Welcome into the PICKLE JAR....in this episode Candice shares her 10 year journey with Addison's Disease. At 17 she was diagnosed with endometriosis but was fortunate to be be blessed with two 'miracle' babies. Shortly following her daughters birth in 2012 she was diagnosed with gastroparesis and was experiencing migraines. Treating these ailments with steroids and the dramatic change in Candice's health with this treatment, alerted herself and her main advocate, her mom that there may be more going on with Candice.
Research lead them to the possibility of Addison's Disease. Educating and advocating for her treatment has been key to her quality of life and has Candice believes has saved her life. Taking about 2 years for an unofficial diagnosis as the concern was taking Candice off steroids to confirm Addison's. But with time and declining health official answers were needed.
Years later Candice has experienced the ups and downs of this illness. She has also recognizes the blessings and gifts in her life.
