Wine Road Episode 103 | Karissa Kruse
In this episode we welcome Karissa Kruse, President of the Sonoma County Winegrowers, a marketing and educational organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Sonoma County as one of the world’s premier grape growing regions.
Karissa joins us to discuss the details of the Climate Adaptation Certification pilot program that is exclusively launching in Sonoma County in partnership with the California Land Stewardship Institute. Karissa outlines how the program will create a set of practices and analysis of properties to create a database of measurements with regard to farming management that will be overseen by the FDA and USDA and federal climate goals. Cool Stuff!
The program will collect data that will be used to create consumer friendly stats and terms that we all can relate to with regards to the wine we enjoy and what the individual can do to make a difference. Drink wine and make the world a better place!
Later in the episode Marcy digs deep to come up with a “sustainable” item of the day, the Seed Pop!
