For whatever reason, it's very difficult to treat chronic pain without major side effects.  We haven't so much made the side effects better as we have given people a wider range of side effects to choose from.  For those who can't abide by the other stuff, it seems cannabis may be the final frontier.  Or at least, the best frontier.
