    Loved it.
A great book for young teens and anyone who likes wizards. I want to read more. I received this audio book for free at my request and voluntarily reviewed.
    Good!
I listened to this with my 14 year old and we both really enjoyed it. Great narration. Can't wait for book 2!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. The fact that I was gifted this book had no influence over my opinion of it.
A decent start of a new series
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I liked the premise of this story quite a lot, which is why I opted to pick it up. The author did a decent job of execution, though some of the adult's reactions weren't what I would consider realistic. It wasn't a huge detraction for me, just something I noticed. I still enjoyed the book. The narrator did a good job on the narration, though I noticed a slight echo throughout the whole book. Kind of that, recording in a bathroom sort of sound quality, though not that bad... Anyway, it's a fun book with a decent story and narrator. It's a little short to me for a credit, but certainly worth picking up on sale.
    Good Story
Good story, and good narration. This is another book where I wish the star system could be broken down a little better. I gave the story 4 stars, it's not that good, but it wasn't a 3 star either. Narration is good, not great, but good for the story.
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
    Bonus points for creativity...
I'm a bit torn on this book... it's very creative which I like, but it's taken so far that I have a hard time buying it. I enjoyed listening to it but I had to firmly tell myself "this is fiction, you don't have to believe that this is real or even probable." I had a tough time with the adults reactions, I don't know any adults who would react like that.
That said... it's fiction and it's fun and amusing to listen to.
I wasn't a fan of the character voices but they were consistent and distinct. The delivery suited the story and matched the tone nicely.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher in exchange for an honest review.

    SIMPLY AMAZING!!
This series is a winner! If you like the Divergent series then you will absolutely LOVE this series. So much suspense and excitement. The characters are very well developed. Set in Dystopia - this is a world in which you honestly can imagine existing. The plight for human freedom in this world is so powerful that you will actually be at the edge of your seat. I am eager to see how it ends in the last of the series. NEEDS TO BE MADE INTO A MOVIE SERIES!!
    Missing chapters = poor experience
Live the story so far. But since the kindle version of the book is missing several chapters there are holes in the story where I feel I am missing vital information regarding the progression of plot and character development. Please fix this so I can fully enjoy the book.
    Missing chapters
Love this series but book 2 is missing multiple chapters on the kindle version. Tried to return and download again but the same chapters were still missing. :(
I would give it 5 CONSTELLATIONS if I could!
This is a very intriguing continuation; it manages to avoid the usual weakness of the second volume of a trilogy.
One of the things I liked the best was the reality that folks in their 20's (or 50's or 60's, for that matter) do not make plans which stand the test of actual battle; the plan goes to heck when the shooting starts. Way too many books with miraculous escapes and heroes who survive unscathed no matter what the circumstances.
Characters continue to develop well, and some of the new characters are unforgettable.
Alternative low-impact living are explored, which is cool.
Looking forward to the next installment!
it was with great anticipation, and greater expectations that I
it was with great anticipation , and greater expectations that I , with bated breath that i waited for the release of the 2nd volume in the Seeds Trilogy.

THe Fruits of Impatience and Disobedience
    "Shoot First--Suffer Consequences Later"
Fox's introspective YA novel reveals the inner torment of a boy who acted rashly and regretted it for over a week. In the mid 1930's of rural NY state the minister's son, Ned, is almost 11 when he receives an early birthday gift from his indulgent uncle: an air rifle. However, his wise but stern father insists that Ned is too young to use it properly, so he stores it in the attic--until the boy is 14! Three years to wait...!
Well, what kid could resist temptation that long! It was totally unrealistic of his father and too naive to store it within easy reach of a normal kid. Willing to defy paternal decree and proving unusually disobedient Ned sneaks upstairs and removes the rifle. With no definite thought of actually Shooting it he takes it outside late one night and looks down the sights with illicit glee. Suddenly his eye catches the shadow of a movement and his finger instantly responds--as if with a will of its own. Guilt immediately sets in as Ned realizes that someone was watching the entire incident from the attic window and surely will rat him out. Will his accuser turn out to be his pious father, his invalid mother or the disliked but necessary housekeeper?
This psychological novel focuses less on action and plotting than the cruel results of that one hasty act, as it examines the consequences of developing a sense of morality. When he notices a mangy, feral cat, cared for his elderly neighbor, Ned is shocked to discover that the poor animal has only one eye (which makes hunting difficult), is deaf and seems to have a nervous tick. Did Ned's single fateful shot hit this innocent creature? Is he to blame for its pitiful condition? Convinced that his wanton act of disobedience is the direct cause of the cat's pitiful state Ned's conscience finally kicks in. He is tortured by the blatant, visible evidence of his guilt: direct disobedience to his father and the needless suffering of the cat. Wracked by guilt and fear of discovery he feels an obligation to help Mr. Scully care for the defective animal.
Should he stumble forward and confess his possible--probable--shameful role of inadvertent cruelty to animals? Or will he find himself under some terrible obligation to silence or placate his accuser who has yet to step forward in malicious triumph? The only positive after effect is his developing compassion toward both the ailing cat and his frail old neighbor. But young Ned learns a bitter lesson: that his actions can have far-reaching effects on others. Refusing to confess he unwittingly denies himself the healing grace of Forgiveness--stumbling along locked in the isolation of his soul.

    Europes Buffy!!!
Amazing story!! Loved the narrator and the refreshing retake of a classic story! I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys action fairytales!
Fantastic Twist on a Classic Fairytale
This is such a fantastic Twist on a well known Fairytale, I just love it. The storyline is so well written and yhe narration brings the characters to vividly life. Such an enjoyable story, I highly recommend this book.
Nice twist to the Cinderella story.
Evil stepmother, wicked stepsisters, handsome Duke, beautiful blond daughter/servant/slayer of the undead?!? Set around the time of WW1 the writer did a great job of incorporating the PTSD and Shell Shock of the men that came home after The Great War.
No frail sweet servant girl is THIS Cinderella (Eleanor = Ella) :)
    A new favourite.
I am certain that I don't speak eloquently enough to say how much I love this book! I have a new favourite author and audiobook performer! A great new twist on an old story. It is a cross between Jane Austin and Stephanie Myer. The characters are well developed and the story really kept my attention... I would sit in the car with it running just to hear more. I love Ella. Her inner monologue was a hoot. The reader nailed the characters and did a great job. At no point did her voice distract you from the story as many can when the change characters. Well worth the investment as an audio book.
    Took me in right away!
Great story. Loved the fact that it timing of the story was set right after WW I. Historical yet modern Cinderella story.
It would have been just perfect if there had been a different narrator. Some of the character voices were just obnoxious.

Another great addition to The Harker Trilogy!
Excellent storyline and characters! I was sucked in from the beginning! I loved the first book and this one does not disappoint! If you have not read the first one you should start there so you can understand all that is going on on this one.
There is suspense, action, drama, and some unexpected developments that leaves you wanting more!
The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life! The story is told in dual POV which is my favorite. It ends in a cliffhanger which is somewhat expected since this is the second installment of the Trilogy. I'm looking forward to book 3.

    Oh. My. Gosh!
The Harker screwed up big time is an understatement!
Audiobook - narration, Kristin James - Very good! She's a really a good story teller and manages a buncha-buncha unique characters.
Loved this. Hated this. So much happens in this installment of the trilogy and not all of it - heck, hardly any of it is good. Everything seems to be spiraling out of control and Jude and Edie can't seem too catch a break. Really good, even better than the first. Can't wait for book 3!
I received this audiobook free of charge from AudiobookBoom in exchange for an unbiased review.
    Worth your time and credit
    Any additional comments?
Really good story. Interesting, entertaining and enjoyable.
I need to go back and read the first book.
The story pulls you in from the start and doesn't let go. Love the world and story line the author has created. Plenty of action, drama, and suspense.
Edie a vampire hunter who is in love with a vampire. That's just the tip of the iceberg for this story, but I don't want to spoil the adventure for anyone.
Ends in a cliff hanger - but the ride getting there is worth your time.
My only complaint is that the book is to short.
Kristen James did a really good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Smooth even narration. Good character voices. She is also able to convey the emotions each character is feeling.

    A fantastic story!
This is a great story! Very well written, enjoyable, adventurous, clean! I was able to listen to this story with my daughter who is 10. It is a female Robin Hood type story that is so fun to listen to. The plot had many unexpected twist and turns with a ending that was so beautiful and worth waiting for!
My only negative would be that the book is not read with an accent that is fitting to the time and location.
The narrator does a nice job, has a pleasant voice, but it is sometimes hard to realize when she has switched from one main character to the other.
Loved The Characters! This is a great read, lots of noble and honorable characters!
    Great story!
I really enjoyed this story! I know on audible it says that it's a children's book (????), but it's a clean romance. It had parallels to what Christ did for us. The woman who read the story read it in such a way that it sounded like a children's story, but there was a lot of kissing and shooting of arrows (and description of killing) for it to be a book for the age that her voice seemed to imply. Don't get the wrong idea, it was a perfectly clean story, and not bad at all, just not suited for 7 year olds or something.
    Robin Hood Mark III
Would you ever listen to anything by Jody Hedlund again?
I think she should stick to books set in America, and not the Middle Ages, as she doesn't sem familar with the period, or its history law and culture.
What three words best describe Hayley Cresswells voice?
Not bad, but Narrating a very silly book.
Do you think A Daring Sacrifice needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No especially, if its going to be like this.
    Any additional comments?
I had concerns about this book before even picking it up. In a way, I think my response reflects what I thought of the last one. It had the grain of a good story and content- but sadly this was surrounded by a hard shell of silliness and dross. There were some important messages about redemptive love and overcoming selfishness and bitterness. The thing was even enjoyable in places, but once again there were too many negatives.
The heroine Julianna seemed rather too goody-goody, and her irrational prejudice against the nobility did nothing to endear her to me (her Uncle deposed her father, therefore all nobles are evil and corrupt). Admittedly, she did realise that her view was unreasonable in the end, but I think she could have taken a more sensible course of action a lot more quickly- and less pontificating at the start would have been helpful. It just made her seem annoying.
Still, I guess without her unwise choices there wouldnt be a story. Sir Colin was altogether more interesting, and a little more fun. The Romance- often mushy, and a little cheesy, but not entirely unappealing.
The modern phrases and Americanisms in the characters speech were hard to ignore- a perpetual annoyance at disparity with the setting.

    History Alive
A great way to view a portion of our nation's history from the viewpoint of a tween. This would make a great read aloud for any class studying American History! This glimpse of the Great Depression and a small portion of Alaska's history would be very eye opening to all of our young people from non rural backgrounds. Would love see a sequel to this story that includes more of these main characters and the wild life of Alaska. This book has splendid examples of arguments and reconciliations.

I loved the mix of history and fiction in this delightful story! Terpsichore is a main character to root for! Full of personality, plots, plans and enough pioneer spirit to inspire all of us to grow pumpkins! A delightful way to learn more about Alaska and the New Deal Program. Well done Ms. Estby Dagg!
    A Wonderful Story of Adventure
Sweet Home Alaska brings to life the story of a pioneer family who moves to Alaska in 1934 as part of an FDR program. Kids will cheer for the main character, 11-year-old Trip, who has a can-do attitude in the face of many challenges. Carole Estby Dagg captures the times and the place with amazing details that will be fascinating for readers of all ages. A great adventure story for elementary and middle schoolers!

Interesting historical piece. I learned a lot about early Alaska and the hardships endured.
Little House on the Prairie moves to Alaska
Summary: Terpsichore Johnsonâs father has been out of work for months, and thereâs barely enough food to feed her and her three younger siblings. When President Roosevelt announces a plan for families to get free farms in Palmer, Alaska, Mr. Johnson is ready to sign up. Terpsichoreâs mother is much less certain, but she agrees to try it for fifteen months, through two harvest seasons. Despite cold winds, outhouses, and having to live in a tent for a few months, Terpsichore loves Alaska. She starts a public library with her new friends, and sets her sights on growing a pumpkin big enough to win the grand prize at the fall fair.
