Mayfair Moon was an enjoyable enough read, and I'm always quite happy to be reading about werewolves, and this book definitely has it's fair share of some hot, sexy specimens, especially Isaac.

The main character, Adria is a likeable enough character, though slightly annoying at times, but not enough so to hinder my enjoyment of the book.

The romance bothered me though. There's an instant attraction on both sides, and from the way things were playing out, and some comments that were made by Isaac's family members, I felt we were heading towards an imprinting or bonding, which would have been fine with me, but when that turned out not to be the case, the romance just didn't work for me then. They're feeling were just too intense too quickly for my liking. Thankfully though, there were other points of interest which managed to hold my attention to this book.

Something happened at the end of this book and I think I know what it is, I'm just not sure who did it? I'm really interested in seeing how that will play out, because no matter who did it, it's not really a good thing. I think there'll be hell to pay, especially from reading the blurb of book 2.

The secondary characters were also quite interesting, especially Harry and Zia, who became Adria's best friends. And then there's Alex, Adria's sister, who's living with the enemy family. So I'm definitely curious about the next book which I've already downloaded from Audible and I'm looking forward to listening to.

The story was entertaining in that bubblegum insomnia, I know what's coming next kind of way. Sometimes it's comforting to know who is who.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Twists, turns. Make the teen talk like a teen. I expect that there needs to be some more interaction between the author and the demographic in order for authenticity.

Cute!

I'm a 27 year old who likes a good young adult novel to pass the time on the bus/train/in the car and this was perfect. A little cheesy but that's part of the charm. I realize I'm not the target demographic but I would have loved this book at any age. Also it helps that I'm also a from Boston and living in England. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. It put a smile on my face!

A lush, poetic, enthralling work

Recommended to me by a friend with excellent taste in books, this book had a high bar to meet and it truly accomplished that feat. I waded into this world and within just a paragraph or two I was fully open to it, excited to see all the ways it might develop, where it might take me.

As a queer person of color, I profoundly appreciated that not only the characters, but also the context and the culture were diverse and nuanced. It even provides a setting in which gender roles weren't taken for granted and sexuaulity was fluid and unencumbered by irrelevant moral trappings. And words didn't just sit on the page! They sang and danced, their rhythm staying with me a long time after I closed the book, whether for a moment or finally at the end.

I would love to see this as a film or miniseries, but I would fear no one could do it justice. It is just GORGEOUS! I honestly don't understand the low star reviews!

As with Michelle's Nightshade series, 2 books just isn't enough for me! I want more.

I'm good with the way she ended the series, but I have already been running through the different possibilities for future continuations. lol I just can't help myself.

I love the characters, there could have been a little more love triangle drama to increase the suspense, but it was still a really good dynamic between the characters that kept me on my toes. I was hoping for more Craven, I'm always drawn to the bad boys for some reason...

I will be reading more of Michelle's work in the near future!

If you liked book one, book two is worth a credit

The plot was overly complicated and drawn out a bit, but still enjoyable. I just felt like towards the end I wanted it to hurry up and be over. A lot of the plot was predictable. This is kind of a second rate Darynda Jones book as the story lines are sooo similar. But Darynda Jones does a better job. (see Death and the Girl Next Door)

That being said, I still thought it was a good read and worth a credit, especially if you enjoyed book one.

The narrator definetely makes this story a great listen. She is one of my favorites!

the book lives up to its title...with each book I've seen the characters grow, the story turning more exciting and relationships unfold. the way Violet feels for phoenix is so real and yet the endless love for Lincoln gave so much more to the romantic angle...i have been hooked to the book until the end...the plot grew on me because it just has intense romance, and damn good action...love the twist in the end..waiting for the new book

Amazing...I cried at the end.

By the fourth book in a series, you would expect it would be getting a bit old...maybe not able to live up to expectation...this is NOT the case. This book had me reading at every spare moment and I read it in a day. I cried for the last 15% of the book and it felt good.

Not living up to the hype

After the first couple of books, I was expecting more from this series, but I am not seeing it. I will continue to read the series out of curiosity, but not desperation, which stinks. I tend to really look forward to series and I hate when I feel like I need to read them just, so I can see what happened versus wanting to read them, so I know how the story has developed and will end.

Loved the whole series

It's a really engaging series of books. As for this book being the final, I was totally satisfied with the ending, it was gripping and heart wrenching and it had me in tears in a good way. I am really looking forward to Steven Speilberg bringing it to life. This book is perfect for any age that has a romantic nature.

Betrayed, Book 3 in the Vampire Journals

Would you listen to Betrayed again? Why?

Yes! I have a TBI (trumatic brain injury) from a car accident and my reading is slow and to understand I sometimes have to read it over again. Listening to it, I understand without forgetting what has just been said and understanding is a lot easier for me.

What other book might you compare Betrayed to and why?

The first book in the Vampire Journals series " Turned". It was the first audio book I have ever listened to.

What about Emily Gittelmans performance did you like?

I like that she really got into the character's voices and attitudes. Her voice was very nice to listen to and I understood everything she was saying.

Great second ook.

I was going to skip the second book in this series and jump straight to the third. I am so glad I didn't. I think this one was better then the first! Great details. Good storyline. And a surprising end! I didn't see that coming at all.

More story and less emotion - better

The first book was hard to get through with way too much emotion and very little story. The concept of the ever neath is a great idea and could have been rich in story. This was better but rather than using the story to enrich the author again chose emotional remembrances to embellish. Could have been much better but still better than the first.

Martha Lee (narrator) ruined the book for me.what would have been quite a good read, turned into an exercise in patience! her overly dramatized voice and the way she emphacizes and pauses dramatically at inappropriate times, made me regret purchasing this book.

The characters continued to evolve and motives and actions were revealed consistently throughout the book. Good ending.

A little hard to get into the accent of the main character at first but eventually it grew on me.

Drove Me Nuts

Yeah, these boys are gay. Well, one claims to be bisexual. I don't know why that needs to make them as annoying as hell and carry on in such a selfish manner. Having enjoyed the first two books I found this road trip to be both boring and annoying. There was a number of times I wanted to shout at the player when Nelson did something totally selfish or stupid, or when Kyle sulked like an 11 year old. I found them both to be gratingly immature, self centered and annoying in this book. For me, they both seemed to have taken a step backwards in the level of maturity and self interest they had in the previous books.

The narration begun to grate on me also. The number of monotone 'whoo hoos' made me completely frustrated and annoyed. Perhaps I wasn't in the mood for this book, however I just found it to be tedious and annoying.

I just didn't like this book at all. Too many things went wrong, too many arguments and disagreements and generally too much angst for me to enjoy.

AMAZING BOOK Wish there was more to this series.

love these books and would love to see a film series made for them. highly recommend this series!

love this book

I have read and reread this book over and over, as well as listen to the narrative. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because Nelson finally got someone to love in the end and happy because Jason and Kyle got to find out what true love is. Sad because all three boys are going to part ways, Nelson is staying in CA with his new love, Kyle and Jason are going to different colleges, which their love will be tested again.
