For the past several weeks, we've been exploring what I believe is the most pivotal event in all of history, and even more importantly, the most pivotal event in all of eternity. Everything God has made available to us through Jesus is rooted in what happened during those three days between the Cross and the Resurrection, and ultimately His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
Most believers know the story of the crucifixion. Most believe that Jesus died and rose again. But very few of us have ever stopped to ask, "What does God say actually happened during those three days, and what does that mean for my life today?"
That's what this series is all about.
My desire isn't to challenge your faith. It's to strengthen it. Sometimes that means we have to set aside traditions we've accepted without question and come back to the simple testimony of Scripture. My prayer is that you'll approach these messages with an open heart and allow God's Word to become the foundation for what you believe.
The Bible tells us that we are saved by believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead. But salvation is so much bigger than simply going to heaven one day. The Greek word for salvation includes healing, deliverance, protection, wholeness, peace, preservation, and every aspect of the life Jesus purchased for us through His finished work.
As we continue through this series, I believe you'll begin to see the Cross, the grave, the Resurrection, and the Throne from an entirely new perspective. More importantly, you'll discover how every aspect of your faith is meant to rest on what Jesus accomplished, not on your performance, your feelings, or religious tradition.
