an ingenious fictional take on celebrity biography, as told in first person interviews through the eyes of Addison Stone's parents, friends, boyfriends, mentors, critics, and more - punctuated in full color with Addison's artwork, photographs, and emails. When it comes to Addison's untimely and mysterious death, nobody escapes unscathed.

Unconventional story telling at its best
Addison Stone takes the art world by storm with her hanging drawings and magnetic personality. Her death is a tragedy of unfulfilled talent leaving behind friends, family, fans and detractors. But who was she? Writer Adele Griffin inserts herself into the story as biographer of the fictional character, attempting to discover what made and unmade the teenager through a series of interviews with those who knew Addison best.
I love a fresh or unconventional take on storytelling and Griffin does just that with THE UNFINISHED LIFE OF ADDISON STONE. She includes photos, drawings, newspaper articles to help tell Addison's story. Unfortunately, Kindle doesn't do the best job depicting images, and I gave up trying to read the newspaper articles because I couldn't expand the words to read them more clearly. I wish I could have also enlarged the drawings and photos. I didn't let formatting effect my review, because that's not Griffin's fault. The aspect of the images I do fault is the quality of the drawings. Addison was supposed to be this once-in-a-lifetime artist, but the drawings looked amateurish and not at all deep or haunting.
From the way others described Addison, she seemed quite unlikable, even as a child. Of course, mental illness could have contributed to her self indulgence and narcissism. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, she seemed more schizoaffective to me, with her mood swings, which is ironic because another character was schizoaffective. Addison Stone was a tragic character due to bad parenting, mental illness and being treated special because of her talents. She used people and people used her.
THE UNFINISHED LIFE OF ADDISON STONE shows the versatility of Griffin as a storyteller. If you're looking for a different type reading experience you'll enjoy this.
    Ambivalent
Still trying to decide whether this novel is a good read for my teen. It was hard to find even one redeeming person in the entire melange of characters, certainly not the schizo mean, gold digger lead character. Te book reads like a tv reality show more than novel, and the magnified sense of talent of the fake Addison/Allison seemed contrived. Youth enabling other youth and the art/media industry exploiting that, especially in a large city environment, I can agree might be a decent theme to hammer home.

    Narrator: Maren McGuire
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 3 hrs and 29 mins

    Publisher's Summary:
Join Keatyn on Thanksgiving break in this Keatyn Chronicles novella.
I've finally become the kind of girl my little sisters could look up to. Except for the lies. Lying to my friends is killing me. And the longer I'm there - the closer we get - the more I feel like I'm being eaten from the inside out. If I go back to Eastbrooke, I'll end up nothing but a shell. So I'm not going back. I'm going to St. Croix by myself. And for the first time in my life, I'm okay with being alone. Except...I don't actually end up on the island alone. This novella is number 4.5 of the six-book series.

    Adore Me
I'm not sure how I really feel about this novels. I know that Jillian wanted to keep with the theme and pick up where everything left off in the previous book, but this one was a little lacking. Keatyn is starting to get annoying with her back and forth ping pong between Brooklyn and Aiden. Keatyn letting Aiden come on the trip annoyed me. Her forgiving Aiden because he "gave her dirt" annoyed me. The fact that she felt it's better for her to leave school and everything she had become accustomed to and where she felt safe to go off and plan some attack on Vincent is beyond me. I think that it's really fitting that Keatyn is only 17 years old. She hasn't grown and while she feels like she's an adult and wants to have an adult relationship, she's not ready. She still plays childish games and she can't open her heart. Aiden is also annoying especially since he thinks he'll be with Keatyn for the rest of his life. Dawson was right when he said he didn't honestly know if he would be with Keatyn forever. They are young and should be thinking about their professional furutre. Things don't always happen the way you think they will. Keatyn of all people should know that.
OMG!! SO MY PERFECT MOON BOY BOOK!!
Let me just start by saying I think this was my favorite KC book yet!! I so wished it was a full length book and just not a novella because I simply DEVOURED IT!!! OMGAWD sooo loved it!!! I did not read any of the teasers going in so I could read it fresh with no what hints at was in store! Right from the first chapter I was jumping for joy because there is an expected visitor on the plane going with her and Peyton to St Croix that I never saw coming!! I was on cloud nine reading this book!!! My heart just melted over and over again and I was like yah!! Finally!!! It was my perfect moon boy book and did not want it to end!! Jillian did an amazing job as usual and I am dying to read the rest of the series. As usual we are left with a little bit of uncertainty that wants us wanting more. But for me, I am very excited and satisfied with how Adore Me turned out.
By far my favorite line is simply. "What you feel is my heart beating for you. Always. Only. Ever. For you."
How does that not turn you into a big pile of mush!!!
I love this series so far and loved this book
I love this series so far and loved this book. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I feel like I was suckered into buying it. It's not a book; it's more like just a few chapters. I read it in about an hour or so and feel really ripped off. Give us a full book or market it as a novella.

    A Page Turner!!
Kept me very interested. Perhaps could be "just the kind of book" I like? But I truly enjoyed this book. Not a cozy mystery like I usually read but still a mystery!! Maybe I was ready for something else but it was hard to not just sit and listen (when I didn't have time)
I can't really tell you anything about this book without giving away something but I can say the narrator did a really bang up job and that certainly helps make a more enjoyable read and I thought the book was written well.... She uses the verbiage "I say", instead of "I said" and somehow that seemed okay, even though she used it quite a bit, not overly and it seemed to work.
I'd give this one a try!! I'm looking for another just like it but this author has ONLY this 1 book out that I was able to find. Although, I did find another 3 book series by Jessica Brody, the 1st called, "Unremembered" that I'm going to try... sounds kinda good! (I love it when others mention good books they've read that are similar to a good book they've read)
Okay, that's it!! I liked this book quite well and would recommend it to you! Enjoy!!
    SO EXCITING - MIND BENDING
    Any additional comments?
Man....oh man....oh man..... This was such a great book. It messed with my head and made me crazy, in all the right ways :).
Chloe fell asleep in school one day and when she wakes up six months has gone by. She has the boyfriend she has always dreamed of having, she all of the sudden is at the top of her class, has new friends. She seems to have it all. There is something missing though. All of the sudden she isn't best friends with her life long friend Maggie, and she is having weird lapses in memory.
Chloe spends time with her new (well new to her memory) boyfriend Blake, but doesn't feel like it's right. Everything seems to be off. Chloe keeps having dreams and glimpses of memories back and none of them seem to coincide with what is going on in her life.
Chloe is trying to maker her parents understand there is something more going on than just memories being gone. She's seeing a counselor, and making things up because she doesn't want everyone to think she has gone crazy.
She runs into Adam, the local bad boy, and when he touches Chloe, a memory comes to her. That is what starts Chloe's journey to find out what is going on.
I cannot imagine loosing my memories. I already don't' have a fantastic memory. I can look at pictures though and remember where we were, and even remember the feelings that went along with the day. Chloe couldn't even do that with anything involving the last six months.
She is determined to make up with Maggie, or at least find out what happened between them. There really is so much going on in this book. It is so fantastic.

    Very good read
Kept my interest and made me want to keep coming back to hear what happens next. The narrators have very likable and expressive qualities as well.
    another addictive dystopian!
Lindsay Cumming's debut novel is the next addictive YA dystopian. Although it started a little slow, it picks up and the pace and doesn't slow. Just as you think you have figured it out - you haven't. I can't wait for the next twist she has for us.
    Love this book
I absolutely love this book & am excited to start the second of the two-part series. I have never listened to a book where I felt so much a part of the story- I love both narrators!!
I hated for it to end, but thankfully there is another...
A dark and bloody terrifying dystopia...
Where does The Murder Complex rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    4 Stars
THE MURDER COMPLEX was bloodtastic read that I devoured. I was allured by the dark essence and the fast paced plot that kept me engaged and entertained until the very last page! It was a bloody world, full of twist and turns that satisfied.
But to keep it real, THE MURDER COMPLEX was a good book, but it had it's faults. There where many aspects that I enjoyed, but many that I didn't. One that I really enjoyed was the world-buildingthe backbone to THE MURDER COMPLEX. I liked that it added it's own touch of originality to the dystopian world, and that it delivered on that aspect of the book.
Another thing that I really loved was that it was bloody! I don't really know what that says about me...lol, ;) but I loved all the blood and murder, and the chase. It was thrilling to live through it all through the characters eyes, and see and feel what they felt. It was definitely a terrifying world that I would never want to live through!! I do give the author mad props for creating such a complex world that was dark and deadly, and awesomely thrilling!!
But there were a few things that drove me insane. Manly it was just one of the characters that I didn't like for numerous reasons. Zephyr was one of the main POV's and the love interest that drove me insane. First, his name annoyed the hell out of me!! I mean what kind of name is Zephyr??? That was the first strike against him. Then he said this repetitive word, Skitz's." What hell does Skitz's mean anyway?? I looked it up, and it's the meaning for Schizophrenia. WHAT??? What idiot would go around saying that all the time?? Then, when he meets Meadow, the other main POV, he starts acting like a little love sick puppy that would bend the earth for her. I mean he JUST met her and he was acting like that. Actually, I think he said that he might love her before he was even formally introduced to her. He was just a total turn off from the beginning, and then it just kept getting worse. Their was just too many reasons why I didn't see eye to eye with his character.
Another issue I had was the POV switch. I can usually put up with multiples POV's, but don't prefer them. And THE MURDER COMPLEX was no exception. I really only liked Meadow's POV.

    Title: Grade A Stupid
Subtitle: Book 1 of the Darcy Walker Series
    Author: A. J. Lape
    Narrator: Patricia Fructuoso
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 13 hrs and 42 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-05-14
    Publisher: A. J. Lape
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 36 votes
    Genres: Teens, Mysteries & Thrillers
    Publisher's Summary:
Darcyville...where stupidity is celebrated...with a deadly dose of sin.
Fifteen years ago, Darcy Walker's parents thought it was a good idea to give her a unique name: Darcy, meaning "dark walker". Whether that was a stroke of genius or stroke of stupid, they definitely nailed the irony. She lacks direction, her grades stink despite a high IQ, she's boringly average - although flirting admirers claim otherwise - and God help her, she's infatuated with a bad-boy.
A bad-boy that her hottie best friend, Dylan, wishes would get acquainted with his fist.
And, oh yeah, there's that tattoo that was a royally stupid idea.
With her life spiraling out of control, everything changes when she skips class and finds a dead body...in fact, it gets worse. It jump-starts Darcy's inner-verb, and her brain hardwired for action gets caught up in a situation she can't let go.
Set in the fictional Cincinnati town of Valley, Ohio, Darcy's story falls into a world of threats, violence, and gangland exploits chasing down every clue to finger the murderer. When a fellow misfit is fingered for the crime, Darcy goes from zero to 60 trying to clear his name - constructing aliases, breaking the law, everything that makes perfect sense to her but reeks of Grade A Stupid to everyone else.
Trouble is...will she live to see 16?
    Members Reviews:
    Pretty Good Beginning
A great first young adult novel by a talented writer who had written an extremely amusing and entertaining work. The protagonist is fifteen year old Darcy Walker, an underachiever with a measured IQ of 160 and a bad case of ADD. Darcy is sweet, likable and at times is quite courageous; at other times she is so passive that she can't manage to get a word out of her mouth.
I realize that behavioral consistency from a fifteen year old girl with ADD is a ridiculous concept but it does strain credulity for her to take on a street gang without taking a backward step, but be afraid to confront "mean girl" Ivy.
Too many of the book's characters are one dimensional and not particularly likable. The relationship between Darcy and Dreamboat Dylan is dysfunctional to the point that drug therapy and relationship counseling should be commenced immediately. The same is true for the aforementioned Ivy and her boyfriend Jagger Kane; and on again, off again couple noted for assaulting each other physically publicly.
Despite these problems my daughter and I both recommend this selection and this author. We look forward to the next installment in the life of Darcy Walker, though with more three dimensional, as well as more likable characters
    Perfect Voice For Darcy
What did you love best about Grade A Stupid?
This story will have you laughing from the beginning to the end. Darcy sure knows how to get herself into trouble. She is a 15 year old girl who has a mind that thinks different that other fifteen year olds. The words that come out of her mouth will make you laugh so hard that if you are around anyone they will want to know what is so funny. This story has everything from blossoming romance to murder mystery. What else do you need in a story? There are so many characters in this story that you will not figure out the mystery until the very end. Just when you think, all the mysteries are solved, we have more at the end so now onto the next book in this series to find out what else Darcy will get into.

    Who is the audience?
Perhaps the target audience is 5th graders, and if so, the book is fine. If not, then this is the worst book I have ever suffered through. The story line, the (non)sequence of events, the vocabulary, the similes.....awful
    Annoying
Annoyed by the narrator due to her male voice impersonation. Boring and no personality for character.
The main character constantly chews the inside of her cheek or bites her lips for blood and the amount of bile mentioned is a bit much.
    Gave up
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
    A better book
Has See Jane Run turned you off from other books in this genre?
    No
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
    Read a better book
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from See Jane Run?
    All of it
    Any additional comments?
Very contrived and implausible. I just didn't like it. Finally gave up maybe half way because I realized I just didn't care what happened to Jane.

    The ending made it.
I'm not going to spoil anything, but listening to this audiobook I almost gave up. I thought Sawyers responses to the stalking and the letters were awful and after several points where I was screaming "TELL SOMEONE" I gave up and stopped listening. I'm glad I decided to listen to it again. The ending was a real twist and reminded me of the movie single white female.
Overall 8/10 would recommend to a (patient) friend.
    Great Mystery!
This was a pretty good book for how short it was! Since it was shorter it was a tad rushed story wise but other than that I am so happy used a credit on it. Also, I will totally check out the authors other books!
    Amazing

Where does File Under: 13 Suspicious Incidents rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
This is one of the best family audiobooks we've listened to.
What was one of the most memorable moments of File Under: 13 Suspicious Incidents?
The author does a great job depicting the setting, Stain'd by the Sea, a miserable seaside town populated by absurd people and ridiculous businesses ( including a board store and a French horn factory). The humor throughout the book kept us laughing.
Did the narrators do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Not really. Some of the narrators are great (Ira Glass and Stephin Merritt) while others are just okay.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
If you think you're miserable now, wait until you visit Stain'd by the Sea!
    Any additional comments?
The mysteries are presented and you have to wait until the end of the book to hear each solution. My kids (ages 14 and 10) had a great time trying to solve them. This was a terrific choice for our road trip. It's fun for both children and adults.
