What made the experience of listening to Blood and Silk the most enjoyable?

The most enjoyable about it is the way of Jeffery's writing. His writing style can very easily conjure up a wonderful beautiful atmosphere and environment of the world of Alterra right into our imaginations. As a result it makes the situations and characters strongly engaging that at times it does make it hard to put the book down.

All and all this was a wonderful discovery and I do hope that more people will take a look at this book. I strongly recommend it.

Electric tension full of suspense

Would you listen to The Spirit: Awakening again? Why?

This is an enjoyable fantasy world full of a variety of magical creatures. There are elves, dwarves, ogres, talking animals. The passages are highly descriptive, which helped me to get a good picture of Adele's world . There is plenty of action, especially with princess Adele is being tested to see if she really cares for her kingdom and is willing to fright for it. I liked the inner wisdom voice narration of Adele " It was as if she had a 6th sense an inner awareness of the feelings of others."

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harper the Wolf/Dog is my favorite character because he is a reflection of Adele other self. and he can change shapes. There is a bond between them that going deeper than surface appearances.

Which character as performed by Matt Thurston was your favorite?

Adele is my favorite because she has a lot of spunk and courage. And I liked the way she grew from a young girl of eleven, into her true strong self as the story progressed.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was completely drawn into the story, caught up in a whirl wind of emotions from fear to amazement, laughing one minute and then crying the next. Wonderful thrilling!!!!

Any additional comments?

The story moved fast with a quick tempo, I didn't want it to end. Hope there will be a sequel.

If I sum up The Spirit: Awakening in three words, it will be "Incredible thrilling fantasy" and I enjoyed the epic fantasy ride through this book.

Comparing to the other Matt Thurston's performances, I would definitely tell that The Spirit: Awakening - is an excellent release and he narrated it superbly.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, definitely I couldn't put it down. I completed listening to it in one sitting.

The thrills, fantasies, suspense - all of them are blended perfectly with its character development and comprehensive writing. It's a great fantasy ride which was fun to listen. I enjoyed it and I would love to recommend The Spirit: Awakening.

I would most definetly recommend this audiobook to not just friends but to family members as well. The reason is because the fantasy genre is difficult to enjoy if not written well. This audiobook captivated me with how descriptive the author words are.

Still I tremble!

There are not enough words to praise Mr. Magnarella's work. I have never, in the thousands of books read in my lifetime, come across such a masterful retelling of John Bunyan's PILGRIM'S PROGRESS. Pure genius!

Following Iliff on his journey of his own spiritual enlightenment was uplifting and awakening for me.

I will share this series with as many people as I can, and recommend it widely. Thank you, Brad Magnarella! And thanks to your editors and proofreaders for excellence in their work.

What was this journey to the Sun? What did it mean? Who was the old man Salvatore? If the journey to the Sun was so impossible yet fulfilling, how and why did he ever come back to the prison? And, for that matter, what was the prison? So many questions. Questions that drove my curiosity to continue reading and follow Illif's quest. I will admit I feared reading the final chapters. Two concerns came to mind - the first was what if the author punted and I would never get answers to these questions, the second was worse yet, what if the answers were there but were not worth the journey? Well, they answers are there and to me I was very satisfied when I finished the final pages.

The Prinsoner and the Sun is a unique series with wonderfully unique and complex characters.

A HUNGERING OF WOLVES MAKES YOU HUNGER FOR MORE GONJI!

This fifth and final (thus far) volume in this well-crafted, wonderfully written and powerfully told story brings it all home in a perfect crescendo of swords, sorcery, human conflict, a very nasty family of werewolves, and page-turning action. Rypel goes out on top with this grand finale that will grab you by the throat like a raging wolfman and not let you go until you've reached the very last word. If you want to know how to write epic heroic fantasy, if you want to see how vivid characterizations, human drama, superbly choreographed scenes of battle, clever plotting, and cracking dialogue can bring literary depth to the genre of sword and sorcery . . . if you want to know how it's done -- A HUNGERING OF WOLVES is a shining example, and so is the entire 5-volume saga of this unique and memorable character named Gonji: warrior, poet, artist, a wandering soul in search of his heritage and his destiny. My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

The cover is breath-taking. I love it!! It feels old world, the dress is stunning and overall it feels magical :)

I really love this series. This books focus is more on Mexia, but all of the characters that I loved from book 1 are here with the exception of Princess Talamayas betroved. Mexia is strong and fierce and wont back down or be held against her own will. I love how smart and resourceful she is to get out of all the trouble that finds her. There are even a few new characters. Though I think I would slapped Mexias prince quite a few times throughout the story. He redeems himself in the end at least in my eyes :)

My son loved all the adventure and our favorite gruff dwarf. We both loved that it was the same fabulous narrator :) She really brings all of the characters to life for us. Of course, it all ended way to quickly, and book 3 isnt out yet. I do hope we dont have to wait long to see what happens next to the group.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves strong female characters who help any they meet especially if you love Terry Spear already :)

A great quest book

Would you consider the audio edition of The Magic of Inherian to be better than the print version?

Yes. I really liked the narrator.

What other book might you compare The Magic of Inherian to and why?

The Scepter of Salvation is the first book.

What about Elizabeth Phillipss performance did you like?

I loved how she changed voices with the different characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

My favorite part was the fog in the swamp. The way it was described, I felt like I was there.

Any additional comments?

The trio is on another quest and this time its to enroll Mexia in a wizard academy. The only thing is girls are not allowed. They have to conquer a few quests before the head wizard will even consider it.

I really like quest stories and this one doesnt disappoint. Mexia, Princess Talamya, Kersta, and the grouchy dwarf head out to conquer evil.

Mexia not only uses her magic but also uses other resources to accomplish her goal while possible love interests try to interfere. Im not quite sure I liked Derek as the love interest. His tactics for keeping Mexia safe are motivated but controversial.

I recommend this story if you like quests lead by strong and smart women.

A roller-coaster ride that defies classification.

Is it sci-fi? Yes. Is it fantasy? Yes Is it fun and difficult to put down. Yes and yes again. And is it well told with beautifully drawn characters? Yes it is. An unusual and totally engrossing story told with panache and skill. It deserves to be a huge success.

Builds on and extends the first title in the series

This is good solid work. I'm astounded Ware hasn't written anything before this series; the books are just that good.

I felt like I was in the hands of old friends like Roger Zelazny, Steven Brust, Melissa Scott or Diana Wynn Jones, but in no sense is this derivative. It has a fresh voice and original ideas that hold their own held up to those greats.

Eagerly awaiting the next in the series.

Ecko Burning expands the world Danie Ware built in Ecko Rising.

Iâll admit that when I first read Ecko Rising, the first in a series of science fiction/fantasy books by Danie Ware, I was a little confused. Was it science fiction? Was it fantasy? It turns out that the story Ware is weaving is both. Taking place in a future dystopian version of our world, as well as a world straight out of something similar to that in A Song of Ice and Fire, Ecko Rising and its sequel, Ecko Burning, are a perfect mash-up of the two genres.

My review of Ecko Rising is a positive one. I really liked that book. However, I feel like the second book in the series, Ecko Burning, even more. Both books tell us about a strange little man named Ecko, a once-human who seems to have been modified to the gills with computer technology, so much so, that he doesnât remember his normal human life. He comes from a dystopian London, but somehow winds up getting trapped in a fantasy world full of beasts like minotaurs. In Ecko Burning, though, Ecko has completely shut down again, attempting to convince himself that this fantasy world is just something someone named Eliza has constructed like a video game for him. So he rebels and refuses to play.
