Imagine how many doors you could open for yourself if you learned how to learn?!
Learning how to learn isn't something that comes naturally to all of us.
I'm the type of person that needs a lot of context while learning. I need to know why a subject matter is important. And I also need to feel interested in it. Otherwise, it can feel like a tortious experience. Or maybe that's just a story I have told myself over and over again? Maybe I have conditioned myself to believe something that's not true because I'm afraid of failing? That's what reading the book Limitless is helping me to see. While reading this book, it feels like the author, Jim Kwik can see inside my soul. He talks about his struggle to learn after experiencing a traumatic brain injury. He talks about how being the "boy with the broken brain" became his story, and held him back from being able to learn. Until he made the decision that it didn't have to. This book gives you the tools you'll need to be able to learn how to learn. Think about how learning how to learn, can take you from wanting to do something, to taking action. I get how intimidating it can feel to learn something new. Like a new language for example. I get how the intimidation can hold you back. I get what it's like to feel like you're not smart enough or good enough. And how impossible learning a new thing can feel.
I tell you all about my personal struggle with learning on today's episode in the hopes that you see you're not alone in that struggle, and so you can start to change your story about learning, too.
