My first takeaway from Mitchell was that he did over $2,000,000 and has failed (in a good way) to take on a personal warehouse. I think he has made me rethink some fundamentals (mine) and self-imposed limits I have. Now he does use a Prep company and credits them with allowing him to scale to the exceptional level he has. He still is a heavy RA buyer (really heavy in the 4th quarter!) and he and two others move mountains of material, so look really hard at whether you really need (or is it just nice to have) a warehouse before you pull the trigger. Mitchell might suggest it is a little premature and put your money into more inventory!
This group of younger, newer sellers really has a bond, almost like they move in sync - as one, so take what you can from each of these interviews and think whether you should consider a group of like-minded sellers and more importantly can YOU add value to their business without expectation? That's when you hit the sweet spot!
Matt is the first of the four "Young Guns' interviews in this series. (Note- Duane Malek and Karen Isgur-Bergsagel also are in the group and were interviewed earlier-I will have their interview links below) These four guys represent your real up and coming competition. They have no fear, they clear the shelf very quickly, they have youthful exuberance (Code for they don't get tired!) they will outwork us all! Not saying this to scare you, rather to say change up your game, make your move, take advantage as "First Movers", you don't know what you know! You take it for granted, but now is the opportunity to set yourself up for real success.
Irma is the proverbial Coal Mine success story! (Ok not really but she did work in a coal mine!) This is one well-education seller. From undergrad at Princeton on to an MBA from Kellogg School at Northwestern University, Irma is destined (some would say programmed) for incredible business success. She delivers in a big way. What you are about to hear is someone who went to Business school, learned how to create, set-up and continuously run a successful business. I love the breakdown of steps, the consistent approach that we can all learn from. Sit back, listen once, take notes, contemplate, then go listen again and then create a plan of action and as Irma would say...Now go AND take action. (Most won't, so taking the first step already sets you apart. Go, go, go......
Men we really need to step up our game! Get ready to realize we are not pulling our weight, we are getting crushed by the fourth in my Women in eCommerce series! Brianna is a very busy person, who will outwork you, she will figure it out, she will put her head down and do the work, she will pull it together and most importantly take action. She is fiercely competitive, growing up as a competitive skater, she not only sets goals, she exceeds them. We spend time talking about her connection of Amazon & Ebay & Bonanza & Ebay. Yes there is a way to make most of it hands off. Not all yet, but she is close. So get ready to feel a little inadequate, and then take action, move forward and crush it like Brianna.
Karin or KIB as we all know her is such a breath of fresh air. She tells us her age, 63, and also credits her age with her success. She sees the events of her life, and there have been challenging events, as the steps of preparation to success. So it doesn't matter where you start, as long as you start. She is 63 and having the most fun of her life. She hangs out in a group known as the "Young Guns", a group who have mega-success based on incredible efforts and more-importantly incredible communication with each other and she holds her own! She seems to have the ability to relate with whomever she is with, I am guessing that is the Compassionate Nurse coming out in her? The thing I took away from this interview is that I need to up my game, I need to build better relationships, I need to read a lot more, I need to study success and more importantly I need to act!
