Iâve had my eye on The Good Girls for a while, and decided to snap it up when it was on sale. I finally made time to read it but I thought it to be a little different from what the blurb portrayed. Donât get me wrong, it was still a good read, but I expected it to be a lighter kind of read with some sizzling scenes to get me blushing. The Good Girls was about two girls who are a little unsure about their sexuality, and how they deal with the feelings of their families and the attitudes of people in a small town. It was emotional, gut-wrenching and intense.

Ellie was raised by her single mother, and after a tragic accident was sent to live with her father. She has to start over in a new town with no friends and a father she doesnât know. She seems lost, but soon strikes up a friendship with Cara, the girl who lives with her father and his girlfriend Dawn. Soon, they are sneaking out with Caraâs boyfriend Tristan and his friends.

I enjoyed the alternating perspectives in this book, so I could see the struggles that both girls were going through. The friendship between Ellie and Cara developed quickly and lines were blurred early on. They were both attracted to one another, but they both felt very alone and neither of them had anyone to support them. Their families and the community shied upon same sex relationships, and so they both struggled with their feelings. They both made decisions to keep the peace, and to prevent heartbreak down the road.

I loved Brody! He was a good guy and he became close friends with Ellie. He initially harboured feelings for Ellie, but they ended up forming a strong friendship where he supported Ellie and eventually Cara with anything they needed.

The Good Girls was a difficult and emotional journey. My heart broke numerous times at what the girls had to deal with. Teresa Mummert knows how to write a story that will impact you and leave you emotionally wrecked. This was a fantastic read that will stay with me for a long time.

5 Fan-freaking-tastic STARS!!!!!

I will admit I was a little unsure when I sat down to start this book. Though I love M/M books I have only ever read one other F/F book and lets just say it didn't go over well. Eek! Knowing this was written by Teresa Mummert made the decision to read pretty easy. I love all of her books and refused to let one bad book on the subject make me miss out on her book. The Good Girls was more than I expected.

the story is pretty good and entertaining

This was book one of a 3 book series! Oh... did I say book? Although this story is printed with a cover and a back cover, I hesitate to call it a book! It is definitely NOT a novel. It is much more a short story. In fact it looks as if the publisher tries to add some blank and filler pages before and after the story begins and ends. The story is only about 70 pages long!!! And, to make the "book" seem bigger they add a "preview" at the end of the story... of the next book in the series. The only problem with that is that the next book in the series is also so short, that the preview is probably a third of the next book!

Don't get me wrong... the story is pretty good and entertaining, even though the characters in the story do not seem written to be very complete. The author does keep me interested in the story, the only problem is that this is a short story... and whatever you pay for it is not worth it if you think your getting a real book, a novel.

This three book series would have been much better if the publisher had published them as a single book. then maybe the story would have been an actual novel that could have boasted to be a bit over 200 pages!!!

I have yet to get book 3 of this series. I may or may not get it in fact. I mean, I already read a third of the book in the previews after the story in book 2. A 70 page story certainly is not worth the cost, but after reading the first two, it might be nice to know how the story ends!

Note to the author... publish the three parts of this story as a single book... perhaps even expand each story as they are way too short and because they're written like a short story, the story and the characters are not written fully or fleshed out like the story in an actual novel.

Dragons Shifters!!! Totally Hot!!

This book was totally awesome. How can you not love shifters and Dragon shifters at that. This is Arulean and Rajiah story. Arulean is the Dragon King his mate is Lyphnia the Dragon Queen. Lyphnia is Rajiah sister and he is an unwed omega coming to the castle to deliver his Great Mother Ashes. Their are lots of Alphas coming after Rajiah but he wants Arulean. But he loves the thrill of the chase but he's not willing to be caught by just anyone. Lyphnia feeling that something is going on warn her brother to stay away. From the bottom of my Hart

There are very few series that I have read from beginning to end. The "hmmm, I'll read this" moment of the first book in the series is usually as far as I get. However, the Compass Series had me like a greedy whore of the words and stories of Tamsen Parker. Every single person that I wanted to know more about, Parker had their story coming next. There was always Rey Walter in the mix of each. And why wouldn't the last book of the series be all about this man that helped to bring so many people together.

Rey is always someone else's cartographer. He creates a map of their very needs. Why it took him so long to write his own is all told in this book. It takes a very sexy, strong, and oh so willing soul that is Allie Hart to be Rey's ink.

Their story isn't easy, but it's as hard as Allie's rippling pectorals. There is no quick way to Rey's hart...I mean heart. Allie works for it. Parker creates this chemistry between the two of them that lights every chapter on fire. Be warned, it's the absolute hottest of the entire Compass Series. You won't be able to get enough of this Rey/Allie combo.

I'm very sad to see this series end, but Parker gives it a send off that none of us will ever forget. "Iâm tired of being up on this lonely mountain top, and I think I might know someone who believes heâs worthy."

Out of the park. Absolutely fabulous.

Strong character driven love story about an unlikely couple. Tamsen Parker weaves a tale of joy, sorrow, pain and peace. Extremely well written.

a fabulous finish to the series, wraps things up, and brings us full circle, but I'm so sad at losing these characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Real Vampires Take No Prisoners?

When Matheus and Quin FINALLY get together after one hell of a slow burn.

What does James Patrick Cronin bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Well, you can't blame a guy but his voice was a little different for the third book. I get the impression he did the first two books one right after the other. At first I didn't like his take on Quin in the first two books but I came to love (adore it) and as for Matheus he was so totally spot on. The third book, it was like he was trying to remember what they sounded like and Matheus sounded so much harder, losing his boyish voice. Even Alistair was a tad different but his secondary characters were the same and very good. He did the female voices extremely well and I only know of one other narrator who has that knack. I wish Mr. Cronin did more m/m books because he is simply wonderful. He does snark so well!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I'm not gay! Well maybe I'm gay...ok I'm gay.

That's Matheus. It was a real arc for Matheus and learning who he really was. (And how strong he really was.)

Any additional comments?

This is has been one of my FAVORITE books. I have laughed, chuckled and there are some beautiful moments captured, some real truths - all beautifully done. The cruelty of the laboratory scenes really horrified me - and it goes on every day here in America - not with vampires but with animals. Also the cruelty that Matheus endures really got to me (but then Quin took care of that in the first book...gotta love the guy). Killed me when Matheus was attacked with baseball bats by some goons in the first book and when Quin saved him saying - I'm here love. - or words to that effect. Ahhhhhhhhh romance. The author is fabulous.

a fun ride

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It has everything, snarky witty comments, car chases, spies, betrayals and hot sex.

What did you like best about this story?

Even though it was a mystery/PI story, it had a hefty dose of humor. I laughed a lot.

When Josh walked out of the meeting room. He is an asshole and i like it.

an extreme need to read further. They was no reason to cry. I laughed plenty of times though.

DNF if not for narrator

If it had not been for the excellent narration, I would probably have not finished this story and if I had Id have been more mad than I am now.

First, this is NOT romantic. Our MCs get a barely there HFN and it is TOTALLY unsatisfying. I get that this is the beginning to the series, but I was not invested enough in these guys to continue and was SO frustrated by Charlie and how he treats Josh that Im hoping Josh moves on!

In the beginning it looked like it was going to be this clever Im cyber in love with someone and then I meet a real guy but what about the cyber guy but that all ends after a brief encounter between Josh and Cal and the mystery is revealed early that Cal is Charlie. (Sorry, not really a spoiler though.)

Our MCs are barely on page together and when the ILYs come, they dont feel authentic. Josh seems like an interesting guy but he lets Cal totally run over him and I cant believe the ultimatum Cal gives Josh!

I also didnt care for the action/mystery part of the story it didnt really make a lot of sense and seemed unrealistic.

Joel Leslie did a great job with his narration I love his British accents! but he wasnt enough to make me recommend this story.

Worth listening to

This is a really good detective crime story. There is a good plot with a romance growing between the main characters. The main characters are likeable and the narrator gives the characters their own identity, which just makes listening to a lot easier. Especially when the characters have there own accents. It can be quite entertaining at times.

I would definitely listen to more from this narrator and most definitely read more from this author.

The characters were flat.

Love road books

Going around with these 4 friends was great, the description of the scenery was great, the characters well developed. The narration was absolutely the correct one, Emily Durante is capable to creat a great Variety of voices and it was a pleasure to listen to her.

GOT MORE THAN I EXPECTED

I got this book thinking it was going to be like many of the books I've been listening to recently, (lots of sex some character development ) but this book is great, not only is it a good M/M book but it's a good supernatural book.

The MC's are 2 broken and different men who have a preconceived idea of one another which makes them adversaries, but deep down they're the same and I like that the author gave them time to realize that, yes there is an instant attraction they have but they're also torn between those feelings and the painful history they share, so it's hard for them to allow themselves to give into those feelings completely. The story outside of the romance is just great and I was equally invested in it.

The end had me gripping the edge of my seat, bitting my nails, sweating bullets, however you want to put it, if a book has me talking out loud to the characters then I know I got a good book. The narrators were both spot on with their characters they were so believable. I can't wait for the next book. worth every penny.

Great Enemies to Lovers Story

Would you consider the audio edition of Surrender the Dark to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but I loved the dual narration between Tyler Stevens & Cooper North. They both did a very good job portraying their characters personality.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Surrender the Dark?

I really enjoyed seeing the world through Benjamin's eyes, his unique way of seeing the world around him & then he is able to see with Tzadkiel by his side.

Any additional comments?

Enjoyed this book very much, there were times when I really wanted to knock some sense into Benjamin but he had reasons... Definitely recommend & I hope this turns into a series.
