What a joy and an adventure!

I loved this book better than the first of the trilogy. First off, kudos to K. Orion Fray, for her execution of the characters. I really enjoyed hearing the voice of each character as the story played out.

Second, I love that Sahara Foley did not have to have big bloody scenes to express how difficult things had been for these different cultures. I know that other reviews have commented on the sex scenes being pornographic, but to me there is nothing more pornographic than a lot of needless slaughter.

I think this book is very poinent in today's atmosphere of segregation and mistrust between races. I know that the bones of this story was written way before our calender turned to the 2000's, but it couldn't have a more relevant message today in 2017. Thank you for another great adventure.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Revenge of Excalibur?

This audiobook give us a whole new adventure with a new set of characters, rather than a strict continuation of Arthur, Ruth, and Daisy's story. Through flashbacks into the main storyline, the author reveals what has happened to Arthur and Daisy over the course of a couple of decades, and now Arthur's grown daughter with Ruth- one that he doesn't even know exists

Loved it!

The story of Excalibur continues! This time Arthur isn't the main character in the story. His daughter Pamela is. Excalibur is so much more than just a sword! I don't wanna ruin the surprise though. This book doesn't take place on Earth like book 1. it takes place on a distant planet with several alien species. Excellent story by Sahara Foley and excellent narration by K Orion Fray!

Mixed feelings

When I purchased this book, I had purchased both the first and second at the same time. I had been a bit let down with the conclusion. I had became attached to the characters though and I really did want to listen to this book also.

If I overlook the conclusion of the first book and take this one on its own, I really enjoyed this book. There was romance and action.

Totally worth the read!

This whole trilogy is just FUN. If you are looking for the perfectly-written book where every detail is gone over with a ridiculous amount of description and back-story, with the plot that goes back in the world for generations, and think this is like Tolkien, this isn't for you. If you want a fun, cool story with great battle descriptions and characters you can enjoy, then this book won't disappoint you. This author tells stories, and they are exciting, fun, imaginative, and endearing. I got this series because I was traveling and just thought as a worst case, these could kill time. I found them not only killing the time, but sucking me in and I read the whole series within a matter of days because I didn't want to put them down. If you want a good story to delve into, GET THE TRILOGY. I typically lean towards Jordan, Sanderson, Preston & Child, ect... to give you an idea of what I typically read. These books were far from disappointing, and the world created is really a spectacular world. Most importantly, I was really happy he didn't create a sky world, and ground world where the two inevitably clash with the cliche higher means better thing and almost caste-like system. Instead he created a sky world.... period... and sent the reader into a flying world with beautiful battles and characters you can't help but love. I enjoyed the twist on angels and demons in these books as well, and it really added to the story.

Fantastic

Another incredible page-turner from the man himself! At first I was reluctant to read the skyborn series after immersing myself so deeply in the world of Dezrel, but Mr. Dalglish is such an awesome storyteller, I am surprised that I had any reluctance at all! Just like every other book he has written, this one completely amazed me, and kept me turning pages long into the night :)

i love david dalglish but i wasnt sure how much id like him writing in a world other than dezrel. well, he didnt disappoint me. this new world is just as great as the world of dezrel and he does just as great with character development. i enjoyed the book and cant wait for shadowborn to come out!

Good story, quite the twist at the end.

I was so eager to continue with the Seraphim series, and couldn't wait to get my hands on this book! The poor seraphim had to work so hard to fight everything coming at them (I won't spoil it!), and it was sad to see the sacrifice some made. I was thrown by the reveal of what happened way back when the islands were raised into the air, and the sacrifice to save them. Then I was thrown again by the shocking reveal by Johan! Cannot wait to read more...

A solid conclusion.

I enjoyed this final chapter of the story quite a bit, and it was interesting to see if from David's point of view. Starting out, we knew at least a little bit about the other three characters because they all went to school together, but David came in from the outside and none of the others really knew about him. So you get a lot of insights in this book and I enjoyed getting to know this character more.

Story wise, this final book packs quite a punch as well. I did not see a lot of these twists and turns coming and it kept me guessing until the end. The drama and emotions of the characters were believable and in general I just really loved the story.

I don't want to say too much more than that because I don't want to spoil anything for you because you really should check it out for yourself!

Exciting and Fun!

What did you love best about Keys and Needles?

I loved how the characters in Keys and Needles were relatable, interesting, and all had their own reasons for acting how they did. Each character had their own voice, and I found myself looking forward to when I would see certain characters again. The lore within the story was also really intriguing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourite character was the lead, Tania, because it was so easy for me to put myself in her shoes, and her thoughts were fun. She's sarcastic, spunky, stubborn, and intelligent, without being contrived or too over-the-top.

What about Ulka S. Mohantys performance did you like?

Mohanty's performance was fun, interesting, and very easy to listen to. She slightly alters her voice for different characters, but doesn't go overboard on voices, which really suites the dark mood of the book. She is very well-spoken and has a great voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Tania made me laugh out loud several times with her snarky comebacks and trains of thought.

Any additional comments?

The actual writing is very well done, and exciting to the point where I binged the whole book in a matter of a couple days. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next, and I still can't! Eagerly awaiting Book 2.

An enchanting cross-genre tale

I called this a cross-genre tale because it's part fantasy but also part Post-Apocalyptic and a little dystopian too. There were elements in this that people who enjoy any of those stories would enjoy. Sure, there were times that it was deeply fantasy related, but at that point, I was so invested in the book that it didn't bother me at all (I'm not a huge fantasy fan).

The pacing of this book was what really did it for me. Nickolaisen could have tried to pull this book into a much longer format, but it didn't need to be. All the details needed to read and understand the story were already here and it flowed really nicely.

Honestly, the main character was easily my favorite part of this book. She was feisty and a little reckless. It's fun to read a character that you're really not sure what she's going to do next.

A decent fantasy book...but...

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Going in, I had no idea this was a religious themed book, as I hadn't read/listened to the first book. It took me a bit to understand exactly what was going on, but the author did a good job of making this book stand alone enough and not leave me completely lost.

That being said, the religious overtones of this book were a bit much. I consider myself a christian, but not a "religious" person, so I tend to stay away from Kirk Cameron-esq stuff.

The narrator did a great job, though, in keeping me interested enough to finish the book.

A Solid Yarn

The story was good, if nothing new, with some decent fight scenes and characters.

Religious "pious" Christians, maybe.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment mostly. From the book's summary, it wasn't apparent that this book is so highly religious in content. Without any subtlety, it paints religious people as good and atheists as evil. No nuance whatsoever. And several parts were repeated again and again.

A wonderfully told tale in Christian Fantasy.

This is a beautifully written book with the Christian theme front and center. Think Chronicles of Narnia. The narration brings out the best in this book. It's a must read for those that like the genre. I received this audiobook for free and voluntarily reviewed.

Enjoyable read

I liked the characters and the evolution of their character as their roles were revealed in the book. I like fantasy adventures.

These books fit all audiences because of the depth of underlying issues.

This is a fantastic series. I am waiting for the next book.

Better written, engaging plot

I honestly felt that this was an improvement on the first book in the series. Brooke has become more skilled at moving the plot forward at a pace that keeps the reader engaged, and cut out a lot of the excessive dialog that made her first book so slow. There is still an unfortunate amount of "telling vs. showing" - long-winded recaps of character histories, or lengthy explanations about the characters' situation replace actually allowing the reader to experience the story organically.

The plot picks up where it left off - if you haven't read the previous stories you won't really understand what's going on at first, though you'll figure it out eventually. The Six are looking to go back to their calling and heal the Trueni, half-human, half-animal creatures. Jarah and Tegan's daughter, Anwyn, is a powerful crystal user, who's genetic code is the key to a new weapon, one that the Six's enemies and the Six themselves have not yet discovered. Anwyn must find a way to protect her family, herself and the world from destruction as she is pursued by the Raven in her new, horrible form, but she has many old and new allies to help her on the way.

If you're a fantasy lover, you'll appreciate this read.

A good fantasy read!

In âThe Six and Anwyn of Ialanaâ 13-year old Anwyn is in danger. The evil Astrobal has sent a powerful assassin to kill her. So it is up to the Six to protect her. And as if that was not enough, they have to stop Astrobal from getting a very powerful weapon that could destroy all that they know.

What I like about Kaitlyn Brooke is the way she describes the characters and sets up the scenes. For example in the very first chapter when Glahivar the assassin is transformed. I can picture the demon opening her eyes and not knowing what she is. And when Brooke describes the maggots falling off Astrobalâs body, it sent a shiver down my spine.
