This book was in-frickin-credible! Hot, suspenseful, erotic, hilarious, you name it, this book had it all in spades. Already of fan of CD Reiss, SPIN took things to another level for me. I am chomping at the bit to dig into book two--RUIN! I give this one a well deserved 5-stars across the board. Fantastic!

I loved this book and the audio was perfection. It brought new dimension to an already gripping story. Fantastic!!!!

Her narration was obnoxious so much so that I would get annoyed and zone out and realized I'd missed sections at a time. The story line was weak and expected. I didn't even finish the book. It is a classic bodice ripping romance story but with a rough mobster instead. I'm glad I got it on sale.

A barely okay story. Decent Narration.

Well this was just an okay story. It was entertaining in some parts and some parts were just not.

The chemistry between Theresa and Antonio seemed to be forced. The romance seemed forced. These two main characters didn't know a thing about each other except they liked having sex together. That about sums it up to be honest.

This is my first mafia book and probably my last.

The story line and plot was just meh.. Nothing exciting or fantastic, not a page turner. To be honest I was glad when it was over.

As for the narration. It was pretty decent. Mindy Kennedy did try to give everyone their own voice, She read with some emotion and she does have a nice reading voice. So I would listen to her again.

I got this as a free read with my KU subscription and the audible was 1.99. It's a good thing I didn't pay any more than that.

Meh

It had its moments but the story and characters seem underdeveloped. Not a lot of depth to the story and I just didn't find the characters all that interesting.

Feels like a debut novel

I downloaded this because I was going to Paris and thought it would be fun to read while I was in France. I have to say that there are moments in the story and the writing that are lovely - well written and beautifully crafted but the majority of the story is forced and tacked on. I had expected something more by the title and it didn't deliver.

Exactly what I was hoping it was!

I have missed these characters and I hope Mrs. James writes the other 2 books from Christians perspective as well!

Did you ever wonder what Elliot's reaction was when Christian said he had to go get Anna from a bar?

Did you ever wonder what was going through Christians mind when the belt incident happened? This book gives a whole hour of what was Christian thinking after Anna dropped that bomb shell.

If you loved the trilogy this book is for you, if you didn't like the trilogy this book won't change your mind so quit writing bad reviews.

It was great to find out all the things that went on in the story when Anna could not hear or wasn't around. Yes it is the same story but it had a totally different feel to it. When you read the original books you have questions. Why did he know so much about her? To Anna he just showed up out of the blue but from Christian's POV you find out what was really going on. You get to hear what got said between him and Mrs. Robbinson, what was said on the other end of phone conversations. All the things that drove Anna (and the reader) crazy because she wanted to know what was going on, in this book you get to find out. Plus, without all of Anna's inner thoughts you get to hear Christian's inner thoughts and how he didn't always understand what was going on with Anna. You find out that neither one of them was communicating what they felt to each other. I would like to see the other 2 books done in his POV. I really enjoyed it. I don't understand why so many are upset and shocked that it is the same story. There was no secret about that. Heck that's why it says 50 Shades of Grey as told by Christian. I also loved the narrator for this book. He did a great job.

I was leery about purchasing this book. I did not want it to be a re-print of the fifty shades series. It was the original story but so much more than that! I hope there is going to be another POV book for books 2 and 3.

This book ends where book 2 begins however it shows is Christian's struggle with the break up.

I am not a reader of romance, even clean romance, but I like mysteries. I picked up the first book because of the mystery and wanted to see how it ended. The author created believable characters, and the struggle between the traditional Amish thinkers and the more "progressive" among the Amish of the story was thought provoking. There was, however, far too much time spent on the "mushy" romance between the main character and the men pursuing her. Also annoying was the amount of space spent on describing food preparation and other Amish customs, not because they are bad, but because they are just too much. The story is obscured by too much description. Overall I did enjoy the book.

Great book, make sure you read all three in the series!

This book, book 2 of the series's, was interesting from the beginning to the end. I recommend reading the series in order, definitely a good read & great find!

This is another well written, must read by Linda Byler.....she is a great author if you like Amish fiction. She created believable characters, the struggles between traditional Amish thinking and the more progressive among them made this book more thought provoking. There was quite a lot of romance in the story between the main character and the men showing her interest. There was a lot of content about the Amish customs, so that one could really feel like they know what all aspects of living Amish would be.

I enjoyed the book immensely and would recommend it, if you enjoy Amish Fiction.

A good clean read which is hard to find these days. It reminded me of home the south .It is nice long read with a complete story not a hack job

Good story

A little boring at first I didn't get into the book until half way through. Too much detail to things that didn't matter to the story.

Great not so scary mystery!

I loved the story and I feel like the two main characters are especially rich with detail. But my favorite part about this was that it was based locally to me, and the research was very accurate, and the narrator. She is amazing! Great southern drawl.

I'm a sucker for southern everything, but this one just brings it all in -- you get the history and the modern well-to-do's and that one character that you wish you had the chutzpah to be now and again

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

The narrator had the uncanny ability to capture the soul of each and every one of the characters just as I would have envisioned and then some. Her style was authentic and sassy with all the right amounts.

I loved it. This was my first Mary Kay Andrews book. I've since listened to all that were available. Can't wait for what's next!

So, this just goes on and on and theres really no story at all. Its all about David, who took off to Hong Kong 18 months ago, after the death of his mother. He found out his father had been cheating on his sick mother and now hates him. And he promised his mother, before she died, that he wouldnt tell his GROWN brother and sister about their dad.

There was soooo much drama over that secret. When he finally told Vivi youd have thought hed just told her that his father was a murderer.

Worse still, was Vivi being so in love with David, since she was 13, but shes getting all kinds of sexual tingles from Franco and David has his girlfriend there, so he doesnt have to do without sex. Not a very good hero and heroine as far as Im concerned.

THAT was enough for me. I just cant read about other men and women in the MCs lives. Even though this was a free read and free listen I would have to pass on anymore from this author. I did read Accidentally Hers by Jamie Beck, which I gave only 3 stars to, so I thought Id give her another chance. Yeah, that didnt work. Too much angst and way too much drama, but the OW and OM turned me right off.

There was no sex by the time I quit reading, not even a thought of desire, lust, wanting, nothing, but I know therell be sex somewhere in this book.

The F-bomb was used 10 times.

As to the narration: Kate Rudd is a wonderful narrator. She reads with emotions and does the males voices like they should be done. But, the book just wasnt worth listening to.

Cute and entertaining

I liked the characters, Vivi reminded me of myself. Art, teaching, spunky, different hair, positive attitude. It was well read by the narrator. The plot line was successful. I could somewhat guess what would happen at the end, but the whole story unfolded well. I soon found myself wanting to know more about what would happen next! It wasn't drawn out, what a great length. The ending is believable!

Lighthearted & fast moving romance that kept my interest all the way through! Highly recommend it!

WHAT A JOURNEY, WHAT A LOVE STORY & WHAT AN AUTHOR

The Pubisher's Summary captures the premise of this story.. however it was the words, the chapters and the star-crossed characters that captivated me as Allison and Cedric instantly fell for each other at first sight. Furtive glances were made and a deep connection was felt - but loving words were never shared because the circumstances and timing were all wrong as Cedric had a girlfriend as well as secrets - secrets that could, and would eventually, devastate Allison and break hers, and Cedric's, hearts.

However, first there was a slow climb as they overcame misunderstandings, uncertainties, impossible odds and Cedric's constant guilty conscience because he was naively keeping back a very shocking and heartbreaking story from Allison in order to taste a little bit of Heaven before the truth would come out. And Cedric knew he was on borrowed time - because the truth was catching up.. and it was about to rock and change Allison's world.. as ghosts, painful memories and shocking revelations from Cedric's past would destroy hearts, futures, possibilities and beautiful dreams.

It was a very enjoyable slow to develop dual POV love story set amidst uncertain and tempestuous seas with likeable characters who finally worked through it all and got their HEA together. There were some touching sentiments, romance, passion, sex, a shocking secret, heartbreak, some unexpected new people joined the storyline and a sweet Epilogue. Good narration did what the Author couldn't do - they gave them voices and brought them, and all the scenes, to life.

Worth a credit? YES absolutely - I've had a very lazy Sunday listening to this book and I haven't regretted a single second of it.

So Touching

This would get. Full 5 and more but I just had a hard time getting past the idea that Cedric wasn't projecting feelings, including guilt when he first saw Allison. Loved the characters, sweet, loving, loyal and forgiving. Very happy with ending and I also like stories without cheating- if there is actual cheating the romance is often taken away. Not so in this story. The narrators were great. I will look for books they have done. Get this book, great story , not the usual. Plot

Didn't see that coming

I though Allison was a very lovable character. She was so hardworking and I loved how passionate she was about her career field. I could see why Cedric and all of his family loved her. Cedric on the other hand, he handled the situation poorly.

A "HELL YES" FOR WOMEN!

"SOARING" started off really dire for me, mainly because the female lead, American heiress Amelia Hathaway, found herself in the worst case scenario for any woman. It was absolutely tragic! Right away readers are made aware of her D-bag husband, Conrad, who while cheating on Amelia, stole her children's affection, and moved them clear across the country with his new wife. OMG!!! My heart sank at her initial conundrum, HOWEVER, I KNEWI JUST KNEW that as low as the lows were in this novel, that Kristen Ashley was going to deliver an incredible high that would blow the sad parts clear away!--And she did! This was another masterpiece in the Magdalene series.and, that was because of the beautiful love affair that built slowly, but surely between Mickey Donavan and Amelia "Amy" Hathaway.

I loved that both leads were in their late 40's and were still hot! I loved that they were both mature characters. No stupid, annoying petulant behaviors on behalf of either lead. Their struggles were believable because they were real-life problems and real-life hang-ups that needed to be worked through. So, when Mickey and Amelia solve these hurdles that spring up in their relationship.OMG, you will feel like you're are soaring in the clouds along with the leads because IT'S THAT FREAKEN AMAZING! Let me add that the love scenes were ON FIRE! Oh that Mickey Donavanhe sure had a way in the bedroom with Ameliahot-hot-hot!!!

This whole story was amazing, and I"m grateful for K.A.'s rambling, detailed style of writing. It's so soothing and fulfilling. While, the story may have started really sad for Amelia, it developed into such a FANTASTIC, culminating end.

Happy I Used A Credit

1. Some people complained about Josie speech. If you like the Harlequin old english type books kind of speech then this will not irritate you. She is very proper and speaks old english so yes there are some "thus" and "indeed", but not enough to irritate. 2. The narrator to me was fine. I could tell the difference between the characters and no ones voice was just too bad. 3. The story itself was pretty good, not too predictable, not too smutty but gives you just enough. 4. There were some bad guys but not any real violence. 5. The alpha male wasn't too overbearing which is good to me because I can only take so much of that. 6. The main female character while she has her submissive old fashion ways she is still strong and frequently speaks up which I appreciated. It seemed more real that way where some of these book makes the woman so week that well you start wishing it to be over...quickly.

This book is 23 hours long and I will admit that I finished it in 2 days which means that I lost a lot of sleep. But it was well worth the credit. If you liked "Breathe" by Ashley then this book may be what you are looking for.

KRISTEN ASHLEY AT HER BEST!

Here's the deal, Kristen Ashley has kind of ruined me for other authors because of the incredibly detailed and beautiful love stories she creates! And, let me say, THE WILL, the first of the Magdalene series was a masterpiece!

You have this incredible build up and chemistry between Jake and Josie. Both of their backgrounds were so interesting, and you wouldn't think that a high class, fashion-savvy babe like Josie could fall in step with Jake, a man who lives in a small town, owns a boxing gym (and another business that might be perceived as indecent), has a string of troublesome ex's and 3 kids, BUT THEY WERE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER. K.A. builds an incredibly beautiful love story showing just how perfect they were for each other. In fact, this will be one of my K.A. favorites.

I loved how Jake and Josie fell in love. Regarding Josie, though, I had to get used to her extremely formal way of expressing herself. Most of the time she sounded like a person with high functioning autism, or a pedantic, university professor. However, if her speech wasn't a problem for all of the other characters who received and loved her, it wasn't a problem for me....LOL

The way Josie bonded with Jake's kids was so tender and melted my heart like butter.
