This week on the driven chat podcast John Marcar and Amy Shore talk to Praga Cars Racing Driver - Miles Lacey.
Miles brings with him a fairy tale story of how he went from an apprentice as a vehicle development test driver for a larger OEM to being offered a seat as a racing driver for Praga Cars in the Praga R1.
Like so many people in the automotive industry, Miles Lacey has a true passion for cars and driving. With a reasonably unorthodox entry into the industry and a strong desire to succeed, in this weeks episode, Miles unfolds how he transitioned from a really tough and unpredictable time in his working career to being offered a dream come true scenario.

Every once in a while, we like to surprise our subscribers with a cheeky bonus episode... and this is one of those!
Today's podcast is a highlight reel from our very popular radio show on talkRADIO. We know that not everyone can tune in to our show at the time of it going out 'as live' (every Sunday at 7pm on talkRADIO in the UK), so we thought we would throw together some of the segments to give a little taster of what we do in our radio show.
In this episode, you'll hear from your usual podcast hosts, John Marcar, Andy Jaye and Amy Shore, PLUS our regular weekly co-host on the radio Mike Brewer and two special guests, Quentin Willson and Robert Llewellyn.
We hope you enjoy this little taster and we hope you might be able to join us each week when the show goes out as live - Sundays 7pm on talkRADIO.

If you're in the fortunate position to be able to invest some spare cash, then the market can be slightly daunting when it comes to knowing where to put your money. But what if there was a way to invest in a market you already know a lot about?
As a petrolhead, chances are you'll know quite a lot about certain cars and subsequently what they are often worth. The Car Crowd is an investment company that caters for just that scenario.
With a fairly new format to the UK, The Car Crowd allows you to invest in classic cars and profit from their potential appreciation in value. The company owner David Spickett joins Amy Shore and John Marcar to talk about the concept and to delve into some premium classic car chat!

Jody Millhouse is the face and owner of Thornton Hundred Motorcycles - the go-to custom shop for Triumph bikes. Jody joins John Marcar, Amy Shore and Ant Partridge for some premium two-wheel chat.
As a custom builder, Jody has built bikes for decerning customers and celebrities like The Body Coach - Joe Wicks. Despite being just 25 years old, Jody explains how frustrations as a young mechanical engineering apprentice lead him to walk away from working for 'the man' and push forward with his true passion in life, which would later become his business.
Joining us for this week's chat is fellow bike builder and friend of the show, Ant Partridge. In this weeks conversation, we touch on the stresses, strains and delights of starting your own business both physically and mentally.
We would love your feedback on this week's show and invite you to leave us a review in the usual places or drop us an email to get in touch with the team via [email protected]

Ant Anstead is a familiar face to petrol heads and gear heads on both sides of the Atlantic, thanks to his work in top-level car-based television in shows such as For the Love of Cars and Wheeler Dealers with our friend Mike Brewer.
Ant joined Andy Jaye and John Marcar at the Silverstone Classic event to talk about his working life, private life and the challenges of becoming tabloid fodder for the USA.
Ant brings us up to speed on Radford and multiple other projects, including the main reason for attending the 2021 Silverstone Classic - the kit based Alfa 158 racecar!
As always, we thank you for listening and hope you're enjoying the content. Get in touch with the show via email - [email protected]

Julian Thomson has designed some of the most popular cars seen on the road to date. In his stint as design director for Jaguar, Julian was responsible for overseeing the Jaguar XE, E-Pace, F-Pace, and F-Type, as well as having involvement in some of the Land Rover products too - such as the Range Rover Evoque.
Earlier in his career, Julian 'penned' one of the most iconic sports cars globally - the Lotus Elise, a car that very quickly became a design classic and a benchmark for small sports car manufacturers.
This week, Julian joins Andy Jaye and John Marcar to talk through some of his career highlights so far and indicate what the future might look like, too, since his departure from JLR.
Before diving into the chat, Andy, Amy and John get a little bit distracted in the opening section (recorded, as it often is at Caffeine & Machine), and we open up the opportunity for you, the listener, to get your moans in for a new 'Marcar Moans' episode coming soon! Get your moans, (as well as your comments and questions) into [email protected]

This week, on The Driven Chat Podcast, we are joined by award-winning television director Brian Klein. Brian has over twenty-five years; experience in the TV industry, and his work regularly appears on Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC and Sky. Amongst his directing credits are twenty-five seasons of the iconic car show Top Gear.
Brian was responsible for directing the Jeremy Clarkson stocking fillers that many will remember from the 1990s before then, taking a pioneering role in the re-launch and revival of BBC Top Gear with the format we all know and love featuring Clarkson, Hammond and May. In the conversation with John Marcar and Andy Jaye, Brian shares many behind the scenes stories for the very first time, including details on why The Stig is named The Stig and how the show name Top Gear was almost lost forever to become Carmageddon..
Brian joins us also to talk about the new book that he's written in lockdown called The Counterfeit Candidate - a story that takes his passion and study on Adolf Hitler and post-war times into a fictional thriller based on factual events.
Before diving into the conversation with Brian, Andy Jaye, and John Marcar, talk about our latest press loan - a BMW M4 Competition and to our shock and horror... it's made John 'a little bit sad'!?
Find out why by listening in.

This week we bring you a new format for the Driven Chat Podcast - 'Live from Lotus'. Last week, we were invited to the launch event of the Lotus Emira, the most significant British car launch in recent years. The Emira replaces the 'three Es'; The Elise, the Evora and the Exige and is the final internal combustion-engined car before the company switches exclusively to EVs.
John Marcar takes the lead in this week's episode with Amy Shore as they explore the home of Lotus Cars ahead of the big reveal of the Emira to the world. Our very own Andy Jaye was the host of the launch event alongside our good friend Helen Stanley and both found time to join us in the podcast too.
In this episode, we hear from;
Plus some 'live reactions' to the car's unveiling from car influencers; Sam Moores and Sid North. Motoring journalists Harry Metcalf, Alex Goy & David Tillier. The son of Colin Chapman (ex lotus director) Clive Chapman and television presenter and broadcaster Jake Humprey.
It's a long one this week, but we hope you love it. Remember you can email the show for questions, comments and feedback to [email protected].
