An 84-year-old woman who was a pious fixture in Jerusalem, never left the temple, worshiping there day and night, fasting and praying. Also called Candlemas or Hypapante (Eastern Orthodoxy) or The Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, this feast day involves blessing candles symbolizing Christ as light.
