Another Underworld short for the collection.

I am a huge fan of Larissa Ione and always look forward to her books coming out. Recently she has done a bunch of the 1001 Dark Nights short story collections. Which are good, but Im ready to have more full length books/series to add to the Demonica/Underworld collection. This one wasnt my favorite of the 1001 Dark Night books, but it hit all the right buttons for me to still enjoy it. I thought the gem elf was interesting, with her bleeding/crying gems. I am tempted to go back and relisten to all of this series books, there is so much that over time I have forgotten that Im sure I will love them all over again. Narrator was good, I know I have heard him do something else before.

I really liked gay books

I really liked gay books. And this book is better than other books I've read. First, this book is well written and very detailed of course so you will surely enjoy reading it. And second, the story is intriguing and will surely wants you read it the next coming book :)

The big, bad wolf bites the dust.

I don't start off liking this hero. In fact, he's normally the guy/hero I don't go for. He's too everything: too good-looking (thinks he's as handsome as Brad Pitt), too cocky (well, I might have liked that), and too judgmental (this I didn't like).

When our hero Reece first sees Teddy, he recognizes her as his fated mate, one he's been waiting for but didn't think he'd ever find. He follows his nose to Teddy, only to be stopped in his tracks by her appearance. Teddy is short, curvy and round, a little plump pixie, and our hero doesn't do short and chubby, not Mr. Hot Dude's type at all.

Teddy sees the disdain and shock on his face, and it hurts her feelings. She thought she was comfortable with her body, having come to love it and all the curves. She's had lovers who have enjoyed the bounty of it too, but seeing this look on her mate's face brings back some old insecurities.

While I grew to like Reece, as he soon realizes how sexy a little extra can be, I really liked Teddy from the start. I liked her spunk, her attitude, her figure, and even her fears, those nagging doubts that seem like rude guests you've sent packing, only to come back sometimes uninvited, no matter how many times you tell them to get lost. Teddy is so loveable, and I found myself saying, You tell him, Teddy! Show him what he's missing.

Don't give up on Reece; he gets better. He sees the error of his ways and is soon doing the pursuing, wolf-style. I even found myself cheering for him, wanting him to make it right and to show Teddy how much he wants her, desires her, and loves her, just the way she is.

A pretty good short story; would have been better as a book.

'His Teddy Bear' is about a shifter named Teddy, a bear of course, who meets her destined mate Reece, a shifter wolf. While his arrogance is a bit off-putting at first (he is handsome, and knows it; women love him, and he knows it; he likes women as beautiful as he himself is, and chubby doesn't fall into that category), he soon makes up for it in his realization that Teddy is beautiful inside and out. Teddy, who we are told is very comfortable with her curves but is hurt by Reeces' obvious dislike for her figure, is afraid that Reece only wants her because of the the pull of being his mate, and she runs from the relationship.

The problem I have with that premise is the contradiction of the facts. She is confident and comfortable with her size, but the entire plot is based on her not believing he can love her because of her size. Her 'chubbiness' is brought to the forefront over and over, until the point it gets a little irritating.

So glad to be back in the FUC world.

I love being back in the world of F.U.C. Jaxon is sent to contain an ostrich which is wreaking havoc on the suburbs. He is told that he is going on the orders of the father of the bird and that she has been in a cult. So Jax goes in and kidnaps her, knocks her out and puts her on a boat to take her back to her father. He thinks he is saving her from a cult, so he has his heart in the right place.

Mari is sure that she doesnt have a father. She also hasnt been in a cult. She was a former prisoner of Mastermind, the on-going villain of this series. She isnt the same since she left the compound where she was held prisoner. She has problems shifting since then, among other issues.

So this series is really cute. I love how there are so many unusual shifters. I mean, how do you not love a series where you pair and ostrich and a kangaroo shifter? Oh, when Mari gets scared, she lays an egg. How funny is that?

Fun book quote

Would I taste like chicken? Then it occurred to her what meal these people planned, which brought on an even more evil realization. Theyre going to shove their hand up my butt and fill me with stuffing. Squawk.

Narration

Abby Craden continues to really nail this series. I think she really brings out the humor of the story. I like her voices for all the characters. Her men and womens voices are great. There are a ton of sounds that are included in this story, like in the quote above, she did great with all of those. I cant imagine reading this series after have listened to her narrate it.

Squawk Feathers and Eggs. Silly, Steamy Fun.

The Silliest book in the series to date, and I could not be more pleased. The Steamy bits never dissapoint, and there is always just enough danger to keep things exciting, but at least once scene put the stupidest grin on my face trying to imagine it, and will be a favorite in my mind for a long time. Maybe not the best book in the series story wise, but probably the most entertaining, depending on what you are in the mood for. Never in the series has a character spent more time, or scenes in their animal shape, or to such comedic affect.

A quirky addition to the series

Not my favorite in the series but it opens up a new cast of characters. I hope that the rest of the Jones brothers get some page time.

Enjoyable

I took a chance and found it to be a great series and Holly does a great job narrating.

Loved it

I tried so hard not to drive and let stern because I was afraid I would drive in a ditch. This is a great listen and so far both books have been great. Starting the third one next.

Dysfunctional paranormals

this is a very snarky poke at every thing no one is safe, nothing is sacred.. there are multiple running gags that run through the story. I would like to give away some but that would spoil the surprise.

on another note Holly. Jackson did a superb job as the reader, story teller and narrator..

yes there are some explicitly inappropriate language then again it makes the story work.

So if you are easily offended listen to something else.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

so many laugh out loud moments. Robyn Peterman has a story telling style I really enjoy. The by play between the characters is lovely. The narration was superb.

The fun continues with our dysfunctional family Essie, Hank, Dwayne and Granny are Back!! Essie and Hank are mated, but are getting ready for their wedding. The story begins with all of them on vacation. A job opportunity gives the newlyweds a chance to be happy without undue sacrifices from either of them. Dwayne makes shopping for wedding dresses all about him, but you have got to love him. Junior comes into his own.

I love, this series and I am disappointed these characters are not in the next book of the series.

This was funny and cute and romantic like the first two books. I returned the 3rd book because it was so maudlin for this series... But again this one is a hoot!

Amazing story and nararation

I can't complain about anything. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and performance. Absolute perfection! Worth the read. Funny, sexy, serious, and sarcastic.

Writing and characters save a poor narrator

I enjoyed the story more than expected. Other reviews had me worried but I thought the plot was good and the characters were fun. I thought the narration was horrible. I liked the narrator from the first two books and I thought this narrator would have been better if sticking to similar voices. Chartered voices were either over the top stereotypes or bland efforts. For me the wiring carried the performance.

I suppose I cannot really speak to the quality of the story, as I was only able to stand about 10 minutes of the narration. It's perfectly reasonable for a story told from a different POV to have a different voice, but I hope to never encounter this voice again.

AN AMAZING, EXCITING SERIES...

This is an awesome series by one of my favorite authors. It's the first time I read a series about a particular affliction. But the books were so well-written that part of the story did not bother me. I highly recommend this terrific series and the follow-up book 'Lured to the Night'. I love Adele's complex storylines and love trying to guess what will happen next. It has everything a romance reader wants, plus more!!! I also highly recommend all the books and series by Adele.
