CONSPIRACY THEORIES?: Flat Earth, moon landing hoaxes & more!

Hello, Eavesdroppers! As you know, we love a good conspiracy theory here at Eavesdroppin’ Podcast and this week, Geordie & Michelle talk about two conspiracies that tickle their fancy: the Flat Earth theory and the Moon Landing hoax!

Is the Earth round? Is the Earth flat? Is it a disc with a wall of ice around the periphery? Despite all the evidence, why do Flat Earthers still believe the Earth is flat? And if it’s flat, how come NO ONE HAS EVER WALKED TO THE EDGE? Have any Flat Earth theories ever been proven? Listen in for answers!

Then there’s the small question of the 1969 moon landing… Did Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong really set foot on the moon in 1969? Or did NASA fake the whole thing? Especially as the Apollo 11 was made out of tin foil? What’s with the letter C on a moon rock? And how about all those theories around wind, shadows, no stars in pictures… Not sure if there are any answers but the girls give it a red hot go!

When Sir Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame released his breakout film Heavenly Creatures back in 1994 starring an unknown actress called Kate Winslet, the film scooped up loads of accolades but also shone a light on the chilling story of two New Zealand schoolgirls, Pauline Parker and Juliet Hulme, who murdered Pauline’s mother in cold blood. Why did the pair ‘moider’ Honora Parker? What was so shocking about the case? Why are we talking about Melanie Lynskey? What happened to the killer teenagers? And where are they now? CATFISHED: Stories of fake girlfriends, fake boyfriends, fake babies & more!

Have you ever been catfished? Do know what catfishing is? It’s basically a cruel online deception where someone steals a real-life identity or creates a fake persona usually to start a romantic relationship with an unsuspecting victim, but sometimes it’s just to extort money. Sounds f*cked up, right?! Well, this week on Eavesdroppin’, Geordie and Michelle look at some real-life catfishing stories and discover TikTok’s hilarious Catfish Challenge…

It’s the podcast everyone is talking about, including Geordie… yes, it’s Sweet Bobby… the story of a woman called Kirat who was seduced online for 10 YEARS by a 'man' called Bobby whom, in true catfish style, turned out to be someone Kirat wasn’t expecting… So how does someone get sucked into being catfished? How can 10 years fly by without you ever meeting the person you’re in a relationship with? What red flags do you need to see to know something’s ‘fishy’? How far will someone go to dupe and coerce an online victim? Listen in to find out!

Michelle then talks about TikTok’s ‘accidental catfish’ challenge that takes the piss out of people who use filters to make themselves more gorgeous than they really are on dating apps and social media (see Geordie & Michelle’s ‘hot’ catfish photos on their Facebook page!). The collective year 2022 is a 6 year.

We can work this out by making the following calculation:

2022: 2+0+2+2 = 6

To determine your own personal numerology number, follow this calculation:

Take the day you were born and add it to the month you were born (exclude your birth year) and keep adding until you get a single number, then add a six to it and continue to add until you again get a single number.

For example, if you were born on November 28, your numerology number for 2022 would be 9, calculated below:

2 + 8 + 1 + 1 = 12

1 + 2= 3

+ 6

= 9

POT LUCK CHRISTMAS PARTY SHARTY: Christmas party fails, vomit, cancel culture & more!

♬ Simply having a wonderful Eavesdroppin’ Christmas time♬🎤… Yes, it’s Christmas every Wednesday in December and this week, Geordie & Michelle look at Christmas party fails, Christmas chunder and how your favourite old-school movies just got woked.

On this week’s smögåsbord: Roman Roy’s dickie piccy, Yellowjackets, the 90s film Heavenly Creatures and the Number 10 Downing street Christmas party brouhaha, plus Michelle raises the question of cancel culture and retroactively woke-ifying the past… Find out which classic Christmas movies reward toxic men, are sexist, fat-phobic, stalker-y and more (or just a sign of the times…).

KIDNAPPED! Natascha Kampusch, Chloe Ayling, Duffy, Stockholm Syndrome, Cleo Smith & more

PEOPLE! If you heard last week’s episode on MLMs, you’ll know Michelle overused the word PEOPLE, along with ‘it’s really scary’, but moving right along, it’s time to listen up because this week it’s the KIDNAPPING EPISODE!

Then we get to our first case… the bizarre kidnapping of Austrian schoolgirl Natascha Kampusch. So in 1998, 10 year old Natascha Kampusch disappeared without a trace. Eight years later… she turns up having escaped from her kidnapper Wolfgang Priklopil. So what happened in those 8 years? Who is Ernest Holzapfel? Why is the white minivan important? Did Wolfgang Priklopil kill himself BY TRAIN or was he MURDERED? How did she escape? Why does she live in the house where she was held captive for all those years? How come she still carries a photo of Wolfgang in her handbag? Why is there a question mark over elements of her story? How did Michelle not spot that the Natascha wedding photo was a fake? And why does Michelle keep calling Ernest “Ernst”? LISTEN IN PEOPLE!

Geordie talks about the terrifying ordeal of model Chloe Ayling. Lured to Milan for a fake photo shoot, she was kidnapped, drugged with ketamine and thrown in the boot of a car, only to be told she would be sex trafficked to the middle east, used until she was worthless and then fed to tigers.
