    Well Read
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series with Kara Kovacich Stewart's narration, and this final book was no exception. However, the story itself was not as well-written as the previous three. I still enjoyed the story and was satisfied with its ending, none-the-less. If you've read the rest of the series, do not miss out on its conclusion.
    Great Performance
I listen to a lot of audio books. All I have to say is Kara is a fantastic actor. A book I normally wouldn't read, I now enjoy thoroughly! Kara brings the story to life.
So love this series. What a dramatic book
This audio was well done and was easy to follow. I read the other books in this series and wasn't able to get to read this one. I was so excited to get the audio! I highly recommend this book and series to anyone.
    a satisfying conclusion
    Any additional comments?
The first hour of this book should have been cut. It was soooooooooo slow. Granted, I had a pretty big gap between reading books 3 & 4... but had I not committed to reviewing this book I would have never gotten past the first chapter. The book begins with a "war game." I needed something to pull me back into the story, and I simply could not have cared less about the strengths and weaknesses of their army.
At some point, however, the story did pick up. There were some great lines from that even made me pause the audio to think. I would have liked to have spent more time with some of the Isen and gotten to know the other vagabonds more closely (in part because Kara's never been my favorite), but, in the end, the story felt complete and I don't regret taking the time to finish this saga.
The narration continued to be good. It felt like there was less differentiation between some of the non-accented main male characters this time around (there's a lot of characters!) -- but overall the narration made this an easy listen.
    Awesome
This, the last few grains of sand in the hour glass of time for Kara and Braeden, and the lands they love as the war comes to a end, but will they win and get more time or lose and everyone runs out of time? Kara will do anything to win and give her land the time to heal and that scares Braeden to death, because despite his feelings it is not a luxury he can afford for her.

With enemies on all sides, the Doctor teams up with his old friend Brigadier Bambera and the forces of UNIT in a battle for the future of the whole world.
    Directed By: Ken Bentley.

    Bamberra Returns
This story features the return of Brigadier Bamberra and also introduces the alien species know as the Numlocks. The Numlocks are a great species for audio with a very distinct way of speaking and are realized by John Banks. Angela Bruce is good as Brigadier Bamberra, sounding pretty much the same as she did when she played the role on television.
In some way, this release is a tale of two halves. The first two episodes seemed to be a bit padded and the setting of the Doctor looking for an on-campus eco-terrorist was a little bland. To be honest, I think this would have worked better as a three party. However, the second half is extremely fun with some great comedic moments, as well as some clever sci fi twists. Overall, another fairly solid McCoy lost story.

    Critic Reviews:
"Dark, passionate, tense, with a female hero anyone could relate to - I was utterly fascinated! This is no pretty, flowery tale, but one of vastly different people struggling to survive when a hostile government comes to power." (New York Times best-selling author Tamora Pierce)
"This is a book very distinct from everything that came before; what it has in common though is a narrative that pulls no punches, and characters that are beautifully, brokenly, repellently, cleverly human." (Sci-Fi and Fantasy Reviews)
"I had never thought it was possible to find a greater character than the Emperor Jorg Ancrath. I had never even slightly considered that there might be a fantasy world out there toppling that of he Final Empire, and most definitely, I had never thought that I could love a book more than The Night Angel. But here we are." (BookNest)
"Any other author is going to have to smack the ball way, way out of the park to top this read." (Parmenion Books)
    Members Reviews:
    Amazing!
I love it, the narrator was fantastic and the story intense. I am so glad that the main character, a small girl, was allowed and even encouraged to be angry.
    Missed at your own expense!
I loved this book. So different and refreshing. I could not stop listening. It's my favourite book of the last 5 years. I cannot wait for the next installment. It's meant to be a trilogy.
    Excellent story + skillful narration!
Would you listen to Red Sister again? Why?
Only to tide me over until the next installment- which I am very much excited for!
What did you like best about this story?
The character introductions and development were one of the many great things about this story. This is no ordinary girl nor convent and these are no ordinary nuns. Listening to them grow up and make decisions (good or bad) was great.
Duff also narrates this with talent. Many characters call for many voices, intonations and she performs perfectly.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The action scenes were expertly told- Lawrence can create slow-motion in your minds eye just as well as a movie screen.
    Any additional comments?
Definitely a joy to listen to, that will leave you twitching for the next installment.
    Gripping, violent and exctiing
Utterly surprised to find that I flipping loved this! I can't remember what made me buy it now but I'm glad I did.

    It's Not a Crime
Crime of the Century introduces Raine as a companion of the Seventh Doctor. The first scene she's in is absolutely brilliant safe cracking scene which leads into a solid first epiosde. Raine is an interesting character.
The rest of the story doesn't quite live up to this strong beginning and seems to struggle to have any focus at all. There's a war, and there's a sword to deliver to a prince, ,there's alien warrior bugs, and there's a weapon behind some robot guards in a safe. Indeed, the referenced "Crime of the Century" is a throw away line by Marcus Creevy about a stock market crash that is mentioned in episode one and explained towards the middle of episode four.
However, despite the helter skelter nature of the script, the story is quite enjoyable. The cast is very strong with great chemistry. The Metatraxi are a well-realized and fun alien species, helped by the Doctor's assistance with their translating devices. John Banks turns in a good performance. While the plot could have been more coherent, this story features enough quirky fun to make for an entertaining couple of hours.

American Demon Hunters-Washington DC J Thorn
Edgar lives in a fantastic world, kind of a recluse. He is always pissing everyone off and he has a habit of elevating his self worth...as if he is someone of tremendous importance. He has opened up a portal and bad things are happening. The Demon Hunters might be in over there heads. A short but very entertaining read!!
    Not a bad book.
This was one of the first books I tried from this writer. I did have some issues with the characters but not too many. The book was well enough that I went and got the other ones that were free as well. I think you may enjoy this if you are into Demon Hunter stuff. I liked this one the most out of the ones I tried.
    Great Read!!!!
It's an addicting story that continues after the first book. I'm a huge fan! The different authors give the storyline a different perspective. I can't wait to read the other ones! Once you start reading, you can't quit!!!!
You had me at 20-sided die...
I am a fan of J. Thorn and this series, American Demon Hunters. Now add John Monk and Dungeons & Dragons geeks. You had me at 20-sided die... Fun read with enough darkness to satisfy the horror nut inside me.
    Fun and fright
A little short but full of light-hearted darkness. Nicely written characters and scenarios with sufficient moments of horror. Going to read the rest.

    Amazing, Fast-paced Dark Fantasy Novel!
Minotaurs have enslaved the human race. They are stronger than humans, which allowed for them to easily overtake them. Now, they keep them living on large farms for their own personal gain, and control every aspect of their lives. The most despicable thing is that they cannot reproduce on their own because they are all males, so they must impregnate a human woman in order to continue their line. The women are too weak to survive birthing a minotaur, so the women do everything they can to not become pregnant with one. The minotaurs are allowed to do whatever they want to their slaves, so they often simply take women and rape them to have children. This has been the last straw for the human race as they constantly see their mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters being killed while giving birth to a minotaur, or dying from the abuse of the minotaur masters.
Ayla has already seen her mother killed by giving birth to a minotaur, and now that she knows that she faces the same fate, she has nothing left to live for. One time in her sleep, a woman speaks to her and says that she is her mother, and she is a goddess. Ayla trades her soul to this goddess in order to start her journey of breaking the curse of the Minotaur. She an a mixmatched group of humans, including her closest ally and fellow slave girl Deetra, must find a way to defeat the minotaurs themselves, with the help of the Goddess. Along the way, they must battle the unfaithful, the minotaurs, and the Furless or humans who are secretly working with Minotaurs.Â
This book was dark, this book was not a fairytale, and if this book was made into a movie it would be considered horror. But as a story itself, I read an amazing dark adventure story. I loved all the characters, especially Ayla. She was a strong survivor of unspeakable horrors, and she never faltered in her faith towards her Mother. This book has LGBT representation as well, something that is often forgotten in the medieval-esque adventure/dystopian stories.Â
The story's plot was fast paced, but not to the point where I felt as if I was missing something. Several plot twists occur but it felt quite linear, which I enjoy in a story. Even though it is the first book in a series, I felt satisfied after reading this story, not feeling as if I had to go and run to read the next book because so much had been left unfinished.Â
Overall, I loved this book. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an in depth fantasy story, but who isn't squeamish about a bit of extra goriness or violence.Â
No punches are pulled, making this an amazing, enthralling dark tale
The other ratings speak of people unable to get past the first chapter, of a villainous main character, and a tale painful to read. I did not find that to be the case. This is a tale of a woman who, knowing only pain and suffering, was given the chance to save others.

Epic Fantasy That Sadly Misses The Mark.
I received this book through Audio Book Boom in exchange for an honest review. The need to write a review was the only reason I finished this book. There is nothing terribly wrong about this book to make me hate it. There just wasnt anything compelling about it either. The beginning for me was the worst. I do concede that it gets better, but never enough so that I actually wanted to continue reading it. I like epic sized books set in a medieval type of time period with sword, sorcery and palace intrigue a la Game of Thrones and Codex Alera or any number of others. Although Game of Thrones, and Codex Alera are from two big name authors, I dont actually require that my epic fantasy comes from a big name author. If its good, its good. This book just wasn't that good.
As far as I'm concerned, Two Heads, Two Spikes had too many unnecessary and uninteresting story threads that the book could have done without. I guarantee if they were removed, not only would they not have been missed by anyone, but the story that remained would have become much more compelling and focused.
Two Heads, Two Spikes: The Pearl Of Wisdom Saga, Book 1, just didnt do it for me. It was a struggle to get through and I dont have any intention of reading book two. I know Im in the minority on this one compared to the reviews on Amazon, but, for what its worth, I stand by my opinion.
    Interesting, busy, well narrated
I thought the story was a little hard to follow in the beginning, if you're not paying full attention you may get lost as I did. Once I figured out what the writer was doing it became much more interesting.
There are a lot of characters and a few with similar names so be careful not to mix them up. As far as name go, I thought the really bad guy names(I'd say it but I don't want to give anything away) was lacking in creativity as well as the name of their island. It rather reminded me of a Saturday morning cartoon character. Overall it was a very interesting book, with lots of twists and turns and a very high cliff to hang from at the end.
The narrator was excellent, very well spoken and clearly understood.

Absolutely LOVED this story. I am a huge fan of the author Chad Lutzke and this new story does not disappoint. I have not read any of the other books in this series but plan to soon. This series, if anything like this book, will be exceptional. The family of this series is instantly likable and the action is great. Do not hesitate to grab this book.
    Battle Creek, Michigan
This is a truly great addition to the Demon Hunter series! The series can be read in any order, but as a big Chad Lutzke fan I would recommend beginning with this one, you will be hooked. This story takes you into the lives of a family of demon hunters. The characters and storyline are believable and relatable in a way that I was just sucked into the story from the first chapter. If you are a horror fan this is a must read, you will enjoy it. Five Stars!
