    Narrator: Jerry Sciarrio
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 8 hrs and 27 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 07-13-16

Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Epic
    Publisher's Summary:
Thorik has caused the death of the legendary Mountain King, releasing a rift forward through time that will change history forever. With the king dead, the war to free the slaves from the Notarian rulers will never take place, preventing the Dovenar Kingdom from ever existing. Without the strength of the Dovenar Kingdom, the Altered Creatures will most likely become masters of the civilized species. Leading them, the demon Ergrauth will finally be able to eliminate all species that do not obey him.
Thorik had been warned by the E'rudites that his actions would cause such a historical change, which evolved into the destruction of civilization. Against Avanda's loving pleas, it is up to him to resolve this mistake even at the expense of his own life.

    Best one yet
This is the final book in Thorik Dain's series. I have to say that it may have been the best one yet. So much has happened in Plea Of Avanda that I cannot even begin to tell my favorite parts. All of the characters grow more in this book, especially Thorik, Avanda, and Brimmelle. I am actually proud of how changed Brimmelle is from the beginning book of the series.
There were many times during Plea of Avanda (as well as the entire series) where I have laughed out loud or gasped because of something that happened. I for one love when an author creates moments like this.
By the end of this final book there are a lot of questions answered. For instance, I now know why Gluic knows things she shouldn't know.
I completely recommend this series to anyone who likes reading fantasy or sci-fi books. The only thing I don't like is that I cannot read more about these fantastic characters until the next series begins. For now I will have to settle for rereading them. :)
A smashing finish to a remarkable series.
Plea of Avanda is the last book in the Altered Creatures Fantasy Adventure Series, and I found it the most enjoyable of all six because of Wedgeworthâs masterful job of tying up all the loose ends.
Wedgeworth answers all the questions I had about the leading characters and the reason Thorik Dain, the protagonist in the series, began his journey into history five books ago. The book is full of surprises, and the battle scenes are awesome. I believe Wedgeworth is one of the very best writers of action scenes in the writing business today. And, as usual, he made me laugh out loud at times.
Wedgeworth wrapped up the series brilliantly. He amazes me with his imagination and the way he keeps the storyline moving with dozens of strange characters moving in and out.
Thorik Dain, the protagonist in the series, is a likeable character, and is easy to relate to as he has to overcome many faults, similar to all of us in life, plus battle the evil that is out to destroy civilization. I like him because he is small in stature, but brave beyond words. His lack of size does not hinder him in his battle against evil in an entirely new world that includes altered beasts, demons, dragons, and the undead. He doesnât do it alone, as he has friends who can do things no human can including a very friendly giant who is my favorite.

    A man rides in
The Kings Justice is a fantasy novella of sorcerers, elemental forces, and good versus evil.
It begins with the enigmatic, cloaked figure who calls himself Black arriving at a small town settlement called Settlers Crossways. Hes driven by a burning purpose that draws him on, a need to ensure that a terrible war between elemental forces is not repeated. He can smell evil, and Settlers Crossways reeks of it. He gradually learns of the brutal murder of a small boy that has left the community stunned and reeling. What has this to do with his wider mission? Is someone or something attempting to conjure monstrous new elemental forces? What is the nature of The Kings Justice that the townsfolk have called for and how can Black deliver it?
This book is a rock hard diamond of compact storytelling. Not one word is superfluous, each syllable drives the story forward with a terrible urgency. In 119 pages its a masterclass in concentrated world-building. Donaldsons Kingdom of elemental wars, Sorcerers, Shapers and Shaped men focused on a small community visited by a terrible evil has complete narrative integrity. Black is a familiar genre figure, the driven, cloaked and armed loner as an agent of justice. But the difference here is that he is a shaped man, covered with glyphs and sigils that can summon the elemental magic he strives to keep in balance in his world.
The tales examination of wider themes of good and evil does not stop at cliche. They are powerful and transcendent. The evil here is not just a fuming Dark Lord, but crimes of the most appalling violence that unfortunately we are all to familiar with in our own world. Donaldson writes compellingly of the effect of these crimes on those most closely affected, such as a grieving father. The powers of goodness are described are not twee or completely overshadowed by the evil as in some current popular fantasy series, but compelling and redemptive. Donaldson starts by having a his hero describe a reductive worldview where the world and all its elemental forces are all there is,(substitute these forces for science and our world and youll get the idea), and then transcends it as Black and those around him experience much more.
This is narrated by the excellent Scott Brick. His reading has a contained, driven passion that completely suits the tale.
    The King's Justice
I expected more than mediocre from Stephen Donaldson, having read the book's "Thomas covenant trilogy"
    Loved it.
Storyline rivetting. Narrator perfect. Donaldson magic paints the pictures. Still a fan. :) Thank you.

I Still Can't Find The Magic
When I was younger I worked my way through the Thomas Covenant books. I was full of admiration for them but never truly enjoyed them as much as many other books. They never really fired my imagination and while impressive they were hard work for me.
I thought it might be interesting to use this opportunity to see what he was up to more recently. I'll confess I didn't get very far through this and as notes I was never a great Donaldson fan so maybe my opinion doesn't count for much here.
Unfortunately this just felt like a grind and Kevin Orton's narration is very steady which didn't help the dry text within.
So, not for me but maybe those more in tune with this author will find more interest in this one too.
    A great listen.
Narrator was great. A story that kept my attention. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Length: 43 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-16-16
    Publisher: Gregory A. Wilson
Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Epic
    Publisher's Summary:
This epic fantasy tale, written by Gregory A. Wilson, follows the story of Icarus and Jellinek, an unlikely pair of heroes who on the surface are about as different as two beings can possibly be. Icarus is a tall, fair-skinned boy of around 17 who falls to the world of Vol from the sky, a graceful being with wings, incredible powers, and no memory of anything but his name. Jellinek is a four-foot hard-scrabble flamepetal prospector with tough red skin, a gruff disposition and general dislike of everyone around him, and a two-tailed lava-resistant creature called a "solar" as a companion. On the day that their lives collide, everything about their world changes, and they discover that they have more in common than they can possibly imagine. Together Icarus and Jellinek will battle the tyranny of the Magisters, who have enslaved an entire people, while unlocking the mystery of Icarus's past.
The graphic novel introduces us to the incredibly visual world of Vol and the stunning array of characters and creatures who call it home; this full, unabridged audio dramatization, voiced by professional voice actors George Ledoux and Trendane Sparks with audio postproduction and full soundtrack by Mat Van Rhoon, brings that visual world to aural life.

You can feel the heat. The imaginative world of Vol into of itself is a red world of jagged wonder. The characters both human-like and monster-reptilian are mysterious and interesting. The journey through the red planet against the oppression of an aristocratic power and baron land is an exciting trek. I can't wait to read the next one.
but I purchased this one and am so glad I did
I am not usually a reader of graphic novels..but I purchased this one and am so glad I did.
A fresh and original take on an ancient myth (4.5 stars)
Do you enjoy reading graphic novels? Are you intrigued by ancient myths? If you answered 'yes' to both questions, Gregory A. Wilson's Icarus will be of interest to you, because it features a good story based on an ancient myth.
I consider Gregory A. Wilson Icarus to be an excellent graphic novel, because it has an epic story arc. I found it fascinating, because it's a fresh and original take on an ancient and well-known myth about Icarus. It's great that the author has written an original story and gives his readers an opportunity to experience something new. I have a feeling that this graphic novel will interest many readers.
When you read Icarus, you'll notice that it's a labour of love. There's a fine balance between the story and the illustrations, because the author and the illustrators have worked hard to make everything as perfect as possible.
Icarus is basically a fantasy adventure story, but it's also much more than that, because it's a story about change. Just like the best graphic novels, it's simultaneously entertaining, intriguing and thought-provoking.
Here's a bit of information about the story:
    - The story is divided into two parts (Part I: The Arrival and Part II: The Turning).
    - Icarus falls from the sky to the world of Vol where he meets Jellinek. Jellinek is digging for flamepetals when he sees Icarus falling from the sky. Icarus saves him from a flame demon and passes out. Jellinek takes Icarus to his home village to recover.

    another great adventure story
This is a great fantasy adventure to listen to rather than just sit and read. I like
that I can just sit back and not try to envision the voices of the characters, such as
Kelyk. The narration of it by Jason Damron, as well as the descriptive writing by Blaine Hart, is so good that I can just close my eyes and imagine everything that's going on and what Kelyk is facing on his task for the king.
    Protect the Southern Border!
A real "page-turner" of an audio book. I enjoyed listening to Towers; the story moved along at a decent clip and I enjoyed the surprises that popped up around various twists and turns of plot. For a moderate-length book, it's pretty interesting, and it left enough hanging at the end that I suspect sequels will follow.
    Awesome fantasy book
    Any additional comments?
The Towers book is a great book if you are into fantasy type of reading. I enjoyed it a lot and would purchase more if they make a series of them. It had a lot of good detail in the story and it was well written overall.
    Fantasy Short Story Genius
This fantasy short story is full of wonder and excitement! The characters are incredibly developed, paving the way for a journey full of suspense and action. Kelyk's journey is one that is full of obstacles, but Hart manages to captivate the audience by showing us what it really means to be a captain working for a king. This is a must read for anyone who wants action and a well-written plot.
    Great Fantasy Adventure
This adventure story will keep you on edge till the very end! Really enjoyed the narrator who pulls into the story right from the start. I only wish it was longer!

    Publisher's Summary:
In the very near future, a devastating Ebola-like pandemic has struck the world, but for the 1 percent in New York City, it's an excuse for even more twisted behavior.
Taylor Antrim delivers a thrilling new novel that combines the best of dystopian fiction with a sharp-eyed exploration of class and wealth in the world's capital. In this fast-paced, paranoid near-future New York City, we meet Catherine, a broke socialite who is getting sick. Desperate, she takes a job with a luxury concierge service that fulfills the most outlandish desires of the ultrarich - even if that means hunting down the 99 percent.
As the hidden agendas of her employer and his shadowy clients emerge, Catherine realizes things are not remotely as they appear, and she finds herself a pawn of megacorporations and government agents all eager to profit from the cure embedded inside of her.
    Members Reviews:
    A Boring Thriller
In general, I am a fan of post-apocalyptic novels. This one, however, was a disappointment.
The story seems to be about a world where tens of millions have died due to some epidemic called the Texas flu. The flu has not been completely devastating, but fear has given way to a government that has ratcheted up its watch over its citizens while simultaneously letting the rule of law run amuck, particularly among the rich. Money buys anything in America now, including trap shooting people, it appears.
In fact, the world drawn here is rather sketchy and our lead character, Catherine, is a boring pawn. Once having been one of the rich, she has fallen in the wake of the flu and is willing to submit to being the test subject of a new possible immunity treatment in an effort to reclaim a position once again in the world of the wealthy. In any case, she does little but allows much to happen to her. Still, all this is basically background to Mr. Antrimâs efforts to show us sex and violence in a new venue.
Frankly, I found it to be mostly uninteresting. New York City and its environs, where most of the action takes place, is poorly realized, as it the history that leads up to the setting of this story. Catherine and the plot that happens to her is mostly unbelievable and mostly tiresome, unless you like violent set pieces. I was sincerely hoping for much more.
    Page Turner, but No Brainer!
The plot was interesting and definitely a page turner. It feeds into the government conspiracy theories and blames corporate greed for making money at all costs the goal. Then the use of drugs and plenty of sex scattered throughout the chapters may add public appeal. However, my three stars represents how satisfied I was spending my time reading something that neither enriched my life or taught me anything worthwhile. I know that drugs, encounter sex, greed, and evil abound in society, but I don't need to spend several hours of my life to read about them. I'm a voracious reader, so its not like I have a shortage of books or a short book list. I am a bit disappointed in myself for finishing it, but I did want to see what happens. So, if you are on a long flight, have a lot of waiting to do, this will definitely fill the time. Personally, I need a bit more substance to feed my literary appetite.
    Not good / not horrible
There is a good story somewhere in this book but it gets lost about halfway in. It certainly wasn't a predictable story but I kept expecting the plot to pick up but it never did.

    Publisher's Summary:
Flight Moon was once the prized dragon of Gorusk. Swift and fearless, she oversaw Shirr's army with deadly beauty. But a dragon is never subservient to a human, even if he is the banished king of the Black Waste. Her plans to assassinate Shirr are thwarted. Barely able to escape, Flight Moon flees to Arnith.
Bleeding and exhausted, Flight Moon knows Shirr will eventually catch up to her. She's saved just enough strength for one last fight.
Twins are born in the kingdom of Arnith. A boy with silver hair like his elven grandmother, and a girl with a secret. A secret that if discovered, risks her life and the lives of her entire family.
Barely two weeks old, Fornala is already condemned to death. Bavun, the high mage, believes her physical deformity is a curse laid upon those who abuse magic. For this she must be sacrificed.
A dragon and an infant girl, both outmatched with impossible odds, may find strength in each other. What should kill them both, only makes them stronger.
    Members Reviews:
    Compelling and Unexpected
The book begins with a family being attacked. One of twins, the infant girl, Fornala, was born with no legs, and as such she is looked upon as being a curse. The local man in charge, a mage, declares that she is "not yet aware of what she is," and decides to remove the curse by removing her, and she is taken from her parents to be killed.
At the same time a dragon is being pursued by her former allies, and has chosen to flee to the city where Fornala's life hangs in the balance. A battle involving great quantities of magic ensues over the place where the infant girl is to be executed and a terrible accident occurs. Somehow Fornala and Flight Moon are "blended."
The story moves right along, from scene to gripping scene, and as the characters are introduced, the sense of history that is driving the plot is also revealed.
All of D. M. Raver's works involve the history of Arnith, and the significance of certain truths that form the crux of each tale. I'm glad to see her exploring dragons again in this tale, as Flight Moon is an awesome, very real character--A dragon who is a traitor, merged with an infant girl who is an outcast.
I highly recommend this work of fantasy. The characters are compelling, the plot moves in unexpected directions, and even though it is clearly the first installment in a series, the ending is satisfying.

The Bend is the Best in the Series
Superheroes in Prose: The Bend is the best in the series. This is pretty sci fi/ fantasy material as well as smart. In this installment, Liberty, who Gabe angered before is dating Gabe's mother posing as someone named Jacob and is planning to kill her if Gabe doesn't stop him. He has to pull all his connections together including Pink and the Weather Witch to stop Liberty.
Another great listen by Sevan Paris. I think this book would appeal to a lot of guys especially teens or YA.

The Descent ~ Awesome Story and Performance!
Part two in the Rise of Cithria series was great! The story is complex with lots of characters, moves at a steady pace with one adventure right after the next, and each author brings a different element to the story. Overall a great continuation in the series.
With all the different characters, and their POV's, Kevin Clay did an amazing job bringing the story to life and giving each character their own voice. Well done! I look forward to listening to the next story in the series....when it's available.

Granted, this is only the second book in the Rise of Cithria series so it may be too soon to tell. I really like where this story is going. The narrator makes it easy to follow the different characters. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Blast for my unbiased review.
