Dublin city was described as one of the “big movers” in 2025, having risen four places from the 15th spot in the global congestion rankings.
In Ireland, approximately 80% of the population over 18 holds a driving license, and nearly three-quarters of all journeys are made by car. But why do we love the car so much?
Is it just in our nature to learn how to drive and own a car?
