American Demon Hunters Denver, Colorado J. Thorn
The Demon Hunters are in Denver, eating in a Mexican restaurant. A portal opens and all Hell breaks loose. This is a fast moving story about keepers and members of there group from the past. The fight to repel the demonic creatures continues!
Give this book a read!
I loved J. Thorn's novel so I decided to try the novellas in the series too. I had never heard of Jim Heskett before but I'm glad I know of him now. This book continued another great story in the American Demon Hunters mythos. I couldn't tell the book was written by somebody other than J. Thorn and the story was a perfect mix of dark fantasy with interesting characters. I will definitely check out more work by Jim Heskett.
I ain't afraid of no demon. Mostly.
American Demon Hunters - Denver, CO is a departure from the fare I'm used to from Jim Heskett. A huge departure, at least in tone: this is horror. Demons, silver ammunition, strange portals, odd characters, etc. This is not Micah Reed, but it is as good.
My only real complaint is that it's too short. It's not deficient in any way; the story is complete. But I want more of the demon hunting family unit, Hank, Corey, and Sonya. Enough of an introduction to whet the appetite, and a good enough story to build a following.
After reading this, I liken Mr. Heskett, the (co-)author, to being as sick and demented as Stephen King. Take from that what you will (but mostly intended as a compliment).
If you aren't adverse to horror, you'd be well served to read this.
Note: free advance copy for an honest review. Four stars because I'm not as big a fan of horror as I am of Micah Reed. And it's relatively short.
A great horror novella
** I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
'American Demon Hunters- Denver, Colorado' was definitely creative and full of descriptive scenes. A great horror novella. The characters were great and did their job well. I look forward to reading more of 'An American Demon Hunter' series. A great add to your tbr list.
A short collaborative effort from authors J. Thorn and Jim Heskett.
A short (about an hour), collaborative effort from authors J. Thorn and Jim Heskett. A significant departure from Heskettâs Micah Reed. Demons, strange portals, odd characters, etc. Pretty apparent what writing he contributed, that was the parts that were better written. Iâm not so impressed with author J.Thornâs writing, if I read anymore in this series it will be the novella based in Battle Creek, MI. âIâm voluntarily reviewing an Advance Reader Copy of this book.â
