MISSING PRESUMED… What happened to Connie Converse, Richey Manic and Agatha Christie?

Having someone you love go missing must be heartbreaking for the ones left behind trying to pick up the pieces and never knowing if or when they’ll return. This week on Eavesdroppin’, we look at the mysterious disappearance of two musicians and the red-herring plot twist of Agatha Christie’s real-life disappearance…

But first, Geordie and Michelle start off with some ap-a-logies, namely for mispronouncing Coronappropriation! We share some AMAZING insights from Tameera the Modern Mystic about where your pets go when they die, why you need to let them go and why dogs sniff arses! All before Michelle raves on about the BBC seriese Back to Life and a funny little song she heard in an episode from Season 2…

So… Who is Connie Converse? Why have we never heard of her? Is Connie Converse really her real name? When did Connie Converse disappear? And is she still missing? Why is Michelle singing? And why is she mid-level obsessed with this obscure folk singer? *Warning – don’t expect any answers!

Geordie then follows with the curious case of Agatha Christie… Why is her disappearance a little-known fact? Was it a hoax? Was she trying to punish her philandering husband? And what’s with the loaf of bread? All this and more!

Geordie then wraps up the episode by dipping her toe into the murky, sad waters of the disappearance of Richey Edwards AKA Richey Manic from the Manic Street Preachers…  Did he jump off the Severn Bridge? Did he fake his own disappearance? Is he living in Goa? Did he run off to a kibbutz in Israel with the mysterious Vivian? Was he swept away in the Thai tsunami? Is he partying with Elvis? We’d like to think so but we’ll never know… YOU LOVE US... and we love youse!

WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR BODIES WHEN WE DIE? Plus past lives, reincarnation memories, creepy kids and more!

WARNING: In this episode, we talk about the gross stuff that happens to your body after you die and Michelle says the C word twice – you may want to usher small children out of the room or let them watch crap TV for the next hour...

With that out of the way… Do you know what time it is? It’s EAVESDROPPIN’ time, where you get to sit with a Neenish tart and a hot cup of tea while we do the yakkin’ – and oh oh oh, are you in for a TREAT today (especially if your idea of a treat is listening to Geordie talking about what physically happens to your body once you’ve croaked). The words FLUIDS, SEEPAGE AND CRITTERS are all mentioned… Might want to put that Neenish tart down after all.

First up we start with a small round-up of Michelle’s unsuccessful start to her Nootropic journey before Geordie shocks the Jesus and the Wee Donkey out of us with a story about Spain’s youngest bishop who fell in love with a female author of erotic-themed demonic fiction. Honestly, you can’t make this sh*t up. Then she changes gear to tell us all about the grisly, gross, poopy, crittery, fluidy, seepy details of what physically happens to our bodies when we die. Plus a few things to ponder… Terminal lucidity! How the body self digests! The second stage of death! The difference between algor mortis and riga mortis! Critters who chomp on us! Dead bodies can move! Severed heads! And more wonderful things…

Then Michelle talks about a tweet she read from Dan Schreiber where he shat his pants after his son casually mentioned he used to have another mummy and a different name. It blew up Twitter. Loads of other parents talked about their kids’ reincarnation stories. Or are they memories? And how is Einstein’s theory of energy intertwined? Is reincarnation real? Is Jenny Cockell really the reincarnation of Irish mother of 8 Mary? Will we come back after we die or do you have to die traumatically to be reincarnated? So much to unpack, so much to ponder, so much to sh*t your pants about if you have a 2-7 year old who starts to tell you that they used to be someone else…

SECT OR CULT? Raëlism, the Bruderhof, aliens, plagarism and more!

Well hello, Eavesdroppers! This week’s episode goes from boring to bizarre as we look at two weird and whacky religious sects (just don’t call them cults, like Michelle does the whole way through…).

First up? In an effort to find a lighthearted cult where not everyone dies at the end, Michelle talks about The Bruderhof!
