This is nice for high school readers,

but it didnt do much for me.

Its about teenagers. Someone loves someone else who doesnt know it.

There were two incidents that caused huge problems which were not interesting for me - but the kind of things teens get all angsty about. For example Girl A and Boy have a fight. Girl B puts her arms around Boy and plans to kiss him just as Girl A walks in the room. Boy never got kissed but feels awful and is now all angsty and needs to make a big apology to Girl A.

Aside from that, the story was pleasant and sensitive about a boy who lost his vocal cords and a girl with a terrible problem at her home. The reader hurts for her.

The narrator Matthew Dunehoo was very good.

I was sadly disappointed :(

I am a big Alex Flinn fan! I've reread beastly and a kiss in time each at least 3 times!! And I'm a HUGE fan of retold fairy tails so I was very excited for this book!

But I found it to be:.. A bit doll and also totally random and messed up.

For one, the romance was horrible! You know I'm the old diseny princess movies, how they meet and two seconds later they are in love... That's exactly how it happens in the book! not cool man!

And than there's th hole drugs circle thing... Like whaaaaat?

I really didn't like how they handled the whole boy meets girl, and how they just magically can hear each other.. Seems a bit much.

But I have to admit here were are some good parts..

I likes the whole mystery, the dead daughters journal holds secrets.

I suppose there are some good things about the book... But I'd sooner suggest you go reread Beastly or a Kiss in time rather than buying Towering.. It was okay but I kinda wish I didn't bother listenig to it!

Good But Slow

HEAVEN IS FOR HEROES contains a great cast of well-developed characters. While Jordan would love to sit in her room and cry all day over the loss of her brother, she realizes that she must go on and even help Alex, Lee's best friend, struggle through his physical and emotional turmoil. Alex, meanwhile, struggles with his loss of a leg as well as the possibility that he caused his best friend's death. The question of what really happened to Lee lingers in the background. Was his death due to an accident? Or was it a bad call on somebody's part? Or was it really suicide? The unspoken question haunts the family who know that Lee had a troubled childhood and a tendency toward self-destruction.

I enjoyed the story; however, it was very wordy, and I skimmed through much of it without really losing anything.

Excellent Audio!

I was the lucky winner of a copy of Heaven is for Heroes audio. I spend a significant amount of time in my car, particularly on weekends. I'm always looking for good books and speakers to entertain me while I drive. I was not disappointed with Heaven is for Heroes. Not only is the story engaging, but the narrator does a lovely job. She catches the intonation of each character beautifully, making it easy to plunge right into the drama. Heaven is for Heroes is a tender love story with a touch of intrigue. In many ways, it is a coming of age story with each character struggling to come to terms with loss and new beginnings. Sharon brings each character to life in such a way that you feel you know them personally. I highly recommend Heaven is for Heroes.

Very good New Adult novel

I loved this book! It is one of the books in the New Adult genre, and as an adult about the same age as Jordie's mom, I have to say this was a very good story that held my interest. I loved Jordie and Alex, as well as the secondary characters like the General (a/k/a Brig) and Vic.

The book actually made me cry at one point when Jordie and her mom were talking about Jordie's brother, Lee.

Weak characterization unmakes the story.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I wouldn't recommend this book. The characters behave in odd and illogical ways even within the context of the story. This really holds the story back which otherwise has an interesting premise.

What about Khristine Hvams performance did you like?

Heart-racing, action packed - I'm ready for more!

My first thought after finishing this book (in one sitting): WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

Unlike anything Ive read in the past few months, Reboot was so gripping and thrilling that I was unable to put it down until it was done. I found myself flying through the pages, racing to the end and at the same time, not wanting it to end. I mean, just WOW.

In post-apocalyptic Texas (every other state in America was destroyed due to a virus), reboots are teenagers who come back to life after dying and are then given to the government as bounty hunters except the reboots dont actually get anything out of it. Ugh, can you imagine following every single order, always listening to someone else, never getting what you want to do especially as a teenager? Yuck!

What I thought most about during this book (and what frustrated me) was how these reboots are treated so..inhumanly not only by the government, but by their [former] families. Not an ounce of pity or kindness was given to these teens. Supposedly these reboots dont feel any emotion, but do you think they act emotionless because of their situation or because thats how they really are? I mean, if I was treated poorly and like an animal, I would probably just act emotionless out of a survival/defense mechanism.

Which brings me to Callum, sweet Callum. A 22, and such a endearing boy. From the very first scene, I was drawn to his sweet disposition. Every scene with him is filled with this tension you want to protect him, you want him to grow, you want him to kick butt even though you know hes a 22. For some reason, he reminded me a lot of Four from Divergent by Veronica Roth. I think it was their kind hearts and adoration they held for their girls.

Reboot is one that fans of Divergent are going to want to pick up for sure.

One of the best books I've listened to this year

This was one of the best books I've listened to this year. I had the pleasure of hearing David Levithan and Andrea Cremer read from this book at the YAB fest in Round Rock. I was intrigued by the excerpt they read and also with the story of their collaboration. This story was written like a conversation. Each one would take turns writing a chapter, with very little discussion about plotting beforehand. I was a little unsure if the invisible boy premise would hold up, but they did well explaining it all in the end. The story was sweet and engaging with lovable characters. Highly recommended.

Fun, sweet, relaxing love story!

If you could sum up Invisibility in three words, what would they be?

Contemporary with a Paranormal Twist.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Invisibility?

All the scenes with Laurie (Elizabeth's brother) was the most memorable.

Invisibility was a fun, fresh and relaxing read, and I adored the story.

Ive nothing but amazing things to say about David Levithans Every Day, and Im also a huge Andrea Cremer fan, so when I first heard about this book, I was dying to get my hands on a copy.

The only thing I struggled with in this book was wrapping my head around the whole invisibility thing. It was hard for me to make it real in my head when all I kept thinking about was, How the heck did Stephens mom take care of him when he was a baby?! But enough about thatits just a story right?

The romance between Stephen and Elizabeth was heart melting. Their journey to discover why Stephen is the way he is, why only she can see him, and whether there is anything they can do to change his condition was so much fun that Im smiling even now as I write this. I think the best part of this journey is Laurie. Laurie is Elizabeths brother, and he is by far my favorite character.

The overall feel of this book is kind of a contemporary feel, but with a paranormal twist.

I read the entire series. I enjoyed the characters and could relate to most of them. Narration was average. Again, this should have been one book instead of three. That and a decent editor would have made this book shine.

Seen it a thousand times. Read it just as many. Not a bad story but nothing really makes it great. Just can't recommend it. Sorry.

Great new zombie twist

This book had a great cast of characters it was a very fast-paced action filled book. Had a new twist on the zombie Primus ended up reading it in one sitting can't wait for the next book. Strong female characters in the story very well written.

Zombie Games Origins was action and suspense from the start. It was right up my alley. Teen Cassie Wild is pretty much an ordinary kid with martial arts skills until everything goes haywire. Everyone is sick with a flu virus and the authorities are pushing for everyone to take the vaccine. Cassies mother wont have anything to do with it so no vaccine in their family. Theres a side romance ensuing between Cassie and her karate instructor Bryce but that isnt without problems.

What I enjoyed the most was the action and scene transitions. The story flows well without any hang ups describing far too much that isnt relevant to the story. Its written first person so the reader/listener gets Cassies account of the story. The plot isnt simply waking up to zombies its centered around Cassie trying to get to her little sister who spent the night at a friends before the zombie breakout and survival.

As a listener I enjoyed the narrator, Belle Avery, is phenomenal. Her voice is clear, concise and she sounds like a teenager. She reads at a steady pace not skipping a beat.

Better than TV!

Different from usual offerings

While this isn't the usual Lurlene McDaniel style, they did all have some sort of health issue, but to me, maybe the novella status, they just weren't as emotional as usual. They all were different styles, but all dealing with time, one a historic type setting, another futuristic and another a collision of past and future.

I liked all the characters and the romances were sweet, it is just none of them stuck with me like her works usually do.

I am a huge fan of Lurlene McDaniel's. I discovered her is high school, and have kept reading her book way way way after! Somehow I missed this one, so I ordered it, read it and loved it.

I loved the book the stories are so engaging and the endings were some what unpredictable. Lurlene McDaniels is one of my favorite authors I'm even trying to collect all her books. I will totally recommend this book to my friends.

Modern Day Fairytale

The first couple chapters were rough ... but if you can make it through, the rest of the book is completely worth it. So incredibly funny ... I laughed so hard through out. Seriously, there is something great about a modern day fairy tale that is full of Witt and sarcasm. I truly enjoyed Becky's relationship with her best friend Rocher... Gosh everyone needs a friendship like that... Best comedic timing! I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a fun read.

Laziest World-Building I've Read in a While

Things happen. The author doesn't explain how or why. Some more things happen even quicker. No one knows how or why. Even more things happen to the point of incredulity.

People said this book was funny. I chuckled a couple of times, but not enough to enjoy this novel. Quite disappointing. It seems as if the writer wanted to jump on the "chick lit" trend and did so, with no respect for the reader's intelligence.

It was an interesting concept, although I think rather poorly executed. This should be in teen literature.
