The free agent articles/videos will be dropping every Tuesday afternoon in advance of when bids process on Wednesday at 5 AM and will consist of the week’s Top 5 free agent adds. I will do my best to keep the players listed at an ownership percentage of 65% or less and make sure all players have contracts of $8,000,000 or less, with most players coming in at under $4,000,000. One last note, in Dynasty Owner you will be credited each week with 25% of your entire Bench’s score making these weekly free agent pick-ups extremely important to help boost your total weekly score.

Most of the time the focus is on the top teams in both the NFL and Dynasty Owner. Last week, the five undefeated Dynasty Owner teams were profiled here, but there’s no suspense about those teams making the Dynasty Owner playoffs since all of them have already clinched a spot. The top NFL teams will likely get flexed into the Sunday Night Football match-up over the next few weeks. For example, the Week 13 game between the AFC West division leading Kansas City Chiefs was moved to be played on Sunday night. The game featuring two teams in the battle for an AFC Wild Card (Bengals vs. Chargers) was not flexed into prime time.

It can happen in Dynasty Owner as well. A few of our 2020 League Winners weren’t one of the top two teams and had to play in the first round of the playoffs. Some were even the #5 or #6 seed. In League #28274, B3lowradar made the playoffs at 7-6, but ended up defeating the top three seeds to win their League title. The Swamp Rats in League #35109 entered the playoffs as the #5 seed with a 7-6 record, but toppled the #2 seed in the finals to win. Those are just two examples, and we are likely to see more of them in 2021. Dynasty Owners welcome back to one of the last few weeks of the 2021 Free Agent Auction targets series. As the season starts to wind down so does the amount of free agents available. In last week’s article, the Number 1 target (Cam Newton) paid off big time, but a big time free agent pickup this late in Dynasty Owner will likely be an outlier in the years to come. It only took until Week 8 before the final NFL team (Arizona Cardinals) dropped from the ranks of the undefeated. Arizona was the only undefeated team for three weeks. Heading into Week 4, there were five undefeated teams (Arizona, Carolina, Denver, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles Rams), but four of them lost to go 3-1. Once Arizona lost, the only undefeated team in NFL history (the 1972 Miami Dolphins) got to do their traditional champagne pop for the year.
In Dynasty Owner, our first Chase for the Ring winner in 2019 (New York’s Strongest) went undefeated, but they remain the only undefeated team in Dynasty Owner history. The 2020 Ring winner (Barbee Kilgore) lost their first game in Week 5. They followed that up with another loss in Week 6 and even suffered a third loss in the regular season.

Welcome everyone to my first look at the incoming 2022 NFL draft class. While there may be some players who declare early and jump ahead of the players on this list, these are the players that numerous major sites have listed on their big boards. As we all know by now, the scouting process of football players can be a daunting task, just look at the how often top picks fail, and late round picks succeed in the NFL compared to a league like the NBA. It is a rare occurrence that a good starter is found in the second round of the NBA draft, yet every year we see numerous late round players turn into studs in the NFL. And don’t forget about those hungry undrafted kids. What I am trying to say here is it is never too early to start doing your homework when it comes to NFL prospects. Enough of the talking, let’s get familiar with these guys!

That’s the phrase that people are using to describe the Los Angeles Rams’ attitude this season after they signed Odell Beckham Jr. on Thursday. This comes after trading for linebacker Von Miller at the trade deadline for a second and a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft. During training camp, they traded with New England for RB Sony Michel to help back up Darrell Henderson who was stepping into the starting lineup to replace Cam Akers who tore his Achilles in July. That trade only cost them a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2023 draft. Early in the off-season, they traded QB Jared Goff along with a 2021 third-round pick, and their first-round picks in the 2022 and 2023 NFL drafts to Detroit for QB Matthew Stafford. Back in 2020, they traded away their 2022 fourth-round pick and WR Brandin Cooks to Houston for a second-round pick this year (Van Jefferson). Overall, the Rams now have only four picks in the entire 2022 NFL draft – a compensatory third-round pick, their own fifth and seventh-round picks and a seventh-round pick from the Miami Dolphins.

The Rams will end up with additional compensatory picks but have effectively traded away almost all of their 2022 draft picks. Many people are calling the 2022 NFL draft class weak, but the Rams and GM Les Snead are clearly thinking more about a run at the Super Bowl than offering their opinion on the quality of the players available in the draft. The Rams want to duplicate what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did last season and hoist the Lombardi Trophy after a Super Bowl victory on their home field.
