On this episode, we discuss dry eye disease (also known as keratoconjunctivitis sicca). We give some basic background information including pathophysiology and signs/symptoms. We then compare and contrast the various artificial tear products based on the information from "Artificial tears potpourri: a literature review" (PubMed ID below). We then discuss the roles of ophth cyclosporine, ophth lifitegrast, and nasal varenicline.
