  • Episode 172: The Buttsniffing Bandit

    Send a text

We'll learn some very important lessons this week, Coven. One: you need to look under the bed once inside your hotel room. Two: wash your butt thoroughly so the butt sniffer doesn't get you. You heard that right. There's a buttsniffing bandit at large, and he's coming for your ass. There's also a pudgy Japanese man with a bowl haircut recording you as you sleep. This may be our scariest episode yet... We'll also cover potential bigfoot sightings, get angry about Epstein and learn that there just might be an alien spacecraft heading this way with ill intentions. Can't blame em! Happy haunting!

  • Episode 171: True Religion - Mormonism

    Send a text

We promised it would happen, and we're nothing if not true to our word. This week we're digging into the wild and whacky ways of Mormonism! An angelic vision and ancient text deciphered via a hat and some seer stones has resulted in a religion with more than 17.5 million followers. Since we're in our EBC Lite era, we're not doing a deep dive, but we are slinging facts that leave us with more questions than answers. We'll learn about Trek, that Bigfoot may actually be Cain, and that The Garden of Eden is actually right here in the United States. You'll never guess where. While there may be some jaw dropping revelations, we love all of our religious listeners and hope you find it in you to laugh along with us and realize that every religion is a little bit kooky. Like Joseph Smith, I too see gold plates in our future. (It's called our Patreon. Join it.) Happy haunting!

  • Episode 169: The Demon House Exorcisms

    Send a text

In November 2011, Latoya Ammons, her mother Rosa, and Latoya's three children moved into a rental house in Gary, Indiana. At first, everything seemed fine. Then came swarms of thousands of black flies, even though it was the dead of winter. Soon strange activity began in the house- shadows, unexplained noises, wet boot prints on the floor. And then the demonic possession began. Without giving too much away, this is a fascinating story full of twists, turns, and jump scares. Arguably the most well documented case of demonic activity in the contemporary era, this story presents a very compelling argument for the existence of the supernatural. Or, is it just intergenerational trauma (as usual?) We can't wait to hear what you think!

  • Episode 168: Rods of Power

    Send a text

What a week of news we have to share! And most of it is pretty grim. But that's why you've got us - to bring some levity to these dark, depressing times. This week we'll read another lucky listener's tarot and learn that perception really is everything! We'll learn about lucky newlyweds who said, "I Do" at a Bigfoot Festival. Can you say dreamy? We're jealous. We'll learn about a non-profit called Ethan's Smile, created in memory of one of the University of Idaho students who was brutally murdered. AI continues to take steps toward world domination, the White House attempts to white wash our history at national historical landmarks, and Paris shuts down the marriage between a grown adult man and a 9 year old in Disneyland. We told you it was grim. Happy Haunting!

  • Episode 167: Who Killed Sister Cathy?

    Send a text

We’ll give you a hint : it rhymes with batholic and ends with church… We’re not gonna sugarcoat it, Coven. This week’s episode is anything but lite. But sometimes we have to share the hard things in the hopes of making change. In 1969, Sister Cathy Cesnik was found murdered, her body dumped on a hillside, hidden in snow. The case went cold for years, until students from Archbishop Keough High School came forward in 1994 with damning accusations of sexual abuse and murder. This case lays blame at the feet of an institution that’s been perpetuating sex crimes against minors for years, while taking zero accountability for their actions. In a city like Baltimore, where Catholicism reigns supreme, priests like Father Joseph Maskell were considered an extension of God and never questioned. Add in corruption from local police departments and interference from the Baltimore Archdiocese, and you’ve got yourself a case impossible to prove. Who killed Sister Cathy? We think it’s pretty clear.

  • Episode 166: Spooky Hour- Get Your Hands off Our Public Lands

    Send a text

Coven, this episode may be the spookiest hour of all... Our pubic lands are under attack! This week we decided to highlight some of our favorite places in our nation's gorgeous vast wilderness. And what better way to remind us how precious these places are than to hear about the strangest and spookiest things you can expect (hope?) to encounter in our national forests and BLM lands! Consider this the latest chapter in Lisey's national park series but this week comes with homework. Listen in, enjoy this curated collection of creepiness, and then call your elected representatives and tell them you oppose the sale of our public lands! The latest spending bill has hit a roadblock, but an amended version will soon be introduced that still sees millions of acres vulnerable. Stand with the Coven to protect our most precious resource!

  • Episode 165: Kentucky, Man

    Send a text

Dearest coven, this week has been a bit of a doozy. But we remain unwavering in our dedication to bringing laughs even among the tears. In this week's episode, we get political and bring our hot takes regarding the real life handmaid's tale scenario playing out in a Georgia hospital room. We'll talk about some dark Irish history. And then we'll do a swift 180, and talk about the weird and ridiculous headlines we couldn't help but click on. We'll find our new favorite criminal in Kentucky, a pied meth piper if you will. We'll revisit an old favorite, witches controlling swarms of bees to punish assholes. And we'll even end with a good thing, because it's more important now than ever. Hold your loved ones close, and join us so we can laugh together.

  • Episode 164: What about Bob? (Lazar)

    Send a text

In May 1989, an anonymous whistleblower appeared on a Las Vegas news show, interviewed by journalist George Knapp. The claims shared by "Dennis" (as he was called on the show) were pretty remarkable. He claimed that he had worked for the government on a top secret program located in the desert near Area 51. He said that the government had 9 extraterrestrial crafts that scientists were working on reverse engineering. By fall of that year, Bob Lazar was ready to come forward and reveal his name and the full extent of his experience working with alien technologies at Area 51. From the get go, Bob Lazar has been a polarizing figure. He's been widely written off as liar, but many well respected folks in the UFO world trust and believe him, so we think it's worth a closer look. Don't take our word for it, and tune in and decide for yourself if you believe the incredible story of Bob Lazar.
